12/23/2020 PBS- Jets Fans Root for Their Team to Lose, Why the Mets Need to Own Offseason, NBAHub?

12/23/2020 Passed Ball Show. John opens up this program by explaining his feelings about Festivus in his ten seconds. He then blasts the fans of the New York Jets for rooting for their team to lose, then explains how it is not really possible for pro football players to not give maximum effort on a football field. John then brings up the opportunity the New York Mets have this off-season to do what no other MLB has the chance to do. It will be disappointing to see this organization not address EVERY need they have and project to be the team to beat in all of Major League Baseball. They may not get this chance again. John finishes off by talking about the NBA and questions whether they got it right by not having the bubble like settings that were proven to be successful during the recent playoffs and NBA Finals.

Danny Mendick is "White Sox Scrappy"...it ain't easy being the second team in the Second City
Danny Mendick is "White Sox Scrappy"...it ain't easy being the second team in the Second City

lol How can you not get a little bit of a giggle out of the hard felt grievances that some fanbases harbour. Oh, the disrespect. So I was watching a little White Sox sim action this early evening and ran into this featured bit of sour grapes from hometown White Sox play-by-play voice, Jason Benetti. After pumping the tires of middle infielder, Danny Mendick, last year's feel good story about a 'try hard' that finally made the bigs, Benetti had a wonderful Festivus moment. Those grievances are so heart felt...how could you not wish that someone in the NBC Sports Chicago booth ask the man to hold a cup against his cheek. Those tears must be the nectar of the gods their so sweet. Jokes aside, I had no idea these emotions of neglect were so close to the surface for White Sox fans and those around the team. Obviously everyone knows that the Cubs are the marquee in Chicago. Which, probably unfairly, considering how little the Cubbies have won over the years, subjects the Pale Hose to second class status. And when you consider the way the NFL runs sporting passions in most American cities, and you can't forget the Bulls of the NBA, the poor ole South Side is easily bringing up the back end of the sports branding caravan. So I decided to do a little investigative reporting (Google) to find out why our boys in the Sox booth are airing and wallowing in their discontent so early into baseball's reboot. Let's just say that when the Wheel of Motherfuckn' Fortune is in on the slights, it ain't easy being a Sox fan. Before covid fucked over our lives, I vaguely remember the sorta' buzz about the Yankees playing on the Field of Dreams, in Heaven....errr, I mean Iowa. I guess my tale is an anecotal but tangible example of the Sox' "please acknowledge us" laments, as I had no idea that it was the White Sox that were supposed to be providing the opposition on Ray's ploughed-under cornfield. Too bad Sportscenter's Snapchat cared as little about that detail as well, as they ran a pic of the Tigers in their ad for the gimmick event. The insults didn't stop there. The World Wide Leader also ran graphics that omitted the 2005 World Series championship, which is kind of a big deal...considering those long suffering fans had been waiting for some shine to brighten their trophy case since John Cusak maybe-took a bribe in 1919. And, as mentioned, Pat and Vanna vaped on the Sox as a Chicago entity that sells tickets, merch, and sometimes hope, like they are with the current bunch in 2020. Gawd, it's all so cruel. I swear, it's like Benetti and his Sox are girls field hockey if Title IX hadn't been legislated into existence. Forgive me if you're a Sox fan and have just run across this wee vid and blurb about your favs. Totally not making fun of you or your summertime rooting passion. I just had no idea you were suffering so. Oh, the neglect. #Chicago #WhiteSox #ESPN #disrespect #JasonBenetti #damnCubs #Festivus
