Hakkinen Explains Possible Reason Why Verstappen’s Teammates Are Failing

Max Verstappen showing strongly at first but then fading away” He further elaborated on Red Bull’s core problem “As I have said before, Red Bull Racing suffers from being a one-car team at many races, and again we saw a difficult race for Alex Albon, who finished one lap behind his teammate” “This is unusual since Alex is clearly a capable driver, just as Pierre Gasly was before him, yet driving the second Red Bull seems to be a problem. I am certain that Christian Horner recognizes how important it is for them to find a solution soon” Hakkinen signed off by reiterating Red Bull’s problem “A car setup which is too Verstappen-specific could be the issue, and it is really noticeable how much more competitive Pierre has been since moving back to Red Bull’s junior team” Fast Feed AlphaTauri team principal Franz Tost is “delighted that Pierre will remain with” them “for the 2021 season” He further pointed out that Gasly “has been part of the Red Bull driver pool for many years and” he hopes Gasly “will remain in the Red Bull family for many seasons ahead” He further praised Pierre for being “highly competitive, thanks to his great race craft, extracting the car’s potential at every race and giving valuable feedback to his engineers” Gasly, meanwhile, announced that he is “extremely happy to continue with Scuderia AlphaTauri for another season!” He also laid emphasis on the fact that “this year is going very well, and” they “are on track to have” their “most successful season in the team’s history” Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo feels that the tag of ‘best of the rest’ “is an ungrateful place of honor” as Max Verstappen can never seriously challenge for a win at most races He further added that this has “been the case for years for everyone who does not drive at Mercedes. Very tiring” Former F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone feels that “Red Bull should” sign Nico Hulkenberg as “he is fast, smart and always says what he thinks” He further added that Hulkenberg “is not like other drivers who do exactly what is asked of them” which is a type that “fits Red Bull” Former F1 driver turned commentator Johnny Herbert feels that defending world champion Lewis Hamilton is “the best racing driver” Britain has “ever had” which is why he “deserves” to be knighted Mika Hakkinen has stated that “a lot of people say Lewis drives the best car, but there's nothing easy about driving these complex machines and driving them to their limits” Alex Albon is of the opinion that Portimao “was one of” his “stronger weekends this year” in regards to his practice and qualifying Should Lewis Hamilton be knighted?
