2016 Sun Belt Basketball Championship Men's Game 1 Highlights South Alabama vs Georgia Southern

The eighth-seeded University of South Alabama men's basketball team held off a second-half rally by fifth-seeded Georgia Southern Thursday evening and upset the Eagles, 67-61 in the opening round of the Sun Belt Conference Championships held at Lakefront Arena. The Jaguars placed four players in double figure, led by Shaq Calhoun's 15. Nick Stover chipped in with 14 points and eight rebounds, while Ken Williams and John Brown finished the night with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

10/24/15: South Alabama vs Texas State Highlights

Robert Lowe ran for 248 yards on 30 carries with three touchdowns, including a game long 54-yarder in the fourth quarter, to help lead Texas State to a 36-18 win over South Alabama on Saturday. Tyler Jones threw for 105 yards and ran for 71 and a touchdown, while Brandon McDowell returned an Aleem Sunanon missed 53-yard field goal 100 yards for a touchdown for the Bobcats (2-4, 1-1 Sun Belt). Sunanon hit a 32-yard field goal to give South Alabama an early 3-0 lead. Texas State seized control from there, however, reeling off 26 unanswered points capped off by a 16-yard Lowe TD run to take a 26-3 lead in late into the third quarter, effectively putting the game out of reach.

9/12/15: UL Monroe vs Nicholls State Highlights

Garrett Smith threw three touchdown passes and ran for another and UL Monroe beat Nicholls State 47-0 on Saturday night. Ajalen Holley had 155 yards receiving with two touchdowns for the Warhawks (1-1), who rebounded from their 51-14 loss on the road against Georgia last week. Smith ran for a 10-yard touchdown and connected with Holley on touchdown passes of 13 and 47 yards. Smith also threw a 17-yard scoring strike to Harley Scioneaux to help the Warhawks build a 40-0 halftime lead. Smith was 26 for 33 for 370 yards passing. Rashon Ceasar added 10 catches for 97 yards receiving.

2015 Sun Belt Baseball Championship: South Alabama vs Arkansas State Semifinal Highlights

No. 1 seed South Alabama used a dominating pitching performance from junior Austin Bembnowski and some timely hitting to eliminate No. 8 seed Arkansas State, 7-1, and advance to the 2015 Sun Belt Baseball Championship Game. South Alabama will play the victor of Saturday's second semifinal between No. 6 seed Texas State and No. 3 seed UL Lafayette. UL Lafayette would need to beat Texas State twice to advance to the championship game while Texas State just needs to win one game. The championship game will be broadcast on ESPN3 at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday.
