CONCORD moved to within one game of the FA Cup's first-round proper as second-half goals from Steve Cawley and James White gave them a battling comeback win over Histon. They were heading out with 20 minutes to go after a 40th minute penalty from Kaine Sheppard, following a foul by Leon Gordon, gave the Conference North visitors the lead following a poor first half. But Cawley, who scored a brace in the last round win over St Ives, popped up with an opportunistic 71st minute goal and then White swept home from a Reece Harris corner minutes later to complete the turnaround in front of a packed crowd at the Aspect Arena. It secured £7,500 in prize money and, more importantly for the Beachboys, a place in the fourth qualifying round for the first time in their history. Concord boss Danny Cowley said: "We targeted that first round proper at the start of the season and we're one step closer now. "And whatever happens, it's a proud day for the club to reach this stage of the competition for the first time ever." Concord's local rivals Canvey also got through with a 2-1 home win over North Greenford, and the island derby foes will be keeping a close eye on Monday's draw, which is being made live on TalkSPORT radio at 10.30am.
