Call or text 988 DAY OR NIGHT or visit mantherapy.org ----------------------------------- Pitching Matchup: Young Arm vs. Veteran Stability The Reds are recalling top prospect Chase Petty to make his 2026 debut, a high-stakes spot against their biggest rival. Petty, who had a challenging 2025 appearance, started 2026 with a 4.38 ERA over six starts in Triple-A. He faces a tough assignment against the Cubs' Edward Cabrera, who has been a standout in 2026. Cabrera (3-0, 3.06 ERA) has provided stability to the Cubs' rotation, bringing a 1.19 WHIP and strong strikeout numbers into this matchup. Top Performers & Keys to the Game The Cubs’ offense has been clicking, led by Nico Hoerner (.280+ AVG, 26 RBI) and Seiya Suzuki, who has been hot over the last 10 games. The Cubs have won 16 of their last 20 games and are 14-5 at home. For Cincinnati, the offense revolves around Elly De La Cruz, who has showcased elite power with 10 home runs early in the season. However, the Reds' offense has struggled recently, scoring 3 or fewer runs in 5 of their last 10 games. The team, managed by Terry Francona, needs to find consistent production outside of De La Cruz to break their road losing streak. Weather & Betting Trends Inclement weather threatened the game, with thunderstorms expected, causing the first pitch to be moved up to 6:10 p.m. CT. Betting analysts strongly favor the Cubs (-210) due to the pitching mismatch and home-field advantage. While the over/under is set high (11.5 runs), the Under has been profitable in recent head-to-head matchups. What's at Stake A win for the Cubs could extend their lead in the NL Central and continue their momentum. For the Reds, a win for Petty in his return would provide a massive morale boost and shrink the gap to one game, proving they can compete with the division leaders despite their recent slump.

OT WINNER TAYLOR HALL #nhl #fyp

The NHL’s division system has always played a huge role in shaping how the playoffs unfold, and it quietly decides how difficult a team’s path really is. Teams spend the entire regular season battling within their own division, building rivalries and getting used to the same opponents. When the playoffs start, those same matchups carry over into the first rounds. On paper it creates intensity and familiarity, but in reality it can create completely different levels of difficulty depending on where a team is placed. Some divisions are loaded from top to bottom, forcing teams to survive constant heavy matchups just to advance, while others give a bit more room to operate. That is where the conversation starts to get heated. When a team like the Carolina Hurricanes falls behind 2 to 0 and still manages to come back without it ever feeling out of reach, people begin to question how tough the road actually is. In some divisions, going down like that means the series is basically over because the competition punishes every mistake. In others, there is more margin for error, and that changes how these games feel. It is not just about how good a team is, it is about the environment they are playing in and the level of pressure they are facing every shift. Because of that, the division format ends up driving narratives just as much as it creates matchups. A comeback in one division is seen as grit and resilience, while the exact same comeback somewhere else can get brushed off as expected or even lucky. Fans notice those differences, and it fuels debates about which teams are truly being tested and which ones are benefiting from the structure. The system guarantees rivalries and drama, but it also guarantees that not every playoff path is equal, and that is why moments like this always turn into bigger conversations than just one game. #nhlplayoffs #OTWINNER #hockey#nhlhighlights

THE I-69 PLAYOFF SERIES! Komets vs Indy Fuel: Game 5 (May 3rd, 2026)
THE I-69 PLAYOFF SERIES! Komets vs Indy Fuel: Game 5 (May 3rd, 2026)

Hey hey! Finally! A Komet Hockey playoff video! You all can stop asking and wondering, I finally did a Komets Playoff game. It’s the Month of May, the Umamusumes did their running down in Louisville over the past weekend, which means we’re officially in my favorite time of year. Indy 500 Month, and the Komets are still playing hockey! Like last year, this video is all business (‘all’ is a subjective term…) let’s get into it. In the first round the Komets will take on the Indy “Fishers” Fuel. The first time the I-69 (nice) Rivalry has taken place in the postseason, in 1990-91 in the quarter finals of the Turner Cup playoffs. That series was full of carnage on the ice and in the stands with fans roughing up with each other and going the distance in seven games. That year was the First season of the Franke owned Komets which was critical to make a deep run. In which the Komets went all the way to the Finals before losing in six games to the Peoria (make them an ECHL franchise gosh darn it.) Rivermen. Nothing quite beats the atmosphere and energy of Playoff hockey, doesn’t matter what the level is. Guys will lay the body on the line to have a date with “The Cup.” This year’s iteration well, let’s be blunt about it, isn’t likely to go the distance. The Fort Wayne Komets, Central Division Regular Season Champs, have a 3-1 strangle hold on the series with chance to clinch the series in tonight’s game in five. In which that would be awesome to see a handshake line in this video…Indy is just a mere bump in the road for the Komets. The real goal is to get back at those darn fish (barring a reverse sweep by the Bison) in the Division Finals. Toledo dumped the Komets out of the Playoffs last year in the 2nd round in painstaking fashion. So, revenge is on the mind of the Komets. Meanwhile, The Indy Fuel got their ticket to the playoffs on the final day of the regular season when the Komets helped The Fuel out by winning in regulation against Kalamazoo in game 72. That 1 point was the gap between Playoffs or not. A Kalamazoo OTL point would have had Indy booking their tee times at the Purgatory Golf Club via tiebreaker. (yes, that’s a real course in the 317, a fantastic course too, I’ve played it last summer!) The Fuel franchise has never won a playoff series in its inception in 2014. One of, if not, the longest active drought in the ECHL. For that to happen this year would take some great defensive effort and some luck to win it in seven games. (If that were to happen, that would result in a nuclear meltdown of yours truly.) First we got to play the game(s) and see what happens. Not sure what’s going to happen on the channel next, either more Komet Playoff hockey or I have a little treat in the vault. It is the Month of May, so expect an Indy 500 video(s) this month!
