IPL 2022 Mega auction: CSK Auction targets | Delay in IPL auction? | Kohli vs BCCI | IPL news Tamil #ipl #ipl2022 #ipldraft #ipl2022tamil #iplschedule #iplnews #vivoipl Reports: KL Rahul likely to be named Lucknow skipper, Shreyas Iyer in captaincy contention for Ahmedabad In what can be called a major development, two new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises, based in Lucknow and Ahmedabad respectively, have finalized the three players they’ll pick ahead of the players’ auction. As per the reports, KL Rahul, who wasn’t retained by Punjab Kings, is likely to lead the Lucknow-based team. Rashid Khan are Ishan Kishan are the other two players who’ll accompany the 29-year-old. As far as the Ahmedabad franchise is concerned, Shreyas Iyer, who parted ways with Delhi Capitals, would lead them. While Hardik Pandya is the other player picked in the team, either Quinton de Kock or David Warner would be the other pick in the team. For the unversed, the two new franchises are allowed to make a maximum of three picks from the list of non-retained players ahead of the next season’s bidding event. As a mega auction is in the pipeline, teams were allowed to retain just a maximum of four players, out of which only two can be foreign retentions. Hence, Lucknow and Ahmedabad have a lot of options to choose from. While the deadline to finalize the picks in December 25, sources close to ABP news have revealed that the players and even the captain is selected. Also an update was provided on the CSK Auction targets. Ravi ashwin, Washington sundar, Shah rukh khan and Shikhar dhawan are touted to be in CSK's radar. Wait on CVC decision continues The wait on the Ahmedabad franchise, bought by CVC Sports, continues. Although there is an air of optimism for a possible settlement soon, the BCCI authorities have been inexplicably silent on the matter. It is learnt that a retired judge of the Supreme Court has been consulted and his advice is being awaited. One notable development that has come to light recently is that the expert advice has gone against awarding the franchise to the second-highest bidder, should the BCCI decide to cancel the allocation of the franchise to the American investment firm. The BCCI, apparently, will have to go for rebidding, which may offset a lot of the IPL planning. This was a genius play call and it shows that the champs are sharp coming into the new season, but most importantly, their leader Giannis, looks like he improved in the off season and could be unstoppable. Let me explain why. What up everybody, my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it. Early on in the game we see the Greek Freak here bring the ball up in transition and go to this specific spot on the court. The stop, the pull up and the bucket. Raising up off the dribble like this is a completely different story than these 5-6 dribbles in 1 place with opponents literally giving him the open shot. And look at how fluid this looks. Face up at the elbow, surveying the floor, decides to use his mismatch, and goes into the backdown, gets to where he wants, turnaround fadeaway...nothing but net. He started getting comfortable with this shot in the playoffs, and seeing how unstoppable that was I wanted to see him continuing to work on it, and getting better and better. So this looks beautiful. Again look at the fluidity here. The between the legs, the jab, and then this almost 1 motion shot. The form looks much improved and I like where this is going. Even from downtown, check out how comfortably he steps into this shot in transition. And he has a hand in his face but it doesn’t matter. Bang. Dude went 2 for 3 from downtown but more importantly, I gotta emphasize it, the shot looks natural, looks nice, and Giannis appears very comfortable while taking it. We knew that he wasn’t afraid to take the shots. After all, that’s how the Bucks won last year, he put them on his back and went through every obstacle. And even tho this is a very limited sample size from the preseason, but if he is developing a reliable jumper, he will legitimately be unstoppable. This could have been the single most important adjustment that happened this summer. Moving on, I also love how the Greek Freak was able to find his teammates in this game. You already know this scary looking attack with him getting a head of steam in transition. Goes left, into the spin and if we stop it here, you see how both Gobert and Bogdanovic gotta be there. So check out how Antetokounmpo was able to find Lopez straight off the spin. This is great awareness and reaction by Giannis. On this play, not much to break down but it’s a great 1-2 connection between Middleton and Giannis. Everything happens in the blink of an eye and the Jazz were just eyewitnesses to this amazing execution. I like the patience on this possession as it’s clear to me that he can bulldoze past Eric Paschall, but Giannis backs