LA BANDA DEL INDIO EN EL PARTIDO CUCUTA DEPORTIVO 1-0 SANTA FE en la 2° fecha de la LIGA AGUILA 2019
Cúcuta Deportivo e Independiente Santa Fe se enfrentaron en el estadio General Santander en la segunda jornada de la Liga Águila II - 2019. Era el encuentro entre Patricio Camps, técnico del equipo bogotano y Pablo Garabello, el entrenador del de la frontera. Los dos, exayudantes de José Pékerman en la Selección Colombia. La pelea se la llevó el segundo. El partido comenzó con el equipo de Camps presionando y teniendo el balón. Santa Fe fue mejor que su rival, creó algunas jugadas de riesgo, ninguna de ellas con posibilidad real de marcar una desventaja en el marcador. A pesar de que los visitantes habían tenido más control y opciones, fue el Cúcuta el que creó una chance concreta que también desperdició. Henry Obando sorprendió a la defensa capitalina con un remate cruzado por derecha que cogió bien parado a Leandro Castellanos que evitó el primer gol de los locales de Garabello. El primer tiempo terminó sin goles y sin más emociones. Luis Manuel Séijas se fue del partido por un golpe con un rival que no le permitió continuar. Fue reemplazado por Jhon Velásquez. En la segunda parte, Santa Fe volvió a tener el balón. Quiso desgastar a su rival y jugar al contraataque pero le faltó profundidad y puntería. Y al minuto 51, un error le hizo ver la derrota por primera vez en el semestre. Brayan Perea erró un pase y dejó mal parado al equipo. Luis Miranda recibió el balón, remató y Leandro Castellanos cortó el disparo. Sin embargo, el rebote le volvió a quedar a Miranda para convertir con el arco solo. La victoria fue para el Cúcuta Deportivo y para Garabello que suman ya seis puntos en la Liga Águila II - 2019. Santa Fe y Camps, por su parte, solo tienen un punto. En la próxima jornada, los de la frontera visitará a Envigado y Santa Fe recibirá a Alianza Petrolera.

Muchas opciones de gol tuvo la Selección Colombia en su amistoso ante Australia. Pero no concretó ni el penalti de Miguel Ángel Borja y se tuvo que conformar con un empate ante los australianos. Le quedan muy buenas sensaciones al entrenador argentino José Pékerman, que pudo observar varias alternativas y opciones para el juego de la selección de cara a la conformación de la lista de 23 jugadores para el Mundial.
