Three goals in eight minutes at the start of the second half turned the game in Tottenham Hotspur’s favour as Brentford fell to a narrow defeat in north London. The Bees led at the interval thanks to Neal Maupay’s scrambled finish, but Spurs’ Destiny Udogie, Brennan Johnson and Richarlison all struck in a frantic period after the break. Ivan Toney pulled one back following Udogie’s misjudged backpass, but the Bees couldn’t find an equaliser during the closing stages. #premierleague #brentfordfc #highlights #brentford Click the like and subscribe buttons if you would like to see more! Jadeja (45* off 68) and Srikar Bharat (9* off 37) will resume in 20 minutes with India leading by 63 runs. Rehan chipped straight after the luncheon interval removing the unsettled Shreyas Iyer for 35 with Jadeja joining forces with KL Rahul to take India into the lead. The left hand batter was also given out on field but the first successful referral in this Test saw him survive. The batters changed gears and batted in aggressive manner bringing up the 50-partnership in 51 balls. Rahul hit 8 fours and 2 sixes in his knock with the couple of sixes hit in a single over taking India into the lead. Rahul was dismissed soon after the drinks interval as he attempted a rash stroke and perished. KS Bharat batting at 7 joined Jadeja with the duo looking composed in their partnership of 21 runs. There was no bat involved and the Ultra Edge confirms it. Rehan accounted for Iyer and Tom Hartley for Rahul the only 2 dismissals in the afternoon session. Despite England managing to scalp 2 crucial wickets including the prized dismissal of KL Rahul who threw his wicket to Rehan Ahmed at 86 the partnership between Jadeja and Bharat has injected stability into the Indian innings. After the tea break England awaits the arrival of the second new ball due in the next 4 overs. England will be poised to utilize it to their advantage in a bid to make further inroads. The upcoming session promises to be pivotal in shaping the trajectory of the Test match with both teams eager to gain ascendancy. Session Summary: 26 overs 87 runs and 2 wickets. As the players take a well-deserved break for tea on Day 2 of the first Test match between India and England the stage is set for a captivating finale to the session. India finds themselves at 309/5 after 76 overs in the second innings holding a slender lead of 63 runs. Ravindra Jadeja batting on a composed 45 is accompanied by KS Bharat who stands firm on 9 not out. With the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel yet to come India harbours aspirations of building a substantial lead of over 200 runs a target that seems not all that out of reach at this juncture. Excellent decision from Paul Reiffel. This session - 26 overs | 87 runs | 2 wickets. England started well after lunch. They conceded just 2 runs off the first four overs and Rehan had Shreyas Iyer caught at deep midwicket. India responded in style. They counterattacked and put the England spinners under pressure. India got into lead and the Rahul-Jadeja duo stitched a brisk 65-run stand. KL became the fifth Indian batter to get out playing an aggressive stroke. He pulled a half-tracker from Hartley straight to deep midwicket. Post that Jadeja and Bharat batted conservatively and ensured that there were no further setbacks in the session. While the left-hander has been solid the latter has looked a bit tentative. India are 63 runs ahead and with 5 wickets in hand they'll eye a pretty big lead. Hammered through the leg side. 82.5 kph. Bharat pulls in front of square picking up the googly well. Gets the boundary to the left of deep midwicket. Root invited Bharat hit and he obliges. A long hop pitched on middle and leg. Some good amount of bounce but no pace on it. Bharat rocks back and pulls it square of the wicket. Hits it up over the man at square leg to find the fence. Jadeja pulls off the backfoot and plays it wide of short fine leg. No chance for any fielder to chase the ball down. Fifty for Jadeja. Gets there in 84 balls and brings out the sword celebration. The third and final game of the ODI series between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe will be played on Thursday. This high-octane clash will be played at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Sri Lanka lead the series by a 1-0 margin. The first game was washed out due to rain. The second match was a thrilling one and the hosts managed to emerge victorious by two runs to take an unassailable lead in the series. Batting first Zimbabwe’s batters got starts but failed to convert them into big scores. A lack of partnerships resulted in them getting bundled out on 208 in the 45th over. Skipper Craig Ervine was the lone fighter for them as he scored 82 off 102 balls. For Sri Lanka Maheesh Theekshana was the standout bowler. He bowled beautifully and registered figures of 4/31. Dushmantha Chameera and Jeffrey Vandersay also grabbed a couple of scalps each. In reply Sri Lanka kept losing wickets at regular intervals but Janith Liyanage held the innings nicely from one end. He scored 95 but his departure helped the visitors get back in the contest. The game went down the wire and Chameera (18*) and Vandersay (19*) played brilliantly to take the Lankans home. Sri Lanka lost eight wickets but managed to cross the line with six balls to spare. Richard Ngarava was brilliant with the ball for Zimbabwe and grabbed a fifer but it wasn’t enough as they failed to defend the total. Zimbabwe will be looking to get over that loss quickly and bounce back in the final game of the series. The Lankans meanwhile will look to finish on a high and clinch the series by a 2-0 margin. Sri Lanka continue their dominance over Zimbabwe in the 50-over format. Pitch Report R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo offers equal assistance to the batters and the bowlers. The batters will have to spend some time in the middle before they can start taking down the bowling attack. The spinners will get plenty of assistance from the surface. The Lankans have won 48 games out of 48 whereas Zimbabwe have emerged victorious on 12 occasions. Four games have resulted in no result.

When West Indies smashed 222 in the third T20I it seemed England would return home empty-handed. It’s pertinent to note that England had suffered a 2-1 defeat in ODIs. The tourists go into the final T20I as the favourites now. A quick change in fortunes courtesy two dominant batting displays. It’s 2-2 and all to play for at Brian Lara Stadium Tarouba Trinidad. England created history in the third T20I by registering their third-highest successful chase in the format – the top-2 came against South Africa. Phil Salt’s unbeaten century skipper Jos Buttler’s fifty and Harry Brook’s cameo against Andre Russell – the England batter smashed 24 off the final over – powered England home in a final-over thriller at St George’s Grenada. Salt followed up his unbeaten 109 off 56 balls with a 57-ball 119 as England crushed West Indies by 75 runs completing a series-levelling win in Trinidad. Buttler and Liam Livingstone also had a great time in the penultimate T20I as they hit fifties to support Salt. Defending 267 England struck at regular intervals and the hosts folded for 192 in the 16th over. Reece Topley grabbed three scalps while Sam Curran and Rehan Ahmed picked up two apiece. Buttler lauded his teammates for their strength of character after being 0-2 down at one stage and had special words of praise for Salt who has smacked a colossal 19 sixes and 11 fours across two T20I innings. “We showed so much character Buttler said at the fourth T20I’s post-match presentation. “I’m proud of the group. We were down but seems a confident changing room now. It has been an enjoyable partnership with Salt. He is playing brilliantly well.” England’s bowling needs some work. But they’ve the momentum and it’ll about keeping things simple and ending the tour on a high. West Indies on the other hand have lost their way after they had taken an early lead in the five-match series. Their batters got starts in the fourth T20I but they failed to stitch consistent partnerships. Russell has struggled with the ball after his three-wicket haul in the first T20I at Bridgetown Barbados. Shimron Hetmyer has been dropped following his poor showings with the bat. Rovman Powell the West Indies T20 skipper isn’t perturbed with two consecutive losses and is focussed on strategizing well for the series finale. “The boys like a final. We will come back with brand new ideas and a brand new game plan Powell expressed. “The fifth T20I provides an opportunity for us to do that. Sometimes when things are not going your way. You just back off. We will let them take some time off and spend it with themselves. It is a thinking game.”
