Spain became the first team to make their way into the semifinals of the Euro 2020 with a penalty shootout win over Switzerland after a 1-1 scoreline past 120 minutes. Denis Zakaria's 8th-minute own goal gave Spain the lead before Xherdan Shaqiri equalised for the Swiss. Jordi Alba's deflected off Zakaria and into the goal. Switzerland went a man down after Remo Freuler was awarded a red card for a cynical challenge. The match was 1-1 until the 120th minute and was forced into penalties. Spain missed two but Switzerland missed three penalties to give the Spaniards the win. In a night that can only be called a legendary night of European football, France and Switzerland were involved in yet another high-scoring thriller. In what can be called the upset of the tournament, World Cup winners France were knocked out by an insurgent Switzerland in a penalty shootout. Haris Seferovic gave the Swiss the lead in the 15th minute. But it was the French who reigned supreme and scored three goals on the trot in the second half after Ricardo Rodriguez's missed penalty. Karim Benzema scored twice and Paul Pogba netted a belter to give France a two-goal cushion. But the Swizz had other plans in mind as Seferovic pulled one back in the 81st minute and Mario Gavranovic scored the equaliser all the way in the 90th minute. Extra time was not enough to separate the sides as the game went into a penalty shootout. It was Yann Sommer who turned out to be the hero for the Swiss as he denied Kylian Mbappe from the spot to take his side through to the quarterfinals of Euro 2020 after pulling off an incredible heist.
MBAPPE'S REACTION TO THE PENALTY WILL MAKE YOU FEEL SORRY FOR HIM! FRANCE LEAVES THE EURO! SPAIN 5-3 CROATIA The Spanish national team reached the quarter-finals of the Euro! The match against Croatia turned out to be truly dramatic! It all started with Pedri's own goal - the midfielder gave the ball back to Unai Simon, who could not handle the ball properly. The Spaniards got one back in the 38th minute with Pablo Sarabia equalising the result. In the second half, Azpilicueta and Torres seemed to have decided the outcome in favor of Furia Roja. However, the Croats were back in the game through the efforts of Orsic and Pasalic. In extra time, the Spaniards were stronger - Morata and Oyarzabal brought Spain to the next stage. Our congratulations! FRANCE IS OUT OF EURO 2020! An equally impressive clash awaited us after the epic Croatia - Spain battle! France and Switzerland have presented one of the best games of the current Euro. The Swiss opened the scoreline thanks to Seferovic's goal, then the French took the lead with Benzema's efforts - Karim made it up to a brace in the 57th and 59th minutes. Pogba's goal was supposed to kill the intrigue, but Switzerland found the strength to turn things around - Seferovic and Gavranovic shocked the French defense. Then the match came to a penalty shootout, where the crucial mistake was made by Kylian Mbappe - what a save from Yann Sommer'... The striker was simply dazed by his mistake [SCREENS] - none of the French players supported Mbappe afterwards. But Pele did it: “Keep your head up, Kylian! Tomorrow will be the first day of a new journey, ”the legendary Pele wrote on Twitter. Mbappe himself said the following words: “I am sorry for the penalty. I wanted to help the team but I failed. It will be hard to sleep but sadly these are the risks of a sport that I love so much, ”stated Kylian. MBAPPE and KANTE WON'T WIN THE BALLON D’OR!? The knockout of the French national team at the round of 16 of the Euro means a significant decrease in the chances of Kylian Mbappé and N’golo Kante to receive the Ballon d'Or in 2021. Mbappe completely screwed up the tournament - he did not score a single goal, having only one assist. Kante also failed to bring the hype around his name to a new level. If Messi somehow wins Copa America with Argentina, his chances of getting the 7th Ballon d'Or would be very high. #mbappe #euro #footballnews

Let's Goo Football Lovers https://youtube.com/channel/UCDOdXiT4ACKE2D8g9SNTYPQ Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo tied the all-time men's record for international goals with a pair of penalties in a 2-2 draw with France in Group F in Budapest on Wednesday. The result sees both teams advance to the round of 16 at the 2020 European Championship. Portugal had the better of chances in the opening 30 minutes and went deservedly ahead through a Ronaldo penalty after France keeper Hugo Lloris fouled Danilo in the area as the two went for a free kick into the box. In his storied career, Ronaldo had done it all for club and country, so this was surprisingly his first goal against France in his career. Didier Deschamps' side drew level right before half-time when Nelsen Semedo brought down Kylian Mbappe in the area and Karim Benzema calmly slotted home from the spot -- his first goal for France since Oct. 8, 2015 -- to make it 1-1 at the break. Benzema doubled France's lead shortly after the restart, running on to a lovely pass from Paul Pogba over the top of the defence and firing a low shot past Rui Patricio to beat the Portugal keeper at his far post. However, Ronaldo wasn't done for Portugal, drawing his team back to level terms with another goal from the penalty spot following a whistle for handball on France's Jules Kounde in the area. The goal put Ronaldo on 109 goals for his career, level with Ali Daei's record set during his long career with Iran's national team. Patricio kept the scoreline level with a pair of impressive saves on a Pogba strike from distance and a close-range effort from Antoine Griezmann from the rebound. France advance in first place from Group F and will face Switzerland in the round of 16 on Monday, while Portugal move on as one of the best third-place finishers to set up a knockout-round match against Belgium on Sunday.

