Hungary 1-2 Australia: Kadar own goal gives Australia dramatic win

A late own goal from Tamas Kadar saw Australia win their last warm-up game with a 2-1 victory away to Hungary in a dramatic finale on Saturday. The visitors took the lead when Daniel Arzani made an instant impact just one minute after entering the fray in the second half.Australia had struggled to break down a well-organised Hungary side, but young Melbourne City winger Arzani was brought on in the 73rd minute and then proceeded to find the net with a sweetly-struck effort that nestled in the top corner.  RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 Next 'I will be ready': Mohamed Salah insists he will be fit for... Lionel Messi endorses Barcelona's summer pursuit of Antoine Griezmann
Lionel Messi endorses Barcelona's summer pursuit of Antoine Griezmann

Lionel Messi has encouraged Barcelona to complete their protracted pursuit of Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann, stating that the La Liga champions must sign the best players in their quest to be the greatest team in world football.Following last year's strong links with Manchester United that culminated in the French international extending his contract with Los Rojiblancos - then under a recruitment ban - until 2022, Griezmann, who has a release clause of €100million (£88m), finds himself at the centre of a drawn-out transfer saga for the second successive summer.Barcelona have been strongly mentioned in connection with the talented 27-year-old for quite some time, though ABC reported earlier this week that he would not attempt to force through a move to the Nou Camp and had actually 'informed close friends' that he intends to remain with Atletico. It's not yet one hundred percent, but the more quality we have, the better.'Of where Griezmann would play in a star-studded frontline, he added: 'That will depend on the coach. We want to be the best team in the world, and for that we have to look at the best.'Griezmann and Messi are both currently preparing for the World Cup with their respective national sides, with France set to face the United States in their final warm-up friendly in Lyon on Saturday evening and Argentina having cancelled a proposed fixture against Israel in Jerusalem amid political pressure.Les Bleus will face Australia, Peru and Denmark in Russia, while the Albiceleste were drawn in Group D alongside Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria. Sweden 0-0 Denmark: Goalless stalemate at the Friends Arena

Striker Isaac Kiese-Thelin spooned a late shot over the bar with the goal at his mercy as his Sweden side were held to a goalless draw by Denmark in their pre-World Cup friendly at the Friends Arena on Saturday. On a balmy evening, both sides took the opportunity to ease some players back into the fold in a feisty friendly featuring plenty of direct football and a few meaty challenges. The visitors were without Tottenham star and talisman Christian Eriksen for the friendly as he and his partner were expecting the birth of their child. He's on standby for that.' Hareide conceded that Eriksen's absence did cause somewhat of a selection headache and it proved he was right as Denmark struggled to create any clear-cut chances throughout the majority of Saturday's friendly.'We have to try to find someone who can fit [Eriksen's] role. We have different players, but we've also got a new man into the squad.'Deportivo La Coruna’s Michael Krohn-Dehli, who was Eriksen's replacement as the creative force in the side, failed to make the same impact against Sweden and was substituted midway through the second half. Forsberg's best effort came late in the game with a mazy dribble to tee up Kiese-Thelin, but his first-time shot flew harmlessly over the crossbar. Denmark midfielder William Kvist has been out of favour recently at FC Copenhagen but he quickly slotted into a defensive role alongside Thomas Delaney to cancel out the creative threat of Emil Forsberg.

Neymar was the leader at PSG, not me:Unai Emery
Neymar was the leader at PSG, not me:Unai Emery

Newly-appointed Arsenal boss Unai Emery has claimed Neymar was the 'leader' at Paris Saint Germain and not him.The Spanish boss believes Neymar only left Barcelona for Paris last summer to assume such a role because Lionel Messi was in charge at the Nou Camp.'I know when I’m the main person responsible, and when I’m not,' Emery told France Football News. 'It’s a process that a coach has to live with and internalise, and that he assimilates with time and experience. In every club, you have to know what your role is and what role you have vis-a-vis the rest of the group.'I am of the opinion that PSG’s leader is Neymar. Or that he is currently becoming it. Neymar came to PSG to be the leader, to go through this process to someday become the best in the world. At Manchester City, Pep is in charge. At PSG, Neymar has to be.'Emery, who has previously managed Sevilla, Spartak Moscow and Valencia, had never been faced with handling a real superstar until Neymar walked through the door at the Parc des Princes. The Spaniard will be the first to admit he was out of his comfort zone. Emery has a history of overbearing man-management and the player-coach relationship between the pair was never going to run smoothly.  They got into a training ground altercation last year after Neymar had stolen penalty duties off of Edinson Cavani - something Emery privately felt went against all he embodied. But Neymar was made the kingmaker and even picked his games in the domestic calendar so he could rest before Champions League football and Brazil internationals. He was above Emery in the pecking order and beyond his reproach. It went against Emery's morality, but the 46-year-old admitted it forced him to alter  - something that did not go unnoticed. 'A few months ago, a PSG player said to me, "Mister, this year you have changed."' Emery added. 'It was obvious. I couldn’t be the same coach with and without Neymar. We went through a period of adaptation with the player.'It was not instinctive, because we have to really get to know one another. Coaching Messi, Ronaldo or Neymar is not easy.'They are the best in the world so that is a lot to take in. You have to adapt yourself to them. Look at Guardiola at City. He is lucky because he doesn’t have a major figure like that to be faced with.  'There are big players who become one when it really matters. And when it comes to taking radical decisions, Pep took them. For example, by getting rid of Deco, Ronaldinho, or Ibrahimovic when the latter had issues with Messi. By doing this, he avoided serious problems.'Despite Emery's efforts, his PSG tenure - as it was always going to after he had challenged Neymar - came to a sudden conclusion at the end of the season, even though he had delivered the domestic treble. Now with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil to contend with at Arsenal, Emery may look back at his experience at PSG as a blessing in disguise.
