Download Rate Game: https://rategame.onelink.me/ySCx/yw0bdvrc The NBA went completely off the rails in these last couple of days. We got Lebron beefing on Instagram over Luka Doncic, and possibly the most awkward situation of having to welcome back the players that you traded away just days ago. But we gotta start with the Luka madness that still wouldn’t die down even a week after it happened. You got fans rioting in front of the arena… All of a sudden Mavs GM Nico Harrison is getting death threats, forcing him to beef up his personal security. The backlash from the trade is massive. All of this provoked Patrick Dumont, the Mavs owner to speak on the matter. Doing that by indirectly attacking Doncic. He said, “If you look at the greats in the league, the people you and I grew up with — Jordan, Bird, Kobe, Shaq — they worked really hard, everyday with a singular focus to win. And if you don’t have that, it doesn’t work… You shouldn’t be a part of the Dallas Mavericks.” What does the author mean by that? That Luka lacks passion to win? Does this look like a man without passion to you? Doncic dragged his team to the finals posting ludacris numbers while playing the most minutes in the NBA, logging a total of 3,524 minutes across the regular season and playoffs. All of that while being plagued by injuries. LeBron stood up for his new teammate by posting this cryptic message on Instagram after Dumont’s interview. When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn’t become a king. The palace becomes a circus. Referring to Dumont taking over the decision making from Mark Cuban in 2023 when he bought the majority of the team stakes. Cuban, who's well known for loving Luka, actually ran off to Harrison right after he heard the news to try and prevent the trade from happening, but only to find out it’s already done. He recently cracked a joke with Bill Gates about this. And that older version had a pretty spectacular first impression with the Mavericks, but also a very short one. After balling through the first 3 quarters with 26 points, 16 rebounds and 3 blocks, AD fell down with a non-contact injury, and as Shams reported he will likely miss multiple weeks, if not month, with a left adductor strain. Mark Stein, an ESPN reporter focused on the Mavs tweat-ed that Davis might be out for an indefinite period of time. Wow.. And I gotta say, this comment got me crying. Nico and company believed that Anthony Davis had the shoulders to "carry this load" meaning that he would make the fans forget about Doncic in no time. But, he just fueled the chaos to greater heights. And the Lakers found themselves in an awkward position as well, after having to fail Mark Williams on his physical exam resulting in the trade being rescinded. Now, they have to welcome back Dalton Knecht and Cam Reddish and act like it’s all love between them. The Hornets even wrote a welcome back letter for Mark Williams, stating how thrilled they are to see him rejoining the roster, and that they’ve never wanted to trade him in the first place but they cracked under the Lakers aggressive pressure. This is hilarious. But things get even crazier. Charlotte might have another trade rescinded after everyone included in the Cody Martin - Jusuf Nurkic trade were being listed out due to “trade-pending” even 3 days after the news. Wait, what? The reason is unclear, but speculation points to Cody Martin's incomplete physical exam with the Suns. Geez, The Hornets traded away half the team and now they might have to welcome everyone back? That’s bizarre. Golden State do not have those issues as it all appears to be fun and games at the beginning of their journey with Jimmy Butler. And Steph had nothing but praises for the new addition, so if he thinks it’s gonna be good, then I’m excited for it. Anyway, this left me and all Philly fans in shambles. What? Wasn’t he on a strict injury management plan till now? He had a surgery this time last year, missed a lot of time, returned briefly for the playoffs, and against all odds played in the Olympics, just to find out 7 months later that his knee is not healed enough? This is devastating for him and the entire Sixers franchise. Another superstar that won’t be making an All-Star appearance is Giannis. The Bucks announced that Antetokounmpo will miss the next 2 games and the All-Star weekend as well because of a left calf injury. That will weaken Chuck’s international squad a lot, as the fans finally got what they wanted after Shaq and Barkley created a team USA against the World scenario, with Kenny being cornered into choosing as he said “young and… young” roster before drafting Jaren Jackson Jr. ahead of all these names.

Luka Dončić is expected to answer questions from reporters for the first time since he was shockingly traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers. Reports say Dončić, like the rest of us, was blindsided by the deal. The Lakers are holding an introductory news conference for Dončić at 11 a.m. central time. The deal between the Mavericks and Lakers was first reported late Saturday night before the teams confirmed the deal the next day. Dallas Mavericks receive: Anthony Davis, Max Christie, 2029 LA Lakers first-round pick Los Angeles Lakers receive: Luka Dončić, Maxi Kleber, Markieff Morris Utah Jazz receive: Jalen Hood-Schifino, 2025 LA Clippers second-round pick, 2025 Dallas Mavericks second-round pick. The Lakers play the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night, but Dončić is not expected to play. At this point, it is not clear when Dončić will suit up in the purple and gold for the first time. Luka has not played since Christmas Day with a calf injury. NBA reporter Marc Stein reported that Dončić had been targeting a return to court on Feb. 8. If that is the case, the Lakers will be playing former Mavs coach Rick Carlisle's Indiana Pacers at the Staples Center. The next game between the Mavs and Lakers is scheduled for Feb. 25 in Los Angeles. The two teams will play at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on April 9. Dončić is one of the NBA's biggest young stars, being named first team All-NBA in each of the last 5 seasons. He also led the Mavericks to playoff success, with a trip to the NBA Finals last season and a trip to the Western Conference Finals in 2022. In his career in Dallas, Dončić averaged 28.6 points, 8.7 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game. Among players with at least 400 games, Doncic’s 28.6-point average is third in NBA history behind only Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain — both at 30.1. Dončić has battled injuries throughout his time in the NBA. He has played in just 22 of the Mavericks' 49 games this season. He has not played since injuring his calf on Christmas Day against the Minnesota Timberwolves. In those 22 games this season, Dončić has averaged 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game. With Mavs head coach Jason Kidd by his side, Nico Harrison opened up a news conference on Sunday by saying he understands the magnitude of the trade, but believes the trade sets up the culture he wants to see in the Mavericks. "We've had a vision and a culture that we've wanted to create since we've been here and the players that we're bringing in we believe exemplify that," Harrison said. "We think defense wins championships, and we're bringing in one of the best two-way players in the league." Harrison did stop short of saying that Luka did not fit the culture the Mavericks are trying to build. Many have speculated that Dončić may have asked to be traded or told the Mavericks that he would not accept a contract extension when his current deal expires in a year and a half. Harrison said there had been no "verbal" indication that Dončić did not plan to take the extension. Harrison also said he only spoke to the Lakers about a possible deal. The Mavericks GM says when he first presented the idea to Mavs Governor Patrick Dumont he laughed at him, but that he trusted Harrison to pull the trigger on the deal. "I'm the one making the decision," Harrison said. "Time will tell if I'm right."
