If it wasn't for Dirk Koetter, Raheem Morris and Jeff Ulbrich would have a strong case to remain on the staff for the job they have done with the defense since week five. But it seems DK is on a one-man mission to completely tank any chance they would have to remain in Atlanta. There was even rumors being spread that the Falcons my be heavily considering keep Morris on as the Head Coach. All that talk may be put on the back burner for now after Sunday's game. A Brees less Saints team showed up with Taysom Hill at QB and proceeded to make the Falcons look like a college football team. The Saints defense harassed Matt Ryan all day to the tune of 8 sacks. Once again the offense of the Falcons could not get anything going in the run game and failed to make adjustments in the sack hal to account for the pressure the Saints were getting. If Morris wants to remain in the race for the HC spot he is going to have to step his game up going forward. They go into to their bye week on a high note after beating the Denver Broncos 34-27 at home. Side note that was their first victory at the Benz this year. Now we can't have to many warm and fuzzy feelings. Two days after the win the head brass decided that they had had enough of there often injured first round pass rushers TaKk McKinley and waived him. He had a few out burst on social media which resulted in a fine obviously the team didn't feel like that was sinking in so they decided to let him go. It improved the Browns to 3-6-1 heading into their bye week. The Browns have their most wins since a 7-9 season in 2014. Mayfield, heeding coach Gregg Williams’ advice to let it rip, threw for 216 yards yards and 3 TDs and earned a 151.2 rating. Chubb rushed for 176 yards on 20 carries (8.8 average), including a 92 yard touchdown run which is the longest in Browns history. The victory also snapped a three-game winning streak by the Falcons who came in with the No. 2 pass offense and No. 8 scoring offense and dropped them to 4-5. It marked the first victory for interim coach Gregg Williams, who improved to 18-32 as a head coach. During the week, Williams urged Mayfield, “Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. Just cut it loose and play, and make faster and faster decisions.’’ Mayfield did just that, completing 13 straight passes to start the game.
