Who Will be on Pole in Bahrain? | Bahrain GP

So with the first two practices out of the way before this weekend’s Bahrain grand prix, which team and which driver is looking like they’ll grab pole and what are my guesess for the top 5 positions in qualifying? Which cars are looking predictable and fast, and which are looking like… a bit of a nightmare. Some of the cars look predictable, fast and nice to drive - some of them looked an absolute nightmare. Will Russell Beat Hamilton in 2022?
Will Russell Beat Hamilton in 2022?

Could George Russell beat Lewis Hamilton this season? George Russell is in a good car for the first time in Formula 1 - well, maybe disregarding that brief (but disappointing) race in the Mercedes in 2020. Now, he’s held up as a driver with massive potential, who just hasn’t been able to show it yet. And going up against Hamilton for this season is really going to show us what he’s made of. BUT - do we really think he can beat Hamilton? Could this 24 year old driver really take on a seven-time world champion? Well, let's go over why I think he’s going to have a real good go at it. ➤ Join our Driver61 Community Discord! - https://discord.gg/YCqFxF27VS ➤ Subscribe for more incredible motorsport: https://goo.gl/AbD2f9 ➤Follow us on: ➤ Instagram- @official_driver61 - https://bit.ly/D61Insta ➤TikTok - @official_driver61 - https://bit.ly/D61TikTok ➤ iPad Drawing sponsored by Concepts, you can get an exclusive free trial here! - https://concepts.app/driver61 So there is no doubt that George is a great driver, but two seasons of battling his teammate for P19 (and sometimes better) doesn’t really show his talent. He made his F1 debut in 2019 with a very dodgy car, then spent 2020 with a less dodgy car and 2021 with a car that could actually compete with the midfield at times. Throughout his entire 3 year spell at Williams, he has thoroughly outperformed both his teammate and the car he was sat in (which of course, we all know). But there have been a couple of really clear examples of this. We all remember that MAGIC lap in Spa to secure a second-place finish - where (in a slower car) he out-paced Lewis {in awful conditions too} and it takes a pretty special drive to do something like that. Then there was the race in Sakhir, where he was less than a tenth of pole, pulled an outrageous overtake on Bottas and had the measure of him on race-pace (all in a car that he had driven for less than 3 hours TOTAL) But really, we are limited in terms of results where he was in a good car. At least in F1, but not if we look back on his career. 📺 F1 Driver’s Technique Explained ➤ Senna’s bizarre technique: https://bit.ly/3lORK59 ➤ How Schumacher’s style won 7 championships: https://bit.ly/3527cVz ➤ Alonso’s strange steering: https://bit.ly/2Z7a93v ➤ How Verstappen will be F1 champion: https://bit.ly/3jK6L6n ➤ How Verstappen is so fast in the wet: https://bit.ly/32WMVhr 📺 F1 Engineering ➤ How F1 brakes work: https://bit.ly/3h0Whh0 ➤ How an F1 clutch works: https://bit.ly/3i0oDJM ➤ What’s inside an F1 gearbox: https://bit.ly/2DzMqRW ➤ How F1 teams change four tyres in two seconds: https://bit.ly/2QVpkIl 🏎️ Track & Racing Driver! ➤ Get a free report on your track driving: http://bit.ly/2LmYNBA ➤ Get faster on track with our FREE 25-part tutorial series:http://bit.ly/2PypIMK ➤ Our real-world training programmes: http://bit.ly/2ktjtgV 🏁 Sim Racers! ➤ My sim wheel: https://bit.ly/354BBlY ➤ My sim pedals: https://bit.ly/3eJckQo ➤ Our sim racing course: https://bit.ly/34WuV7p ➤ Get a free report on your track driving: http://bit.ly/2LmYNBA ➤ Driver61 Sim Racing Channel: http://bit.ly/2BMdk4B #Formula1 #Hamilton #Russell

Why Senna's Driving Style Wouldn't Work Today
Why Senna's Driving Style Wouldn't Work Today

