They will want their top-order batters to set a nice platform and put them in a position from where their finishers can take over. Punjab still need to believe that they are in this game and they have a fighting total on the board. They will need to come out with positive intent and look for wickets early to set the tone for their game. Will they be able to pull off a remarkable defense? Or will this be a walk in the park for the reigning champions? Punjab got off to the worst possible start losing Prabhsimran Singh on the second delivery of the inning off the bowling of Mohammad Shami and Joshua Little dismissed Punjab's inform skipper Shikhar Dhawan inside the Powerplay. They were good in the field as well as they kept it really tight and never allowed the opposition to get away with the scoring rate. What a sublime way to get off the mark! Fuller and outside off shaping away this time Shubman Gill plants his front foot forward and just caresses it in between mid off and extra cover for a boundary. That is a shot and a half! A touch fuller and around off stumps at 145.4 clicks Wriddhiman Saha punches it on the up and the ball speeds through wide mid off for a boundary. In this IPL Arshdeep Singh has leaked runs at an economy of 10.9 when he has bowled full in the powerplay (26.2%). However as he pulls his length back the economy is better. Excellent timing and Gujarat are flying now! Good length on the pads and at 146.3 clicks Shubman Gill gets his hands in front of his pads and gently pushes it in front of mid-wicket for a boundary. Fuller in length and outside off take pace off as well. Wriddhiman Saha goes through with the drive and pierces the gap at extra cover to find the fence yet again. Just over! Arshdeep Singh comes from around the wicket and angles in another fuller delivery into middle and leg. Wriddhiman Saha plays a checked-drive and gets it just over Sam Curran at mid on. The ball speeds away into the fence. A bit streaky but that will be the third boundary of the over and there are still two deliveries left. Another bumper from around the wicket and over the stumps. Wriddhiman Saha tries to take it on but gets a top edge that flies one-bounce over the fine leg fence for a boundary. Wriddhiman Saha is simply toying with the field now and 18 runs off the over already! Full and wide Saha reaches out and squeezes it in between short third man and backward point for a boundary. Having put into bat first Delhi got off to a scratchy start. Prithvi Shaw and Mitchell Marsh failed to impress once again. Delhi were two down inside the first five overs. David Warner and Sarfaraz Khan steadied the innings for a while but Gujarat came roaring back and reduced Delhi to 67 for 4. Some handy runs from debutant Abishek Porel and Sarfaraz and a quickfire 22-ball-36 from Axar Patel have taken Delhi over 160. Nicely timed and Wriddhiman Saha is up and running here! Good length again but he offers a bit of width. Saha goes on the back foot and caresses it through cover-point for a boundary. Up and over! Pitches this one up around off Wriddhiman Saha just lofts it back over the bowler's head and clears mid off. The ball rolls away into the fence. Swung away and Wriddhiman Saha has taken a liking to the Impact Player here. Just short of a length over leg stump Saha stands tall and whips it away over the mid-wicket fence for a maximum. 14 off the first over of the chase a good one for Gujarat. Put away first ball! Starts off with a short and wide one Shubman Gill stays on the back foot and just taps it away in front of point to get off the mark with a boundary. Wow what timing! Back of a length around off Shubman Gill stands tall and just punches it on the up. The ball races away through the cover region for a boundary. An attempted Yorker at 147.9 clicks on middle. Shubman Gill bunts the low full toss toward mid on and scampers through for a quick run. In the air but hit crisply! This is served at 148.8 clicks and the ball just skids on after hitting the deck. Shubman Gill is caught on the back foot and before he tries to get a bat on it he gets cut in half. The ball destroys the stumps behind Gill and Nortje picks up his second wicket. Cheeky but brilliant from Sai Sudharsan! Anrich Nortje comes from around the wicket and bowls it full and at the stumps at over 144 clicks. Sudharsan simply shuffles across and scoops it back over the keeper's head and over the ropes for a maximum. Slower one from Anrich Nortje full and outside off. Hardik Pandya picks it up and creams the cover drive through the gap for a boundary. Lovely shot from Sai Sudharsan and the 50 is up for Gujarat. Khaleel Ahmed serves it full and around off stump Sudharsan whips it away in between mid on and mid-wicket for a boundary.
