The WHS incorporates the Rules of Handicapping and the Course Rating System, (a consistent method to calculate a golf courses difficulty), to successfully determine a golfer’s Handicap Index. The system, which comes into effect on 2 November 2020 will replace the six different systems currently used by over 15 million golfers, in more than 80 countries, to unify all golfers across the world. Why has the WHS been created? (week 1) With golf being centred around one standard set of rules governed by The R&A and USGA, it makes sense to unify the previous six different handicapping systems, making for a more inclusive and equitable sport. The WHS was therefore developed with consideration given to club golfers who play both sporadically and more regularly. With all golfers only initially required to submit scorecards for 54 holes to acquire a Handicap Index, the new WHS is less formidable for new players. How does the WHS work? (week 2) For golfers in England, calculating a new Handicap Index will be front of mind when adopting the WHS. The process will begin in the same way throughout the world – by accurately measuring a player’s golfing ability. From this they will be provided an initial Handicap Index. After a player has achieved 20 scores, a ‘fully developed’ Handicap Index can be calculated to provide the most accurate representation of a player’s ability. To ensure a player has only one Handicap Index, the golfer will nominate a home club. The home club is determined by the player, but for practicality it is recommended this is where the player typically submits the most of their scores.

Mare Seye is a 6th Dan professional Aikido instructor and long time student of Christian Tissier Shihan (8th Dan Aikikai). He started Aikido in France in 1987 and became a member of the National Technical College of the French Aikido Federation in 2005. He took on several technical positions within the French Aikido Federation over the years, most notably as the technical director of the Basse Normandie region from 2005 to 2011, and of the Île-de-France (Paris) region from 2013 to 2017. Mr Seye is also involved in the National Dan Examination Board and conducts seminars throughout the year in France and abroad. Sekiguchi-ryu Iaijutsu - 42nd Japanese Kobudo Demonstration (2019)
Yonehara Kameo Sensei and his students demonstrating Sekiguchi-ryu Iaijutsu during the 42nd Nihon Kobudo Embutaikai held at the Nippon Budokan on February 3rd, 2019. The event also commemorated the 40th anniversary of the Nihon Kobudo Kyokai. The school was founded by Sekiguchi Yarokuemon Ujishin as a style of Ju-jutsu. His eldest son, Sekiguchi Ujinari added the sword techniques that constituted the style Iai-jutsu. During the Tokugawa period the Sekiguchi-ryu spread throughout Japan. WMU Broncos Football Facilities Tour at Waldo Stadium
Dennis Corbin leads a tour of the Bill Brown Alumni Center at Waldo Stadium, home of the WMU Broncos football team. Stops on this tour included: FIRST FLOOR: * weight room with two full-time strength and conditioning coaches (Grant Geib, "G-squared", Director of Strength and Conditioning) and 3 or 4 others that work with them * team meeting room: seats 110 to 120, last remodeled about 2 years ago, wall graphics are new SECOND FLOOR * history of WMU football hallway mural, including Sam Dunlap and his family's recent visit: http://www.wmich.edu/news/2017/08/41627 * trophy room, including Super Bowl champion and Kalamazoo native Greg Jennings' own display case THIRD FLOOR * new +3 slogan/motto on the wall, meaning not yet announced * Head WMU Football Coach Tim Lester's office (was P.J. In the past, this same event was named Meet Your Seat Night (2013), Fan Appreciation Night (2012, 2009), and Meet The Team Night (2007). In other years (2015, 2014), it was simply an open-to-the-public football scrimmage, followed by an autograph session on the field (free team posters provided to fans). His biography from the Western Michigan Athletics website: "Associate Athletic Director for Medical/Support Services Dennis Corbin is entering his 30th year at Western Michigan. A 1976 graduate of Central Michigan, Corbin earned a degree in athletic training/physical education before completing his master's degree at the University of Arizona in the same field three years later. After spending three years as an assistant athletic trainer at Bowling Green, Corbin arrived at WMU. He currently supervises the athletic training and strength and conditioning staffs while overseeing student-athlete conduct, drug testing, and welfare issues. Corbin and his wife, Gayle, have two grown children, Natalie and Nicholas, and reside in Kalamazoo." That biography is pretty outdated.