When you watch Formula 1 now, if you’re eagle-eyed (or a driving coach) you will notice that all of the drivers use quite a similar driving style. Like, pretty much, EXACTLY the same. Thumbnail livery by Davide Chiappini - https://instagram.com/davidechiappini_dcgraphics 3D Model by https://racesimstudio.com They are VERY smooth coming off the brakes, then one sweep of the steering wheel into the corner, then out of the corner - and smooth on the throttle again. That’s it, all of them do it. From Lewis, through to Nikita (mostly). ➤ Join our Driver61 Community Discord! - https://discord.gg/YCqFxF27VS ➤ Subscribe for more incredible motorsport: https://goo.gl/AbD2f9 ➤Follow us on: ➤ Instagram- @official_driver61 - https://bit.ly/D61Insta ➤TikTok - @official_driver61 - https://bit.ly/D61TikTok ➤ iPad Drawing sponsored by Concepts, you can get an exclusive free trial here! - https://concepts.app/driver61 Now, I have broken down a lot of different drivers’ driving styles on this channel. The Alonso video kinda kicked things off for Driver61. He would drive in a deliberately horrible style, inducing massive understeer - heating up the famously hard-wearing Michelins to then give him grip on exit. Then there’s Schumacher - he drove the car very hard into the corner and rotated it mid-corner. This meant that he was [actually slower] mid-corner - but he more than made up for it on the entry and with a brilliant exit. —- But, now if you look at Verstappen vs Hamilton - the way they drive the car is remarkably similar. Honestly, go watch some onboards! [After this obviously - I would LOVE to include them here, but we’re not allowed.] So what’s up with that? Have they just cracked the secret to driving? Or is it the cars that mean everyone drives so similarly now? —- Well, let's look back at Senna. Over his time in Formula 1 - he drove a lot of different cars. All of which needed driving differently, so he always needed to adapt to the car. And it’s quite a collection of cars. 📺 F1 Driver’s Technique Explained ➤ Senna’s bizarre technique: https://bit.ly/3lORK59 ➤ How Schumacher’s style won 7 championships: https://bit.ly/3527cVz ➤ Alonso’s strange steering: https://bit.ly/2Z7a93v ➤ How Verstappen will be F1 champion: https://bit.ly/3jK6L6n ➤ How Verstappen is so fast in the wet: https://bit.ly/32WMVhr 📺 F1 Engineering ➤ How F1 brakes work: https://bit.ly/3h0Whh0 ➤ How an F1 clutch works: https://bit.ly/3i0oDJM ➤ What’s inside an F1 gearbox: https://bit.ly/2DzMqRW ➤ How F1 teams change four tyres in two seconds: https://bit.ly/2QVpkIl 🏎️ Track & Racing Driver! ➤ Get a free report on your track driving: http://bit.ly/2LmYNBA ➤ Get faster on track with our FREE 25-part tutorial series:http://bit.ly/2PypIMK ➤ Our real-world training programmes: http://bit.ly/2ktjtgV 🏁 Sim Racers! ➤ My sim wheel: https://bit.ly/354BBlY ➤ My sim pedals: https://bit.ly/3eJckQo ➤ Our sim racing course: https://bit.ly/34WuV7p ➤ Get a free report on your track driving: http://bit.ly/2LmYNBA ➤ Driver61 Sim Racing Channel: http://bit.ly/2BMdk4B #Formula1 #Senna #Schumacher

When Formula 1 Teams Get Caught CHEATING
When Formula 1 Teams Get Caught CHEATING

Formula 1 has a BRILLIANT history of cheating. Sometimes teams and drivers only JUST push the limits. Other times, entire plans are orchestrated and executed to perfection like something out of a heist movie. Drivers have literally cut corners to snatch pole, crashed into each other to win championships and even risked massive explosions to score points. So we’re going to go over some of the most genius cheats that you probably haven’t heard of. He was one and a half race wins worth of points behind Fernando Alonso. He NEEDED to win the Monaco Grand Prix to equal Ayrton Senna’s record of six wins in Monaco and give himself a shot at his eighth world title. On a track where it’s almost impossible to overtake, Ferrari were DESPERATE for pole position. After setting the fastest time in Q3, he bizarrely “LOST CONTROL” of his car at 10 miles an hour at the Rascasse corner. Meanwhile, Fernando was on his hot lap, and two-tenths of a second up on Michael. Schumy had clumsily “parked” across the track and triggered a yellow flag, forcing Alonso to abandon his lap. Nearly every other driver on the grid called out Schumy on his “dirty tactics”. The FIA agreed with them; they denied him pole position and he was made to start from the Pit Lane. Well, that backfired. He drove an EPIC race on Sunday to finish 5th, while Alonso cruised to a comfortable victory and went on to claim the championship that year. But while Fernando Alonso nearly got a rough deal in this incident, he was no stranger to benefitting from controversy. 📺 F1 Driver’s Technique Explained ➤ Senna’s bizarre technique: https://bit.ly/3lORK59 ➤ How Schumacher’s style won 7 championships: https://bit.ly/3527cVz ➤ Alonso’s strange steering: https://bit.ly/2Z7a93v ➤ How Verstappen will be F1 champion: https://bit.ly/3jK6L6n ➤ How Verstappen is so fast in the wet: https://bit.ly/32WMVhr 📺 F1 Engineering ➤ How F1 brakes work: https://bit.ly/3h0Whh0 ➤ How an F1 clutch works: https://bit.ly/3i0oDJM ➤ What’s inside an F1 gearbox: https://bit.ly/2DzMqRW ➤ How F1 teams change four tyres in two seconds: https://bit.ly/2QVpkIl Freezing fuel, flexible front wings and hidden fuel-tanks - F1 engineers always find a clever way to push the limits of the rules. Sometimes they get so close to the limit that it could be considered cheating, however, more often than not - they find an ingenious solution to forge new limits for their designs. 🏎️ Track & Racing Driver! ➤ My sim wheel: https://bit.ly/354BBlY ➤ My sim pedals: https://bit.ly/3eJckQo ➤ Our sim racing course: https://bit.ly/34WuV7p ➤ Get a free report on your track driving: http://bit.ly/2LmYNBA ➤ Driver61 Sim Racing Channel: http://bit.ly/2BMdk4B #F1Cheats #Formula1 #Driver61

