Kyrie Irving finished this season with a phenomenal statline of 50% from the field, 40% from three and 92% from the free throw line. With that he became only the 9th player in NBA history to accomplish this, and here is the full list of elite shooters headlined by his coach Steve Nash who did it 4 times in his career which is unbelievable. But as impressive as that is from Kyrie, Tony Snell went even a step further. So let’s check out some wild statistics from this NBA season. What up everybody my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it. I promise you’ve never seen a player shoot 51% from the field, 57% from downtown, and 100% from the line. Without a single miss. That’s exactly what Snell did this season but if you’re asking yourself why he wasn’t included in that previous list, it’s because of the low attempts- especially when it comes to free throws. Only 11 which is a laughable sample size. But still, since this is the first time in NBA history that a line like this has been achieved, I feel like he deserves some credit. But what’s mind blowing here is that Snell actually had a perfect free throw shooting season last year as well. 32-32. Dude last missed a foul shot on March 12 2019. More than 2 years ago. Are you kidding me?!? OK, moving on. We saw the Wizards clinch a play-in tournament spot in a crazy season for them. Starting off 4-13 they found themselves dead last in the eastern conference. And on April 6th, just last month they were 17 and 32 and everyone wrote them off. However in a furious finish, Washington went 17-6 to end the season and with a total of 34 wins and 38 losses, they secured a place in the play-in. Fantastic comeback by Real Deal Beal and Brodie. Speaking of him, I know I made a video about Russell Westbrook and mentioned this but this is the perfect opportunity to repeat his video game average of 22 points, 11 and a half rebounds, and 11.7 assists. Yet another year with a triple double average, 4th in the last 5 seasons. This should never be taken for granted. Also when Russ gets a triple double his teams are 136-45 which is 75%. Which brings us to a player with a better win percentage when getting a triple double. And that is Draymond Green. This year, Draymond got number 30 in his career, and his record is astonishing. 29-1. That’s 96 and a half percent. So I guess all he has to do in the playoffs is get triple doubles and Golden State wins the title. Sounds simple enough. And on the topic of the playoffs, here is one painful fact for you 8 or 9 Sacramento fans left out there. The Kings have now missed the playoffs for 15 straight years. That ties the longest post-season drought in NBA history. The Clippers were in a similar spot from 1977 to 1991. Hopefully the young core of De'aaron Fox, Tyrese Halliburton and company can bring this team back on track where Bibby, Vlade and Peja left it. Steph Curry has been unstoppable this year, and the fact that he was able to single handedly drag this Golden State team to the play-in is a super human accomplishment in itself, but let me share some more tangible statistics with you. By winning the scoring title, Curry joins Michael Jordan as the only players in NBA history to lead the league in scoring at age 33 or older. Which yeah, Steph is 33 and I don’t know if it sounds as weird for you guys as it does for me. Also with 5.3 makes from downtown, he broke his own three point average record of 5.1 further cementing himself as the greatest shooter of all time. Great three point shooting is part of the reason for the Jazz success as well. Utah ended the year number 1 in makes and number 4 in percentage which is a deadly combination. But they’re on this list because they’re the first team in NBA history to make 10 or more threes in every single game of the season. So let’s see if they can keep up this blazing hot performance throughout the playoffs. And a nice way to end this list is with Lebron James. The King averaged 25 points per game, which makes it the 17th season of 25 ppg or more. There isn’t a single player close to him in this category, with MJ, KD, Kobe and the mailman all at 12 seasons. SImilarly to Westbrook, once again I gotta remind you to not take greatness for granted. I’m sure there are a lot more interesting and crazy sounding stats from this season, so let me know in the comments if you got a good one. The playoffs are here folks, things are just now heating up. That’s it for now, subscribe and talk to you in the next one. Peace out.

