Nuggets’ Jamal Murray Hits Another Game-Winner To End Lakers’ Season. After finally snapping their losing streak to the Denver Nuggets in Game 4 to stave off elimination, the Los Angeles Lakers looked to build off that in Game 5 back at Ball Arena. #NBA #LAKERS #NUGGETS The Lakers’ season was of course still on the line with them facing a 3-1 series deficit, and it came to an unfortunate end on another Jamal Murray buzzer-beater to secure a 108-106 victory for the Nuggets. Murray was a game-time decision due to a left calf strain but was able to give it a go and got the scoring started with the first six points for his team to give the Nuggets a 6-3 lead. After Darvin Ham won an early challenge on an Austin Reaves foul call on a Murray 3-point attempt, the Lakers responded with eight straight points to take their first lead and force a Denver timeout. Unfortunately though, Rui Hachimura missed some wide open looks while Jamal Murray stayed hot to put the Nuggets up 16-13. From there though, the Nuggets started committing some silly turnovers with LeBron James and Anthony Davis taking advantage in the paint. Denver ended the first quarter on a 10-0 run, however, taking a 28-24 lead. After a rough first quarter, D’Angelo Russell got on the scoreboard with a layup to begin the second before connecting from deep. James and Davis continued to do work inside from there with the Lakers locking in defensively to take a 41-34 advantage with a 12-0 run of their own. The rest of the second quarter was a lot of back-and-forth scoring as well as bad turnovers by each team. For the fifth straight time though, the Lakers went into the halftime locker room with a lead at 53-50. Hachimura missed a number of wide open shots in the first half but began the third quarter by hitting one from deep. Davis was then hit on the shoulder by Michael Porter Jr. and went down in a lot of pain although ultimately was able to stay in there for his team despite clearly not being at 100%. With Davis hobbled, other guys needed to step up and James sense that, scoring five straight to increase the lead to nine. Naturally though, Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets responded with five quick points of their own to keep it close. After a four-point play by Porter, the game was tied and the Denver crowd was rocking. Davis was forced back to the locker room from there, and the Nuggets kept that momentum rolling. Sensing things slipping away though, James and the Lakers had a nice response to close the third, getting within two at 81-79. Given how poorly both teams played in the first three quarters, it made sense that things were close going into the final stretch, tied at 95 with four minutes to play. Of course it was Jokic that put the Nuggets up two in the final couple minutes, although the Lakers quickly answered back with a Reaves 3. Inability to get a rebound hurt the Lakers though and Murray made them pay with a three to go up two. James as then fouled and went to the line to tie it with 26 seconds to play and did exactly that. Again though, Murray hit the game-winner and the Lakers season came to an end. Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry combine for memorable win | Round 4 | Zurich Classic | 2024

In the final round of the 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry shoot a 4-under 68 to force a playoff with Chad Ramey and Martin Trainer. On the first playoff hole, McIlroy and Lowry make a par that sealed McIlroy’s 25th PGA TOUR title and Lowry’s third. SUBSCRIBE to PGA TOUR now: http://pgat.us/vBxcZSh The PGA TOUR heads to New Orleans this week for the Zurich Classic at TPC Louisiana. This is the only two-man team event on the PGA TOUR schedule. Rory McIlroy makes his tournament debut alongside good friend, Ryder Cup teammate and fellow Irishman Shane Lowry. McIlroy is looking to build some momentum this season, as he has posted only one top-15 thus far (third at the Valero Texas Open). Lowry recently went T4-3rd-T19 on the Florida Swing. Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele play together this week in an attempt to claim the title back after their victory in 2022. Cantlay played well for a T3 finish last week at the RBC Heritage, while Schauffele’s T2 at THE PLAYERS Championship and 8th place finish at the Masters will give him confidence. The pair claimed T4 in defense of their title last year. Davis Riley and Nick Hardy will defend their 2023 title this week. No team has ever gone back-to-back at this event. Others to look out for are Sahith Theegala and Will Zalatoris, as well as three sets of brothers including Alex and Matt Fitzpatrick, Rasmus and Nicolai Højgaard and Parker and Pierceson Coody. From pure chaos of a game, to a superstar altercation in Dallas, and a debacle in Phoenix. But we gotta start with the most chaotic game of the playoffs. And it was like that from the start. The crowd was absolutely rocking in Indiana, as the Pacers blitzed Milwaukee with a double digit lead early on. The Bucks only scored 6 field goals for the entire first quarter as it seemed like Indi would blow them out in game 3. After that initial avalanche, and with Lillard having a horrific half of 2 for 10, Milwaukee felt okay with being down just 12 points at the break. And they continued to chip away at the deficit, setting up a wild 4th quarter. With the Pacers clinging to a 1 point lead in the final minute, it was crucial for them to score on this possession so… What a clutch rebound for Siakam the bucket and the foul for a chance to put the Bucks away, buut he misses, leaving the door open for Milwaukee to extend the game and play the foul game. So with the weight of the world on his shoulders, Nesmith stays ice cold at the line and knocks down 2 huge free throws. So now, whatever you do, don’t allow the three… Oh my goodness what a shot by Middleton to bring back Milwaukee from the dead, and we go to overtime. The entire arena is deflated, and in OT, Indi is playing catch up, trying to hang with the Bucks. And what follows is an epic display of the fight and will to win of a young team, mixed in with the fear and inexperience with the game on the line. Unbelievable…This was a combined possession of more than a minute and a half. Amazing effort by the Pacers, but they didn’t know how to capitalize on that, so we got Middleton at the line and he calmly sinks both, so now all of a sudden the Pacers need to save themselves… And on the other end, phenomenal contest by Nesmith to force this miss, and then things escalate because…. A colossal shot by Nesmith to once again give the Pacers a 3 point lead, so now again, don’t allow the three. This is pure madness! Middleton goes hero mode again with another crazy shot to tie the game, shocking the entire arena. But this would set up the final scene of this thriller… Tyrese send the entire arena into a frenzy! Are you kidding me?! What a wild ride of a game. He makes the free throw as well, and we all know who’s gonna take this shot right?! Wooow what a game, without a doubt the wildest of the playoffs, as I gave it a 9.5 on rategame. Download it from the link in the description and start rating with me. Moving on to Dallas where Luka started to really pull the Clippers defense apart in the second quarter. Yeah that’s Kawhi Leonard who Luka is saying is too small. Doncic was rolling, the role players were benefiting off of his assists, and the Clippers couldn’t follow this pace. So the Mavs went on a run and by half time this was a 13 point lead. LA fought in the third quarter, and just when they thought they would have some kind of momentum at the end, leading into the 4th, Kyrie said not a chance. The Mavs sensed that they could put an end to this game early, so right in the first minute, Luka and Kyrie went to work. And the entire arena exploded on this fast break… Seeing that this game is slipping away, the frustration was building for the Clippers, and things got heated at the end… Westbrook with a disrespectful move towards Doncic, but Luka stays calm and of course his enforces will step in and do the dirty work here as PJ WASHINGTON takes over and handles things. As it turns out, this would be the most interesting thing in the 4th quarter with the Mavs easily won this game for a 2-1 series lead, and I rated it with a 6.2 on rategame. And in Phoenix, this was essentially a must win game for the Suns, so I was curious to see if there was going to be a big run at the start similar to how it was in Indiana. However not only did Minnesota had answer for every bucket, but they went on the break with a 6 point advantage provided by their suffocating defense once again. And then, the familiar script from every game in this series. The Timberwolves go on a huge run in the third quarter. And just like that it’s a 20 point lead on the road. Once again the Suns don’t have an answer for Minnesota in the third quarter. There would be frustration for Phoenix as well and some back and forth chirping but nothing really notable, as Anthony Edwards and the Wolves were able to go in there and completely quiet the crowd taking a commanding 3-0 lead and everything points out to an exciting second round matchup against the reigning champions the Denver Nuggets. This was only a 5.8 on rategame but we got a 4 game slate for tonight so I’ll see you guys on there.
