Punjab defeats Chennai with the aid of Livingstone | IPL | NewsRme
On Sunday, Punjab Kings beat Chennai Super Kings by 54 runs thanks to Liam Livingstone's 60 and two wickets. Livingstone led his club to 180 for eight in Mumbai, becoming the most expensive foreign player in this season's IPL auction. Punjab then bowled Chennai for 126 in 18 overs, including two wickets for spinner Shivam Dube (57). After two disappointing games, Livingstone was pleased to contribute to a victory. "We went to a defendable target and the seam bowers put it up for us." It was the holders' third defeat in the Twenty20 event this season. According to new Chennai captain Ravindra Jadeja, "we lost too many wickets in the powerplay and never got going." "We shall do our best. Work hard and resurrect." Livingstone hit five fours and five sixes in his 32-ball performance and put up 95 runs with Shikhar Dhawan for the third wicket. Livingstone hammered Chennai left-arm medium Mukesh Choudhary for the largest six of the tournament so far at 108 yards. He hit fifty off Chennai veteran Dwayne Bravo but was bowled by Ravindra Jadeja's left-arm spin.
