On "Start Your Day," hosts Sharon Reed and Mike Hill discuss Philadelphia Sixers player Ben Simmons. Many on social media, including BNC host Marc Lamont Hill, are calling out Simmons for not playing well. Reed and Hill discuss the player's performance as many attribute the team's loss in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinal to Simmons. NBA legend Magic Johnson said Simmons could never return to the Sixers' locker room. "The locker room won't recover from this. He can't recover from this," Johnson said. "The great fan base in Philadelphia — all the talk now centers around him." Sports Icon and businessman Shaquelle O'Neal said he would have knocked Simmons out if he was playing with him. Here's the reaction after the game, from the virtual Mixed Zone: Linus Weber (Germany): "Our expectations were different, but if you look at the start of the game, there is a huge difference between how we have started with three mistakes in a row and after this we were running these mistakes all the set. Also in the second part we didn't start well, but we fought hard in the third. It was a close set - it's a good thing. We tried to use our energy, but we didn't come back and at the end Canada played really good volleyball on a constant level." Sharone Vernon-Evans (Canada): "It's just amazing. Like we said yesterday we just came here and tried to compete and today it was in our fortune in our favour. We fought hard, we kept our foot on the pedal and kept on trying persevering in tough moments to keep this leading and keep fighting until the end. A key to victory? The reliance on tough points, keeping the ball in long rallies, trying to keep the ball off the floor, we made a good pressure on the block and forced them to narrow their game down on a specific side of the court, so it was easier to get our blocks set up. I feel that just blockers and defenders were all together." ►► Subscribe NOW & hit the bell! 🔔: https://go.volleyball.world/Subscribe... ▶▶ Watch ALL the Volleyball action https://go.volleyball.world/TV?ytv=d FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA 📱 Instagram: https://go.volleyball.world/Instagram... Russia rebounded from the previous evening's defeat to France with a 3-1 win over Canada, which brings the defending champions at 5-3 in the 2021 FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League. Here's the reaction after the game, from the virtual Mixed Zone: Arthur Szwarc (Canada): "A lot of thoughts after this game. We learnt a lot from them, because when you play against Russia you have to go out aggressively and if you don't compete at their level, they will kick you out. We have a good mentality right now. We are understanding what we are doing wrong and we understand what we have to do to fix it, every game we were close behind, but we are not just there yet. These are little pieces we have to fix, the little adjustments to make here and there, but we are on the right track." Igor Kobzar (Russia): "Yesterday's loss to France didn't give us positive emotions or confidence, so today we tried to regain our confidence and improve our game and communication. I'm very glad that we managed to win this game. Against us every team gives their best, showing their best volleyball, because they have nothing to lose and we play with a bit of pressure for the result. We performed very well today in block and serve. We all played at a higher level than yesterday." ►► Subscribe NOW & hit the bell! 🔔: https://go.volleyball.world/Subscribe... ▶▶ Watch ALL the Volleyball action https://go.volleyball.world/TV?ytv=d FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA 📱 Instagram: https://go.volleyball.world/Instagram... Tristán White and Sharon Crawford want to try and get as close to Selhurst Park as possible for the first day of the 2020-21 season for Crystal Palace FC vs Southampton. The match is of course played without a crowd because of the ongoing pandemic, but they at least hope to soak up as much of the local atmosphere as possible. A trip to The Cherry Tree (outside Norwood Junction train station) and the official CPFC club shop is a must.
