GT20 Canada Season 3 | Match - 12 Highlights | Vancouver Knights v Brampton Wolves

#gt20canada #gt20season3 #cricketsnorth An unbeaten Brampton Wolves were up against the Vancouver Knights, who have been unlucky after playing some good cricket, find themselves in the bottom half of the table. The Knights got an added boost in their confidence, as Mohammad Rizwan came to the ground straight from the airport ready to play. The Knights skipper Rassie mentioned this during the toss, as he won and chose to field first. The Wolves openers found it hard from the beginning with some tight bowling and fielding from the Knights. In the fourth over, Ruben Trumpelmann opened the gates of the Wolves wickets. The Wolves lost half of their team within 11 runs. The Knights' pacer, Corbin Bosch was bowling superbly, with accurate line and length, and pace to which the Wolves had no answers. The Pakistani all-rounder, Hussain Talat stuck around for some time along with Chris Green. The Knights brought back Ruben for his fourth over, where he broke the partnership and got Hussain Talat out on a bouncer, forcing him to play a pull shot straight to the fielder. It was looking difficult for the Wolves to even cross the mark of 100 runs, but a late blitz from the Wolves tail-enders took them to a score of 129. The Knights' opening pair of Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan looked in no hurry to chase the total. They settled in comfortably and then played their strokes. It was the leading wicket-taker of the tournament, Logan van Beek to provide a breakthrough for the Wolves, getting rid of Fakhar Zaman. The Knights shuffled their batting order, sending Corbin Bosch at number 3. Bosch along with Rizwan cruised their way to the target. The energy from Rizwan was outstanding during the whole match, at no point did it seem that Rizwan travelled from Colombo to Toronto overnight. He was running ones and twos, diving across to make it to the crease, and was determined to chase the total. Both these batters made the chase comfortably without any fuss. The Knights won by 9 wickets in the end with 2.5 overs to spare. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Click on the link to subscribe to GT20 Canada: https://bit.ly/32UcUdi Click on the link below to follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/gt20canada/ Click on the link below to follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/gt20canada Click on the link below to follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/GT20Canada To check out the stats, tap the link below: https://gt20.ca/

GT20 Canada Season 3 | Match - 8 Highlights | Toronto Nationals vs Surrey Jaguars

#gt20canada #gt20season3 #cricketsnorth The morning after the rest day, everyone was geared up to take the field, but the rain had a different plan. There was some heavy shower before the start of the play, but it soon cleared out and only 2 overs were reduced per side. At the toss, the Nationals won the toss and decided to put the Jaguars up to bat. Alex Hales got a new partner in Jatinder Singh to open the innings. The aggressive batter from Oman got off to a flyer, playing some exquisite strokes before a sharp catch from JJ Smit got the better of him. Alex Hales looked was not finding the middle of the bat and was soon done by a brilliant delivery from Saad bin Zafar. Some tight and accurate bowling from the Nationals saw the Jaguars lose some quick wickets. A much-awaited contest in the middle was Shahid Afridi bowling to Iftikhar Ahmed, and it was worth watching. The legend Shahid Afridi was unhappy with some sloppy work in the field by the Nationals. With the skipper Iftikhar and the youngster Forde taking charge, the Jaguars scored with a quick run rate that powered them to a good first innings score. The chase for the Nationals was slow, as Spencer Johnson and Matthew Forde were accurate with their line and length. The pressure built up on the Nationals and they lost 2 wickets in an over to Matthew Forde. Gerhard Erasmus too threw away his wicket, scoring just 5 runs. The southpaw Colin Munro was then joined by the Canadian youngster, Armaan Kapoor, who helped his senior partner settle the chase. It was the magician from Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane who got his side 2 quick wickets, removing both the set batters in a space of 3 balls. The next over Forde got rid of Faheem Ashraf. This brought the Namibian all-rounder JJ Smit to the middle to join Boom Boom Afridi. The Namibian took the role of the aggressor and played some powerful strokes when his countryman Bernard Scholtz got him caught at the boundary. The Canadian captain, Saad bin Zafar was met with an unplayable delivery from Spenser Johnson first up, which he didn't read and got bowled. Some last-over Boom Boom from Afridi, but that couldn't take the Nationals over the line. #gt20canada #gt20season3 #cricketsnorth The Panthers losing both their games were up against a strong-looking Tigers. The Tigers' skipper won the toss and decided to bowl first, continuing the trend of this tournament till now. The Tigers' bowlers were on song from the start, removing both the openers in the first two overs. The Panthers seemed to be in deep trouble, having no answers to the disciplined bowling from the Tigers. Navneet Dhaliwal and Azam Khan had a little partnership between them, but soon Shakib Al Hasan removed the dangerous-looking Azam Khan. The Kiwi international Jimmy Neesham then joined Dhaliwal in the middle. Another little partnership between these settled the Panthers' momentum, but a string of wickets in quick succession hampered that momentum. Jimmy Neesham displayed all his experience and ability and took the Panthers to a score of 140. The chase for the Tigers started off on an unlikely note, Muhammad Waseem mistimed one off Jaskaran that went straight to Usman Qadir who pouched it with ease. The next to come in was Shakib Al Hasan, who came into the middle with positive intent. Both experienced players took charge of the Panthers' bowling attack. The Tigers were looking comfortable in their chase. A moment of excellence from Azam Khan brought a little ray of hope to the Panthers' side when Azam removed Shakib with a lightning stumping. This didn't faze Chris Lynn a bit who was going at his own pace. With some assistance from Sherfane Rutherford, Chris Lynn finished off the chase with ease and in style. Montreal Tigers won the match with 7 wickets. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Click on the link to subscribe to GT20 Canada: https://bit.ly/32UcUdi Click on the link below to follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/gt20canada/ Click on the link below to follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/gt20canada Click on the link below to follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/GT20Canada To check out the stats, tap the link below: https://gt20.ca/