him down while keeping an eye on the entire floor. Brook Lopez slips to the basket and Antetokounmpo notices that, finds him down low and the easy finish. Terrific job of keeping an eye on the entire court and finding the open guy. And speaking of the open guy, someone that will benefit in a great way will definitely be Grayson Allen. He’s been hovering around 40% from three these past two seasons and even tho he didn’t have a great game in this one, you can only imagine the looks that he will get throughout the season, and there’s no way that the percentage can go down as long as he’s playing on this team. This is definitely 1 thing to follow as Allen is a sneaky good signing for the Bucks and could end up being an extremely important piece in a deep playoff run. Even after winning the championship, I feel like this team did not get enough credit, and we are all kind of penciling in the Brooklyn Nets as the automatic number 1 seed in the Eastern conference as well as the favorite to go to the finals. However, with all the drama from the past few weeks, as well as the newest developments suggesting that Kyrie Irving will not play for the Nets this year, it becomes more interesting and more uncertain in terms of which team is actually the best in the East. And that is even more true now as we see the off season improvement for Giannis. If this translates into this year, things are really about to get crazy, so buckle up. VILLANOVA, Pa. – A 47-point second half and some defensive stops midway through the period helped No. 7/6 Villanova pull away from Saint Joseph's for an 88-68 victory at Finneran Pavilion Saturday night. Sophomore Jeremiah Robinson-Earl – playing with a protective mask after suffering a broken nose in Wednesday night's 85-66 win over Butler – scored 25 points, including 14 in the second half. Junior Caleb Daniels added 19 points and sophomore Justin Moore contributed 18 points for the Wildcats, who improved to 7-1 overall, 2-0 BIG EAST with their fifth consecutive triumph. Saint Joseph's fell to 0-4 overall, 0-0 Atlantic Ten, in this battle of Philadelphia Big Five rivals. The Wildcats connected on 17-fof-29 second half field goals (.607) after struggling to find the range in the first half (.417). "This was a very good game for us," stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright. "They are a very difficult team to guard. They are very unorthodox offensively with five guys out who can really shoot it. They cut hard and move well. "I thought we had a really good stretch in the second half where we defended them and that's what created the separation. They're going to be good and they're missing a couple of good players. They'll get healthy and be better. That's going to be a good win." The Wildcats built a 14-5 lead through first five minutes of action thanks to a sharp offensive attack. But the Hawks turned four straight defensive stops into a 10-0 run to take the lead at 15-14 with just more than 12 minutes to play in the period. A Cole Swider 3-pointer gave Nova back the lead 17-15 on the next possession. "They can do that to you because they play fast and can score quickly," Wright noted. After sinking five of their first nine, Villanova struggled to find an offensive flow, dropping in just 5-of-21 over the next 10 minutes of action. Saint Joseph's pulled to within 26-25 before the Wildcats responded with a 13-3 surge sparked by Jermaine Samuels, who provided five points in that stretch. At halftime, Villanova held a 41-33 lead over Saint Joseph's. Robinson-Earl supplied 11 points in the period while Samuels added nine points. Villanova offset a .417 first half field goal percentage by forcing seven Hawks turnovers, which resulted in a 9-0 edge in points off of turnovers. In the early stages of the second half, Robinson-Earl asserted himself as the offensive end. The sophomore scored 10 points in the first 8:29 of the period to help the Wildcats build a 62-50 lead over the Hawks. He explained after the game that this was the second time he had broken his nose. It also happened in the eighth grade. As luck would have it his mother, Katie Robinson, still had the mask he had donned back then and dropped it off at Villanova. It fit and he donned it in time for Friday's practice. "It's not too bad," he said. "You're focused on what you're doing and don't really pay that much attention to it while you're out there." Robinson-Earl also added seven rebounds to the cause as part of a 37- carom effort by the Wildcats. Wright also pointed to the efforts of Daniels and Moore. "They are two talented guards," said Wright. "Teams pay so much attention to Collin (Gillespie), as they did tonight, that it really frees Caleb and Justin up to make plays." Villanova is next slated to visit Marquette in a BIG EAST clash set for Wednesday night (FS1 and 95.7 Ben FM). That will be the Wildcats' final scheduled contest before Christmas Day.