Let’s play a game. It’s the 2003-2004 season. You have a choice. Player A, who’s 25 years old, is averaging 24.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and connects on 32.7% of his shoots from deep. Player B, who’s 26 years old, is averaging 24.2 points, 6.3 boards, while hitting 43.3% from beyond the arc. Who would you rather have? If you chose Player B, you just picked Predrag Stojakovic over Kobe Bryant. And this is his story. What up everybody my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it. First off, let’s be clear about several things. Number 1: This is not to say that Peja was better than Kobe. Number 2: Stats never tell the whole story, especially when it comes to defence, where the Black Mamba was far superior. Plus, Kobe was far better in creating his own shot, and much much more. Yet, these figures can at least be a testament to the fact that Peja was a baller, and in 03-04 he could go head to head with the best of em. But let’s go back to the beginning. n 1993, at just 16 years, the small forward headed to Greece to join PAOK from Red Star Belgrade. Though it was not that common at the time for teams to get seduced by European players, it didn’t take long for NBA scouts to notice his potential and fine shooting stroke. So, when the Sacramento Kings had the opportunity to select him with the 14th pick of the famous 1996 Draft, they took it. Stojakovic, though, would remain in Greece and spend another two years there. When the time was right, he decided to take his talents to the NBA. In his rookie season, he played 48 games but remember, this is during the 1999 lockout-shortened season, where teams played just 50 regular season games. Peja had averages of 8.4 points in 21.4 minutes per contest. Management, though, at least behind the scenes, must have been a little disappointed with his 32% rate from deep. Still, the forward showed flashes of his potential, with the prime example of that being a match against the Utah Jazz, in which he scored 26 while hitting 5-8 from three-point land. (од ова, бар ја колку што барав, нема видео) Yet, when speaking about 1999, we must mention the positive impact that Kings centre Vlade Divac, a fellow Serbian, had on the rookie. The mentor helped Peja with matters such as the driving exam and taught him about life in the NBA. Their bond even grew stronger due to the political developments in their country at that time. The Kings, finishing as the six seed with a 27-23 record, made the playoffs for only the second time in 13 seasons. There, despite giving the mighty Jazz all they could handle, they would fall in the final game of the first round. In the 1999-2000 season the Kings were supposed to be a team on the rise. But despite the individual progress by Stojakovic, who increased his scoring to 11.9 points per game and got better from deep, 37.5%, they made the playoffs as the eight seed. Yet again, they lost the final game of the first round, this time falling to the eventual title-winning Lakers side. Then, Something clicked in the 2000-01 season for Peja. Starting all 75 games he played in, the sharpshooter exceeded the 20 point per game barrier for the first time in his NBA career, averaging 20.4. A whole 8 and a half point increase in just a season. He even improved his rebounding, grabbing 5.8 per contest. Also important, he connected on 40.0% of his shoots from three point land, on 4.8 attempts. In February of that year , he went off for 39 points and 12 rebounds in Canada in a triple-overtime thriller. (линк - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxcRLaHkrAI) One of the six three pointers he made that night was actually the go-ahead basket with 45.2 seconds to go. His leap was recognised, and he finished second in the Most Improved Player race, behind Tracy McGrady. In the second round of 2001 Playoffs, unfortunately for Kings fans, their team faced a Lakers side widely considered among the greatest of all time. The result, a sweep. So, in the 2001 offseason, the Kings made a trade they believed would put them over the top, trading for the Grizzlies’ Mike Bibby in a package that involved Jason “White Chocolate” Williams. Rick Adelman’s team, which included Chris Webber as well, quickly became the talk of the league. Praised for their chemistry, altruistic approach to the game, and nice passing, the Kings had the best record in the league, winning 61 games.
Former NBA guard Mike Bibby joins Now or Never to share his thoughts on the bubble life, the Lou Williams wings situation in Atlanta and what he thinks about rookie sensation Ja Morant – since he was also drafted No. 2 overall by the Memphis Grizzlies. He also talks about his early 2000’s rivalry with Kobe, Shaq and the Lakers as a member of the Sacramento Kings and being a part of the 2011-12 Knicks team when “Linsanity” took over the NBA. #NBA ☑️ Subscribe to ESPN+: https://plus.espn.com/ 📱Get the ESPN App: http://www.espn.com/espn/apps/espn 🏀 Subscribe to NBA on ESPN on YouTube: http://bit.ly/2yxs3Og ☑️Subscribe to ESPN on YouTube: http://es.pn/SUBSCRIBEtoYOUTUBE ☑️Watch ESPN on YouTube TV: http://es.pn/YouTubeTV ESPN on Social Media: 🐦 Follow on Twitter: https://twitter.com/espn 👥 Like on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/espn 📸 Follow on Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/espn More on ESPN.com: http://www.espn.com