#EuroCup2021 #UEFAEuro #UefaEuro2020 Belgium finished the group stage with a perfect record as they won their third match on the trot, this time against Finland at the Saint-Petersburg Stadium. With no goals in the first half, Belgium were given the lead thanks to Lukas Hradecky's 74th-minute own goal. Romelu Lukaku, too, got on the scoresheet as he scored his side's second goal in the 81st minute. Kevin De Bruyne assisted Lukaku's goal. The match ended 0-2 to Belgium. Netherlands were winners in an absolutely top-class victory over North Macedonia at the Johan Cruijff Arena. Memphis Depay scored the first goal of the game in the 24th minute. He was assisted by Donyell Malen. Skipper Georginio Wijnaldum scored the next two goals for the Netherlands to take the scoreline to three goals. The match ended 0-3 to the Netherlands Denmark pulled off a fairytale story at the Euros with a fantastic 1-4 win over Russia and qualifying for the knockout stages. The game also consisted of two splendid goals by Mikkel Damsgaard and Andreas Christensen. Damsgard gave his team the lead with a goal in the 38th minute. Yussuf Poulsen doubled the lead in the 59th minute. But Russia managed to knock one back thanks to Artem Dzyuba's penalty. After that, it was the Danes who flew away with the win as they scored two more goals to take their tally to four goals. Christensen scored in the 79th minute and Joakim Mæhle scored in the 82nd minute. The match ended 1-4 to Denmark. Ukraine were outclassed by Austria in a 0-1 defeat at the Arena Naţională. In an especially poor outing for the Men In Yellow, misplaced passes and poor shots were a common sight for Andriy Shevchenko's men. Austria themselves could not take much advantage of Ukraine's poor form as they managed to score just one goal. Christoph Baumgartner was the goalscorer for the Austrians. Skipper David Alaba provided the assist for the goal. The match ended 0-1 to Austria.
Hungary 1-1 France: Hosts draw against World Champions, Griezmann nets equilizer 60,000 Fans witness their Hungary team gain a tough draw by Fiola's goal against mighty France Portugal 2-4 Germany: Hosts thrash Portugal as Havertz on target, Ronaldo nets A defeat to France with a toothless attack was hugely damaging for Germany's chances at Euro 2020, with many fans suggesting that the team would fall way short of success in the tournament, yet the team showed their class in a 4-2 victory over Portugal. Cristiano Ronaldo put Fernando Santos' charges ahead in the first half, completing a quite wonderful counter-attack from a German corner, with the Juventus man heading the ball clear in his own penalty area and getting on the final pass and scoring all within 13 seconds. Germany could have easily folded at this point, but it was obvious Portugal's opening goal was against the run of play. It took the 2014 world champions just 20 minutes to equalise, with Ruben Dias scoring an unfortunate own-goal 10 minutes from half-time. Before half-time, Germany were in front as Raphael Guerreiro also put the ball into his own net attempting to clear away a dangerous cross across the penalty area. Whilst the nature of the goals conceded were unfortunate, Portugal could have few complaints about the scoreline, with the midfield duo of Danilo Pereira and William Carvalho dooming the team to struggle to attack from the off. Kai Havertz made it 3-1 after 51 minutes before a Robin Gosens header put Die Mannschaft 4-1 ahead after an hour. Portugal pulled a goal back through Diogo Jota with 20 minutes left to play, but they were unable to push to make the game closer in the final minutes, although Renato Sanches' long-range strike was the closest they came. France's draw with Hungary has opened up the group ahead of the final matchday, with just one point separating Germany, France and Portugal. Spain 1-1 Poland: Lewy hits equaliser to save Poland from defeat, Morata nets Spain's Euro 2020 frustrations continued as they settled for a 1-1 draw with Poland in Group E action on Saturday night at the Estadio La Cartuja in Seville. Alvaro Morata gave his side a first half lead, only to see world class striker Robert Lewandowski answer for Poland in the second period. Still, La Roja had the three points on a silver platter via the penalty spot, but Gerard Moreno's attempt struck the woodwork instead of the back of the net, resulting in a share of the spoils. Spain are now faced with a must-win on Wednesday against Slovakia to ensure that their title hopes remain intact. Head coach Luis Enrique was true to his word when he announced in his pre-match press conference on Friday that his starting XI would be Morata "and 10 others", with the maligned Juventus man up front along with Moreno, who came in for Ferran Torres in what was the only change from the previous line-up against Sweden. Morata's moment would come midway through the half, with a bit of a boost from VAR, as it was ruled that Morata's redirect into net off a Moreno shot came from an onside position, giving Spain a 1-0 lead. Poland kept pressing for an equaliser and it arrived in short order in the second half when Lewandowski out-muscled Aymeric Laporte in front of goal and headed in a cross from Kamil Jozwiak to bring the visitors level 1-1. More drama was to come just minutes later when a penalty went in Spain's favour via VAR for a Mateusz Klich foul on Moreno in the Polish area, but the Villarreal man's spot kick banged off the post and the rebounded shot from Morata missed the mark with the goal wide open. Luis Enrique went to his bench for the first time right after the hour mark, with Ferran Torres on for Dani Olmo, followed a bit later by Pablo Sarabia and Fabian Ruiz for Koke and Moreno, respectively. Spain mounted the pressure as time continued ticking toward full-time, the most glaring chance being for Morata after a chested-down pass from Ferran Torres, but veteran Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny came up with a massive save. Luis Enrique's last roll of the dice saw Mikel Oyarzabal on for Morata, but it mattered little in what was an unimaginative close to the match from the fancied hosts, who now have a lot of work to do in their group finale on Wednesday. #footballindepth #euro2020 #GERPOR