GT20 Canada Season 3 | Match - 5 Highlights | Brampton Wolves vs Toronto Nationals

#gt20canada #gt20season3 #cricketsnorth Both the teams coming into this contest high on confidence, bagging 2 points each winning their previous games. Tim Southee from the Wolves and Hamza Tariq from the Nationals came out for the coin toss. Wolves won the toss and asked the Nationals to bat first. No change in the Playing XI for both the teams. Hamza Tariq opened the innings with his partner Colin Munro. The skipper started off the innings with a positive intent, taking on the Wolves bowlers. It was a familiar affair for Munro as the opposition had a number of Kiwis on their side. Tariq's party was ended by Tim Southee thanks to a spectacular grab from Chris Green. The Canadian international Nicholas Kirton then joined his fellow Southpaw in the middle. Kirton was scoring at a swift pace, while Munro played a supporting role. Soon, Logan van Beek came into the attack and removed Colin Munro. This made way for Shahid Afridi to enter with 11 overs remaining. Afridi looked good in the middle, but his namesake from the Wolves - Shahid Ahmadzai found the piece of Afridi's timber. The very next ball Ahmadzai removed Gerhard Erasmus. A string of wickets brought the Wolves back into the game. With small contributions from Faheem Ashraf and Saad bin Zafar, the Nationals were able to post 142 on the board. From the Wolves it was Usman Khan and Aaron Johnson who started the chase. It was Zaman Khan who struck the first blow with his loopy slow yorker right at the bottom of Usman's middle stump. This marked the arrival of Mark Chapman to the crease who started from the word go. Once again Zaman Khan struck for the Nationals getting rid of Aaron Johnson and soon Faheem Ashraf removed Mark Chapman. The big guy Colin de Grandhomme found Shahid Afridi's hands off Farhan Malik's bowling. These fall of wickets brought the young Pakistani all-rounder Hussain Talat and the Canadian legend Rizwan Cheema. Together these two brought the chase back into the Wolves' favour. The specialist death bowling line-up of the Nationals brought chaos into the Wolves camp. But Rizwan Cheema held off one end and brought the target closer to their reach. Shahid Afridi then took matters into his own hands, bowled the 18th over, and got 2 consecutive wickets. The Wolves needed just 2 runs off 8 balls, when Chris Green gave away his wicket, bringing the last batter in the middle. The Nationals went to their most experienced player Shahid Afridi, asking for a miracle, which he almost pulled off. The Wolves scored the winning runs in the second last ball and got 2 crucial points. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Click on the link to subscribe to GT20 Canada: https://bit.ly/32UcUdi Click on the link below to follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/gt20canada/ Click on the link below to follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/gt20canada Click on the link below to follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/GT20Canada To check out the stats, tap the link below: https://gt20.ca/
