The two stalwarts of IPL have had contrasting fortunes over the last 15 years. MI have had 5 titles to their credit. RCB have made it to three finals. However this rivalry hasn't been talked about much. There are no hush hush voices when these two teams meet. That has to evolve. And transform into something fierce. Because these are two teams who enjoy massive fan following. Today might be the day. Because both teams are hungry for those two points. You don't want to look at the points table. It is clogged! It is congested. The winner will spring to number 3 in the table. The loser most possibly go to 8th. That's how much is at stake! Brilliant fightback by the Mumbai bowlers after being on the receiving end of the brutal onslaught from Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell. Royal Challengers ended up posting 199/6 in their allotted 20 overs! Earlier in the evening Mumbai Indians won the toss and invited Royal Challengers Bangalore to have a bat. The tall Aussie left-arm pacer Jason Behrendorff raised to the big occasion. He gave RCB a nightmare by dismissing Virat Kohli in the first over and followed it by removing Anuj Rawat in his next over. The Bengaluru-based franchise were struggling at 16/2. Glenn Maxwell joined Faf du Plessis and both took the responsibility of lifting the side. Maxi and Faf scored aggressively and put MI under pressure. They added 120 runs for the 3rd wicket. While Maxwell hammered 68 off 33 including 8 fours and 4 sixes du Plessis amassed 65 off 41 with 5 fours and 3 sixes making full use of the life given earlier as Nehal Wadhera dropped him for naught. When both these batters were going crazy Mumbai looked flat on the field. It was again Behrendorff to the rescue for the Rohit Sharma-led side as the left-armer broke this big partnership by dismissing the Big Show in the 13th over. Afterwards RCB lost their way a bit as they lost Mahipal Lomror and well-set skipper du Plessis in the matter of an over. The visiting side opted for the impact player and substituted Kedar Jadhav with Lomror. Jadhav and Dinesh Karthik stitched together 39 runs for the 6th wicket and gave the team something to bowl at this high-scoring Wankhede. Jordan picked his first IPL wicket as he made DK (30 off 18) hole out in the deep. Jadhav (12* off 10) and Wanindu Hasaranga (12* off 8) batted the remaining balls and helped the side reach near the magic number of 200. Jason Behrendorff was the successful bowler scalping three wickets for the home side. Cameron Green Kumar Kartikeya and Chris Jordan got a wicket each while the veteran Piyush Chawla went wicketless and wasn’t economical as well which was unusual. Mumbai bowlers have done well to pull things back after that assault from the two overseas RCB hitters smashed the bowling side left right and centre. 200 is the exact number that MI need to chase to make a move to the third place in the points table. Glenn Maxwell(RCB): " Yeah it was very good build up a nice partnership taking on spinners was really good. I am a bit surprised like till the 13th over I thought we can easily get over 200. But I am happy with the score as the ball was dipping in a bit in the latter half. I was just committed to whatever came into my mind. My plan was just to go in the middle and put up a partnership with Faf. I was just positive and played the reverse lap shots. I just thought to take on the spinners and put pressure on them." India vs New Zealand 1st T20 Live | IND vs NZ 1st T20 Live Scores & Commentary

India vs New Zealand 1st T20 Live This Match Will be Played at JSCA International Stadium Complex Ranchi on 27th January 2023 This Match Will Start at 7.00pm From Indian Standard time. IND vs NZ 1st T20 Live Commentary By Sports Updates by Chandan. Follow us on Social Media. Facebook: https://m.facebook.com/Sports-Updates-by-Chandan-108054670939374/?ref=bookmarks YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCr2IiLqoVoqWHdyWW_inRkg YouTube 1: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdEtpnaEyqVJ3p5Xm3OqMEg Twitter: https://twitter.com/techindia251995?s=09 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/chandan_singh1/ Telegram: https://t.me/sportsupdatesbychandan After being whitewashed 3-0 in the ODIs New Zealand will lock horns with India in the first of the three T20Is on Friday. The match is scheduled at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. India will be without their two stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Also with Jasprit Bumrah missing Hardik Pandya will again have a young seam bowling unit to lead in the series. However despite the key players' absence team India looks rock-solid studded with the likes of Suryakumar Yadav Shubman Gill Ishan Kishan Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep Singh. It will also be interesting to see if Prithvi Shaw makes his much-awaited international comeback in the very first game. He will fight a virtual contest with Gill Ishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad for an opening slot in the playing XI. This series will also give the much-needed opportunities to Rahul Tripathi and Deepak Hooda to upgrade their status from fringe players to regulars in the shortest format. The visitors will look to erase the scars of the ODI series and start the T20Is on a winning note. But their journey won't be easy as they will miss ace pacers Tim Southee and Trent Boult. So the onus will be on their batting unit comprising Finn Allen Devon Conway Glenn Phillips Daryl Mitchell and the sensational Michael Bracewell. It will also be a litmus test for Mitchell Santner who besides batting and bowling will have the additional responsibility of leadership. Lockie Ferguson who was abysmal in the ODIs must perform as the leader of the bowling attack by not only putting up impressive performances but also guiding the young guns like Henry Shipley Jacob Duffy and Blair Tickner. So who will win? Team News New Zealand: After impressing in the ODI series Michael Bracewell will be a shoo-in for the T20Is. Ben Lister could be making his debut. Team News India: Ruturaj Gaikwad stands ruled out of the series with wrist pain/injury but India haven't asked for a replacement. They are likely to stick with the opening pair of Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill which served them well recently against Sri Lanka. There's also Prithvi Shaw in the squad this time having forced his way back with the sheer weight of runs at the domestic level and how India try and bring him into the scheme of things will be something to keep an eye on. There's no Harshal Patel this time around and the returning Kuldeep Yadav could challenge Yuzvendra Chahal's spot. What to expect: A whole lot of MS Dhoni t-shirts in the stands. Only three T20 Internationals have been hosted at this ground with the last one being a rematch between India and NZ here in 2021. Tim Southee and Harshal Patel's cutters headlined the slow pitch on that occasion but India have played on much better pitches this season and something similar could be expected in Ranchi. Watch out for the big boundaries at this venue. Pitch Report: The pitch at Ranchi's JSCA International Stadium Complex offers a balanced surface in T20 cricket. The average first innings score here is 133 but India easily chased a 154-run target against Kiwis in the last T20I game played here.
