Bradford PA 4-1 FC Utd

8th September 2010. A bright start sees Chris Ovington put Utd one up, but that didn't last long and unfortunately four goals from BPA settled the result in Yorkshire's favour.

FC United 3-2 Stockport County. 13 May 18. Argyle cup final

Another day with the FC women's team, another piece of history and this time is was not only the double-double, but also the treble after FC had gained promotion the previous week, and once again the killer blow was delivered late on by captain marvel herself, Kirsty Chambers. In the opening half hour, the Reds had not performed to their own high standards, but never fell behind in this tough final, taking the lead on 10 minutes direct from a perfectly weighted Fran Sullivan corner. County waited a quarter hour before striking back, once again from a corner with Nicola Connor quickest to the ball to poke it in for the equaliser. United regained the lead just before the break through the unerring boot of Jess Battle as she pounced on a ball being knocked clear and the in-form forward leathered her shot inside the near upright for a 2-1 lead. The majority of the second half was quite scrappy, with neither side able to eek out any good chances and it fell to the final nervy 10 minutes for the action to ramp up in this tense Argyle cup final. The blues hit first from a free-kick which wasn't cleared properly and in the middle of the melee was the trusted foot of ex-United striker Shellby Wolstencroft to level the exploits on 83 minutes. But cometh the hour and 26 minutes, cometh the woman, in the shape of ultra-trusted Chambers as she danced inside the area, forging a space for herself on the favoured left and rifling home a winner as good as any to give FC the 3-2 winning scoreline and the treble was now completed. FC United 4-0 Stockport County Blues. 15 Oct 17

The Reds' top goal-scorer Kirsty Chambers took just 22 seconds to add another to her prodigious total, as FC won again with yet another clean sheet. And in-form striker Jess Battle made sure of the points, as she firstly made it 2-0 five minutes later and then douled her own tally in extra-time at the end of the first half. The Reds had numerous chances throughout the game, but County's defence and especially their keeper, held firm for the majority of the match, but couldn't hold back Battle as she notched up her third triple of the season on the hour. United kept pushing until the end, but the girls didn't add to the 4-0 scoreline, which leaves the league goal balance for the season so far at scored 47, conceded none.

FC United 11-0 Curzon Ashton. 23 April 2017

The last home game of the season brought Curzon back to FC and the 11-0 scoreline was the same as the last time up at Broadhurst fields in United's fourth ever game. Jade Parker got the initial goal with a header from a Beth Tattersall cross to help settle down the Reds. It would be 20 minutes before the next strike, and what a goal it was as Chloe Wild unleashed another monster to beat the keeper from 25 yards. Jess Battle made it 3-0 just over a minute later running on from a pin-point pass from captain Kirsty Chambers, to knock it past the Ashton stopper. Tattersall then got on the scoresheet blasting in off the post after a neat one-two with Battle. Wild then benefitted from a one-two with Parker to give it a 5-0 look at half time. Soon after the restart, Battle chipped over the on-rushing Curzon keeper to make it six and just after Parker outdid her with smooth footwork on the edge of the area and a blast in off the post for 7-0. Wild then got her first FC hat-trick with a great solo effort and super striker, with Battle then getting her fifth hat-trick after a bit of two and fro in the box and a quick turn to slam home. Sub Shellby Wolstencroft got the final two in a 64 seconds, after missing a potential triple previously, with a cool side foot and a trademark dept lob over the goalie.

FC United 1-2 City of Manchester. 20 March 2016. County cup semi-final

The Reds may have lost for the fourth time against City of Manchester in the County Cup, but the narrow margin showed how well FC battled against the higher-placed team. There wasn't a boat load of chances in this semi final, but United held City at bay during a first half which saw the Red's efforts being stronger and more frequent. But it was the Premier team that came out with more desire after the break and it was Jodie Hancock that capitalised on a loose ball in the six-yard box to fire the Blues into the lead. FC battled on for a quarter hour and it was to be the ever-threatening Olivia Gannon that bit back after racing through the defence to power past the City keeper. But 15 seconds into the restart the Blues regained the lead after Chloe Williams parried a shot into the path of Fionnuala Andrews and she slotted in under the FC stopper. City had a late penalty, but Andrews hit the post to keep the score at 2-1 and probably more fair.

Solihull Moors 1-2 FC United. 15 March 2016

Jerome Wright is currently in hot form at the moment, and his goal after 27 seconds against league leaders Solihull Moors proved that point. It was a cross/shot from his favoured left side, but it was enough to put the reds in front and keep them there until the break. It was a strong half for the Reds and belied the 35 points between the teams as United's passing and moving was probably the best of the season. Moors came out quick in the second half and after zipping open FCs defence, Akwasi Asante was left with an easy tap in to level the encounter. But the Reds weren't fazed by the table-toppers and hit back within two minutes through a nod on from new-boy Dale Johnson, feeding George Thomson who wasn't going to be outmuscled, as he slid the ball into the corner of the net to the raptures of FCs visiting fans.

Telford United 5-1 FC United. 9 February 2016
Telford United 5-1 FC United. 9 February 2016

The reds had two chances to open the scoring, but after Telford got their first, they were never in trouble. Substitute keeper Sam Sheridan – on for the injured Dave Carnell – had saved FC twice already, but couldn't get his hands on a diverted shot from John Cofie. Soon after Sheridan tipped a shot onto the post, but was adjudged to have held Connor McCarthy's leg when diving to grab the ball. Red card. Luke Ashworth then took over in the sticks and his first touch was to retrieve the ball from the net after Lucas Dawson converted the penalty. 2-0. Telford started quick in the second half as Dave Hibbert slotted home a nice shot for the Bucks' third. Dwayne Samuels added a fourth with a 20-yarder from the right, before the Reds had something to celebrate as George Thomson got FCs consolation of the night to make it 4-1. Sub Sean Clancy completed the rout from the left to leave the Reds facing their heaviest defeat at this level and a long trip home.

Brackley Town 4-0 FC United. 16 January 2016
Brackley Town 4-0 FC United. 16 January 2016

The Reds never got going in this one and Brackley took all their chances to take the three points. Glenn Walters was the first to get on the scoresheet after little more than five minutes and David Moyo doubled the lead with the same time remaining in the first half. The break gave no rest to the scoring as the Saints carried on where they had left off, with Steve Diggin being left with acres of space to make it three. United had put a couple of chances on target, but they were all dealt with easily and Brackley took all theirs, including the another with 10 minutes to go from Tom Winters. Good atmosphere, bad result.

Stalybridge Celtic 1-0 FC United. 19 September 2015
Stalybridge Celtic 1-0 FC United. 19 September 2015

It was just one of those days, where few chances were created and the smallest of margins could proved decisive. And so it would be when Nia Bayunu twisted his man away from the ball, getting a red as his reward. Bohan Dixon neatly slotted home the spot-kick and with neither team able to find the spark to do any more damage, it finished 1-0 to Celtic and two losses on the trot for FC.
