Super Over DC vs SRH IPL 2021 : Why not Jonny Bairstow in Super Over? Delhi vs Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL 2021: Virender Sehwag questions SRH for not sending Jonny Bairstow in Super Over thriller vs DC Sunrisers Hyderabad’s decision to not send fresh legs and in-form opener Jonny Bairstow in IPL 2021’s first Super Over against Delhi Capitals on Sunday baffled fans and cricket pundits alike. Instead, a visibly tired Kane Williamson was asked to join the SRH captain David Warner in a bid to pull off victory after both teams tied at 159 in the thrilling encounter. The decision perhaps proved costly as SRH could only set a target of 8 in the Super Over which Rishabh Pant’s DC crossed on the final delivery. Virender Sehwag has questioned the David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)'s tactics following their Super Over defeat to the Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) in match 20 of IPL 2021 on Sunday evening (April 25). After Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ended Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) unbeaten streak in the competition, on Sunday afternoon, SRH locked horns with DC in Chennai as the match went down to the wire. Opting to bat first, Pant & Co. managed a competitive 159-4, riding on Prithvi Shaw's 53 and handy knocks from Pant and Steve Smith. In reply, SRH lost David Warner (6) soon but were 104-3 in 14 overs before the match went to the Super Over. While Kane Williamson's 66 not out kept SRH in the hunt, he didn't get much support from the other end following Jonny Bairstow's dismissal (38 off 18 balls). What surprised many was that SRH team management went ahead with Warner and Williamson for the Super Over despite Bairstow's rapid knock. As SRH piled up only 7 runs in the Super Over, Pant-Shikhar Dhawan ended proceedings, in reply, by taking their side to a win eventually. Thus, Sehwag questioned SRH's tactics and tweeted, "Unless Bairstow was in toilet, can't get why would he not be your first choice in a #SuperOver when he scored 38 of 18 in the main innings and looked the cleanest hitter. Baffling, Hyderabad fought well but have only themselves to blame for strange decisions. #SRHvsDC" You can follow us on Instagram also : www.instagram.com/cricketnewsdaily1/ Copyright Disclaimer under section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for “fair use” for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, education and research. Harshal Patel, who had been one of the best death overs bowlers of the season so far, was the unfortunate bowler put to the sword as Jadeja went berserk in the 20th over. Here is the sequence of the 20th over of the CSK innings: 6 6 N6 6 2 6 4 #Jadeja #HarshalPatel #RCB CSK vs RCB, IPL 2021: 37 runs, 5 sixes in one over, Ravindra Jadeja thrashes purple cap holder Harshal Patel. RCB vs CSK IPL 2021 Highlights CSK posted 191/4 in their 20 overs vs RCB on the back of Jadeja’s final over assault. Harshal Patel, Purple Cap holder, had figures of 3/14 in 3 overs before the final over assault. He finished with unflattering figures of 3/51. The record for the most runs scored in an over in the IPL is now jointly held by Jadeja and Chris Gayle, who had also smashed 37 runs in an over in IPL 2011. Gayle, then playing for RCB, had sent Kochi Tuskers Kerala’s Prasanth Parameshwaran to the cleaners on that occasion. During a match against South Africa Fakhar Zaman run out on 193(155) by Quinton De Kock fake fielding. He batted superbly along with the tail and made sure that Pakistan were never out of game. His presence in the middle also ensured that the Proteas were on their toes. In the end, Fakhar managed 193 runs off 155 balls and his knock was laced with 18 fours and 10 sixes. Fakhar Zaman 193 vs SA (South Africa) Fakhar Zaman played an ODI knock for the ages as Pakistan ran the hosts close losing by 17 runs in the 2nd ODI vs South Africa in Johannesburg on Sunday. Zaman scored 193 runs off 155 balls before being run out in the last over – breaking the record for the highest score in an ODI innings when batting second. The previous highest when chasing in an ODI was 185 not out by Shane Watson. #FakharZaman #RunOut #QuintonDeKock Run Out by Fake Fielding Quinton De Kock The South Africa wicketkeeper Quinton De Kock pointed his finger towards Lungi Ngidi, the bowler, but in fact Aiden Markram, the fielder, threw the ball towards the keeper’s end and it was a direct hit. Zaman had slowed down his pace at the end of his second run and could not make it back into his crease. However, the rest of the Pakistan team failed to give Zaman much support as they chased 342 to win the match. The second highest scorer in the team was Babar Azam (31). The next highest contribution to the Pakistan total was the 25 extras conceded. Hardik Pandya Sam Curran fight India vs England 2nd ODI Highlights Hardik Pandya and Sam Curran fight: H Pandya and S Curran involved in heated exchange in Pune ODI Hardik Pandya and Sam Curran fight: The two specialist all-rounders were seen in an animated discussion in the second match.Batting at No. 6, Pandya hit his first delivery for a six in the same over. On the penultimate delivery, Pandya hit a low full-toss for another six leaving Curran clueless regarding his line and length. It all happened in the 46th over when Curran leaked as many as 21 runs as the hosts continued to build on their advantage in the business end of the innings. With India wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant also scoring a six off Curran in the same over, things were just not working for the left-arm bowler. Curran, who finished the over with a wide and a dot ball against Pandya, appeared to have said something to Pandya as the latter didn’t hesitate from responding in an even more aggressive manner. Eventually, the on-field umpire intervened to ensure that the players calm down. While Pandya played a quintessential cameo scoring 35 (16) with the help of one four and four sixes, India posted a dominating 336/6 in 50 overs on the back of a brisk 113-run partnership for the fourth wicket between batsman Lokesh Rahul (108) and wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant (77).
