Minnesota Timberwolves vs San Antonio Spurs Full Game 5 Highlights - May 12, 2026 | NBA Playoffs #nba #highlights #basketball Victor Wembanyama atoned for his first career ejection with another huge performance, finishing with 27 points, 17 rebounds, five assists and three blocks as the San Antonio Spurs beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 126-97 on Tuesday night to take a 3-2 lead in their second-round series. Keldon Johnson had 21 points, De'Aaron Fox added 18 and Stephon Castle had 17 as San Antonio moved a game away from the Western Conference finals. The Spurs can advance to face Oklahoma City with a victory in Game 6 on Friday in Minneapolis. Anthony Edwards, who was limited to eight points in the first half, finished with 20 points for Minnesota. Julius Randle and Jaden McDaniels added 17 points apiece. Wembanyama returned after being ejected early in the second quarter of Minnesota's 114-109 victory Sunday during Game 4 in Minneapolis. Wembanyama received a Flagrant 2 foul after elbowing Naz Reid in the throat. “We went away from what was working," Timberwolves coach Chris Finch said. "Our defense just cratered. We gave up 30 points, I think, in the last six minutes of the third quarter. A lot of it was just ball contain, ball contain stuff.” San Antonio held its opponent under 100 points for the fifth time in 10 games this postseason. “I thought we did a good job of having resistance early in the clock," Spurs coach Mitch Johnson said. "They’ve shown as the series has gone on, they’ve tried to play faster at times and they’re tough when they get downhill. I think when we’ve had better starting spots, more connectivity at the start of possessions, I think it’s really helped us be on a string and be organized and connected defensively.”

The Los Angeles Dodgers kept the same lineup ahead of the second game of their series against the San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers are in desperate need of some offense, falling short yet again in their series opener against their divisional rivals. They scored just three runs in the game, ultimately losing to a late-inning surge from the visitors. Right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto will start for the Dodgers on Tuesday, making his eighth start of the season for LA. He has been solid for the Dodgers this season, posting a 3.09 ERA through 43.2 innings pitched so far. He has 40 strikeouts under his belt, and has gone at least five innings in each of his starts so far this season. Designated hitter Shohei Ohtani leads the line for the Dodgers, and will look to break out of the slump which has plagued him for nearly two weeks now. The superstar has four hits in 36 at-bats in May, and has struggled to produce any offense for LA since the beginning of the month. He has just one homer since April 13. Shortstop Mookie Betts will bat second behind Ohtani, exactly where he batted upon his return from the injured list Monday. First baseman Freddie Freeman bats third, followed by right fielder Kyle Tucker and catcher Will Smith. One of the Dodgers’ hottest hitters in third baseman Max Muncy bats sixth, followed by center fielder Andy Pages, who is also on a decent run for LA. He has allowed a home run in each of his last five starts, and has let multiple runs cross in every one of his outings this season. The Dodgers desperately need some help on offense, and could take advantage of a struggling pitcher to find the spark they need. He finished with 36 points including 16 in the fourth quarter, hitting a 27-footer to spark a 12-3 run that flipped the game before Minnesota closed it out 114-109 to even the series at two games apiece. --- THE WEMBY SITUATION HEADING INTO TONIGHT The NBA determined not to add further punishment beyond the ejection itself, so Wembanyama was cleared to play in Game 5. Both De'Aaron Fox and Dylan Harper were listed as questionable heading into tonight — Fox with an ankle injury after being landed on by Ayo Dosunmu in Game 4, and Harper with left knee soreness — but both were officially available after making it through pregame warmups. The winner of this series faces the Oklahoma City Thunder, who swept the Los Angeles Lakers in four games and have been waiting on deck. The stakes could not be any higher. A trip to the Western Conference Finals is on the line tonight in San Antonio. --- THE BIG PICTURE This Spurs team was supposed to be building for the future.
