THE I-69 PLAYOFF SERIES! Komets vs Indy Fuel: Game 5 (May 3rd, 2026)

Hey hey! Finally! A Komet Hockey playoff video! You all can stop asking and wondering, I finally did a Komets Playoff game. It’s the Month of May, the Umamusumes did their running down in Louisville over the past weekend, which means we’re officially in my favorite time of year. Indy 500 Month, and the Komets are still playing hockey! Like last year, this video is all business (‘all’ is a subjective term…) let’s get into it. In the first round the Komets will take on the Indy “Fishers” Fuel. The first time the I-69 (nice) Rivalry has taken place in the postseason, in 1990-91 in the quarter finals of the Turner Cup playoffs. That series was full of carnage on the ice and in the stands with fans roughing up with each other and going the distance in seven games. That year was the First season of the Franke owned Komets which was critical to make a deep run. In which the Komets went all the way to the Finals before losing in six games to the Peoria (make them an ECHL franchise gosh darn it.) Rivermen. Nothing quite beats the atmosphere and energy of Playoff hockey, doesn’t matter what the level is. Guys will lay the body on the line to have a date with “The Cup.” This year’s iteration well, let’s be blunt about it, isn’t likely to go the distance. The Fort Wayne Komets, Central Division Regular Season Champs, have a 3-1 strangle hold on the series with chance to clinch the series in tonight’s game in five. In which that would be awesome to see a handshake line in this video…Indy is just a mere bump in the road for the Komets. The real goal is to get back at those darn fish (barring a reverse sweep by the Bison) in the Division Finals. Toledo dumped the Komets out of the Playoffs last year in the 2nd round in painstaking fashion. So, revenge is on the mind of the Komets. Meanwhile, The Indy Fuel got their ticket to the playoffs on the final day of the regular season when the Komets helped The Fuel out by winning in regulation against Kalamazoo in game 72. That 1 point was the gap between Playoffs or not. A Kalamazoo OTL point would have had Indy booking their tee times at the Purgatory Golf Club via tiebreaker. (yes, that’s a real course in the 317, a fantastic course too, I’ve played it last summer!) The Fuel franchise has never won a playoff series in its inception in 2014. One of, if not, the longest active drought in the ECHL. For that to happen this year would take some great defensive effort and some luck to win it in seven games. (If that were to happen, that would result in a nuclear meltdown of yours truly.) First we got to play the game(s) and see what happens. Not sure what’s going to happen on the channel next, either more Komet Playoff hockey or I have a little treat in the vault. It is the Month of May, so expect an Indy 500 video(s) this month!

Peshawar vs Hyderabad | Full Match Highlights | English | Final | Match 44 | HBL PSL 11 | MZB1K The drought is over! Peshawar Zalmi are HBL PSL 11 champions, clinching their first title since 2017 and ending a run of three final heartbreaks with a hard-fought 5-wicket victory over the gallant Hyderabad Kingsmen. For Babar Azam, it’s a moment of personal redemption—his first PSL trophy as captain. Chasing a modest 130, the final erupted into chaos on the very first ball of the innings. Mohammad Ali produced a thunderbolt that shattered Babar Azam's stumps, sending shockwaves through the stadium. When he removed Mohammad Haris in the same over, Hyderabad dared to dream. At 7 for 2, the Kingsmen were breathing fire. But Aaron Hardie had other plans. The Australian all-rounder launched a blistering counter-attack, smashing an unbeaten 56 off 39 deliveries with nine boundaries. He found a calm ally in Abdul Samad, whose explosive 48 off 34 turned the tide. Together, their match-defining stand absorbed the pressure and guided Zalmi home with 28 balls to spare. Earlier, it was Hardie again who starred with the ball, returning incredible figures of 4 for 27 to skittle the Kingsmen for 129 inside 18 overs. Saim Ayub fought a lone battle with a gritty 54 off 50, but the rest of the Hyderabad batting crumbled under the relentless Zalmi attack. Nahid Rana was equally devastating with 2 for 22. Relive the first-ball drama, Hardie's all-round heroics, the championship-winning moment, and the scenes of celebration right here. Spring Cleaning: Chuck Fletcher & Dan Mackinnon FIRED by New Jersey Devils, More to Come?
Spring Cleaning: Chuck Fletcher & Dan Mackinnon FIRED by New Jersey Devils, More to Come?

Chuck Fletcher and Dan McKinnon have been fired from the New Jersey Devils organization as part of significant changes to the team's front office, a move that Zach Berman describes as long overdue at 00:12:49. Fletcher, who served as Senior Advisor to the President, Hockey Operations and General Manager, is criticized by Zach Berman for carrying over his poor front office track record from the Philadelphia Flyers, with both him and McKinnon being linked to the Devils’ lackluster player development and questionable contract decisions. McKinnon, who managed the Devils’ AHL affiliate, Utica Comets, is also noted for a decade of underwhelming prospect development, despite the organization's repeated high draft picks. Zach Berman connects these firings to a wider critique of the Devils’ front office over the last decade, highlighting missed opportunities and poor drafting decisions that have crippled the organization—most notably the inability to acquire or develop high-end talent like Quinn Hughes, whose likely contract extension in Minnesota further frustrates the Devils' situation (00:02:59). The show host underscores that errors by previous managers like Tom Fitzgerald and Ray Shero continue to haunt the franchise and laments persistent issues with a "boys club" mentality that recycles unsuccessful executives (00:16:34). Attention then turns to who could be next on the chopping block. Zach Berman identifies two top candidates: Dave Rogalski, the Devils’ goaltending coach since 2020, and Megan Duggan, director of player development since 2022. Rogalski, associated with deteriorating goaltending performance and stagnant goalie prospects, is considered by Zach Berman to be a near-certain firing in any impending purge (00:22:13). Duggan, while a hockey legend, is blamed for the lack of progress among skater prospects and an overall weak farm system, though Zach Berman suggests she could stay in the organization in a different role if removed from player development. Looking forward, Zach Berman expresses optimism about Sonny Maida’s leadership, hoping for a complete overhaul of the Devils' organizational culture and approach (00:28:27). With a chance to break away from outdated front office practices and failed scouting, there is hope that the franchise can restructure itself into a consistent Stanley Cup contender. As further staff changes loom and with the draft lottery approaching, Zach Berman anticipates a busy period of transition and potential improvement for the Devils (00:29:05).
