The venue for the first game is Brian Lara Cricket Stadium in Tarouba Trinidad and India would be hoping to dominate the proceedings like they did in the final ODI at the same venue couple of days back. West Indies though have some quality T20 superstars and we can expect a close intense affair. Rovman Powell will lead West Indies in T20Is and he would be looking to get back into some form after a torrid run in recent past. Along with him West Indies have powerful batters like Kyle Mayers Charles Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran who would be itching to translate his Major League Cricket form in international cricket. Hope and Holder are also back in the T20 setup while the bowling too looks pretty good with Akeal Hosein and Obed McCoy back in the mix. Expect Windies to give India a tough fight. India on the other hand have plenty of players who will be itching to prove a point at the international level. They might rest Shubman Gill and hand Yashasvi Jaiswal his debut in T20Is while Tilak Varma could also make his debut. The presence of Samson Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya make India a dangerous batting unit. Yuzvendra Chahal might finally get a game on this tour while Arshdeep Singh would add more strength to a young Indian pace attack. Can West Indies stop a rampant Indian unit and take a 1-0 lead in this T20I series? We shall find out. Suryakumar Yadav is a key member in the T20I team and he'll be hoping to get himself going in a format which has worked out well for him after an average showing in the ODI series. Umran Malik will be keen to find his rhythm and put the West Indian batters in a spot having not been at his best in the 50-over games. Meanwhile Mukesh Kumar after showcasing his skills in the Test and ODI formats in his maiden series for India will look to make a mark in the T20I format too if he is handed a debut. India have a plethora of spin options and it remains to be seen who among them get the nod. The West Indies side have plenty of quality players in their line-up but this will again be a fresh start for them after their poor showing in the T20 World Cup in Australia last year. They did win 2-1 against South Africa earlier this year and will be hoping to reflect on those performances as they look to challenge India who are starting a new journey of their own as the old guard makes way for new if the recent selections are anything to go by. What to expect: In the last match at this venue India scored 350-plus batting first in the third ODI and a similar batting-friendly wicket could be on offer. Will India rest Shubman Gill and give Jaiswal an opportunity at the top of the order to partner Ishan Kishan or play the former at No.3? Tilak or Sanju Samson for the middle order? Who among three wrist spin options and which pacer to leave out? set the ball rolling in terms of preparations for the next year's T20 World Cup which will be held in the Caribbean and the United States. Plenty of selection headaches for captain Hardik Pandya and the team management. Nicholas Pooran who missed the ODI series owing to his participation in Major League Cricket returns to the T20I side fresh off a match-winning 137 not out. The presence of Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope lend heft to the setup as does the return of Oshane Thomas to the pace department. who have played for India before but have gone off the radar a bit will be hoping to make the most of the platform. The Tigers won the toss and going against the trend of the competition so far, decided to bat first. This decision back-fired for the Tigers, as they lost the skipper Chris Lynn in the very first over. The Canadian youngster Muhammad Kamal found Lynn's middle stump. The Knights bowling unit of Ruben Trumpelmann, Junaid Siddique, and Corbin Bosch was on fire. Trumpelmann started off with a maiden. Dilpreet Singh played a couple of lovely strokes before chopping one onto his stumps. Trumpelmann struck twice in his next over getting, Rutherford and Wijeratne in consecutive deliveries. Muhammad Waseem held one end of the pitch for some time before perishing to Harsh Thaker. Andre Russell joined Dipendra Airee for a couple of overs before Trumpelmann got the Big Man. Next over Siddique got Airee, bringing the score to 90 runs for 7 wickets. The last 3 wickets only got 9 runs for the Tigers. They ended up on 99, giving the Knights a target of 100 runs to chase. The Knights in their chase started off with Rizwan hitting 3 fours in the very first over. Andre Russell broke the opening partnership when one of his deliveries pierced through Fakhar Zaman's wickets. Corbin Bosch then joined Mohammad Rizwan in the middle. They both approached the chase with maturity, running ones and twos and hitting boundaries when required. In a short target, Mohammad Rizwan scored another unbeaten 50, taking his team to another important victory.
