Did the Big 12 go too far by giving Texas Tech two non-Saturday home games? In this video, I break down the latest twist in the Brett Yormark vs. Cody Campbell drama after the Big 12 officially put Texas Tech vs. Houston on Friday night and moved TCU vs. Texas Tech to Thanksgiving night. I explain why Texas Tech fans have a real reason to be frustrated, especially with two non-Saturday home games in the same season, but also why this may not be a punishment at all. The Big 12âs TV deal was built around these kinds of scheduling sacrifices, and Texas Tech had actually avoided non-Saturday games more than almost anyone else in the league over the last two years. I also get into why the Thanksgiving night TCU game could actually be a huge win for the Big 12 from a ratings and exposure standpoint, why the Houston game is more debatable, and what this says about the leagueâs ongoing effort to compete with the SEC and Big Ten through TV strategy and schedule flexibility. Did the Big 12 punish Texas Tech by giving the Red Raiders two non-Saturday games? On tonightâs show, I break down the latest Brett Yormark vs. Cody Campbell drama after Texas Tech landed a Friday game against Houston and a Thanksgiving night matchup with TCU. I explain why I actually think the Big 12 got this right, why Tech fans are frustrated, and why the TCU game could be a huge TV win for the league. Plus, ESPN suddenly seems to love the Big 12 heading into the 2026 college football season. I dive into why Bill Connelly is high on so many Big 12 transfer portal classes, what that says about the league nationally, and whether this kind of respect is actually built to last. And to wrap it up, I rank the top 10 football programs in the Big 12 right now based on NIL support, coaching, consistency, and institutional backing, including Texas Tech, BYU, Utah, Arizona State, TCU, K-State, Iowa State and more. The Carolina Hurricanes lost 2-1 to the Seattle Kraken in a road game on March 2, 2026. The Hurricanes saw their 5-game winning streak come to an end as they fell to the Seattle Kraken, 2-1. The Kraken scored both of their goals in the 1st half of the second period as a couple of breakdowns led to grade A scoring chances. Nikolaj Ehlers got the Canes on the board late in the 2nd period, pouncing on a loose puck and ringing the bell for the 16th time this season to make it a 1-goal game heading into the 3rd. But, Carolina just couldn't generate enough from their 36 shots on goal and 83 (!!!) total shot attempts and the game fizzled out at the end. Frederik Andersen started his second consecutive game for the first time since before Thanksgiving, but wasn't able to stack back-to-back strong performances in losing. It snaps his personal 6-game point streak.
