*READ* After calming a bit down I and reflecting, taking into account that Valverde and the team had to risk a little due to these intense heavy two months, I guess a 2-1 result is not as bad as it can be. The level of concentration and focus is still not as good as it should be and let’s hope this doesn’t reflect on the second leg. Still there are plenty of ways Barcelona can easily progress to the next stage without even a scratch, 2-0, 1-0, etc. And one more thing, Coutinho’s situation is really worrying, he is faaaar from his normal level and it’s starting to bug me a little bit. His and Aleña’s position in this game has to be one of the most demanding in any system. These two interior midfielders have to run and cover up a lot of space to try and gain positional superiority via runs away from the opposition. And today WOOOW. Coutinho was having a stroll. Not good enough. He didn’t make himself available. This has to improve. Philippe Coutinho kept Barcelona in the Copa del Rey with a penalty five minutes from time after they had been taken apart by Levante in the worst half of football they have played this season. Coutinho scored a late penalty after Arsenal target Denis Suarez had been brought down in the area by Levante defender Coke. Barcelona were stunned inside the first four minutes when Erick Cabaco headed in Ruben Rochina's free-kick to make it 1-0. The on-loan Real Madrid centre-forward didn't get the greatest first touch on the ball but he still managed to hook his foot around the ball and send it through Jeison Murillo's legs and past Jaspar Cillessen for 2-0. Barcelona had been beaten by one goal set-up by one of their former B-team players, Rochina, and now by a Real Madrid loanee. They could easily have shipped three in that opening spell. Koke was able to skip along the byline and cross for Boateng and Cillessen saved point-blank to prevent the goal. Both Murillo and his central defensive partner the 19-year-old Juan Brandariz (Chumi) were booked too and they needed Sergio Busquets to come back and play between them in a three to add some security. Murillo raised some eyebrows when he was signed on loan this window having played only three times this season for Valencia. To partner him with the novice Brandariz and a teenage left-back was a gamble from Ernesto Valverde and it had not paid off. At the other end of the pitch Valverde had left Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi back in Barcelona and gone with Ousmane Dembele flanked by Malcom and Coutinho. The former Liverpool man struggled without Messi and Suarez to play off of. In the second period they improved. The teenage defenders were substituted and Denis Suarez gave much needed spark in attack. When his mazy run ended in a penalty Coutinho was able to bring Barca back into the tie ahead of next week's second leg.