Is Verstappen Too AGGRESSIVE? | The F1 Breakdown | Abu Dhabi GP
Is Verstappen Too AGGRESSIVE? | The F1 Breakdown | Abu Dhabi GP

Max Verstappen has made some bold moves all season. Running Lewis wide at Imola, around the outside at Portimao, then sent it down the inside in Spain. I could go on - but there has been a lot of chat saying that Max is TOO aggressive, so let’s take a look. First, there are a few things that make up a ‘Max Verstappen’ move. He can be very, very bold on the brakes. He always seems able to send it from way further back than his competitors expect. And he does this a few ways. Firstly, he often just plays a footrace - who can get to the apex first. This means he can brake much later than you would on a normal lap, carrying more speed in the braking zone, but then having to go slower through the corner. Now, he wouldn’t do this on a normal lap, because it would be awful for lap time - this sort of dart to the apex, stop the car and then get on the throttle out of the corner - only works because it blocks the person being overtaken. Max has done this in Spain, Portugal, Brazil and Abu Dhabi - among others. Now, many would call this a divebomb. Where you make your opponent pick their line, pull out at the last second and brake later - ‘sending it’ basically. And some people seem to see this as an unfair move. So, is divebombing bad? Well, in Max’s case - he is bold, but he never seems out of control and there is rarely any contact. He is extremely skilled at this move. You will also see that Max (pretty much) always, will get FULLY alongside in this kind of move. Making sure to be level through the corner. Where it wouldn’t be fair, and where I would call it an un-safe lunge, would be if you only get your nose alongside the car you’re trying to overtake. At this point, the leading driver will be turning into the corner, and likely won’t see you in the mirrors. Whereas, if you do get alongside - they can see you in their peripheral vision - making the racing cleaner. That to me is a fair move every day, I have done this a lot in my racing - and many other drivers have done it to me. Even back in karting, we used to send some epic divebombs. ➤ Join our Driver61 Community Discord! - https://discord.gg/YCqFxF27VS ➤ Subscribe for more incredible motorsport: https://goo.gl/AbD2f9 ➤Follow us on: ➤ Instagram- @official_driver61 - https://bit.ly/D61Insta ➤TikTok - @official_driver61 - https://bit.ly/D61TikTok ➤ iPad Drawing sponsored by Concepts, you can get an exclusive free trial here! - https://concepts.app/driver61 📺 F1 Driver’s Technique Explained ➤ Senna’s bizarre technique: https://bit.ly/3lORK59 ➤ How Schumacher’s style won 7 championships: https://bit.ly/3527cVz ➤ Alonso’s strange steering: https://bit.ly/2Z7a93v ➤ How Verstappen will be F1 champion: https://bit.ly/3jK6L6n ➤ How Verstappen is so fast in the wet: https://bit.ly/32WMVhr 📺 F1 Engineering ➤ How F1 brakes work: https://bit.ly/3h0Whh0 ➤ How an F1 clutch works: https://bit.ly/3i0oDJM ➤ What’s inside an F1 gearbox: https://bit.ly/2DzMqRW ➤ How F1 teams change four tyres in two seconds: https://bit.ly/2QVpkIl 🏎️ Track & Racing Driver! ➤ My sim wheel: https://bit.ly/354BBlY ➤ My sim pedals: https://bit.ly/3eJckQo ➤ Our sim racing course: https://bit.ly/34WuV7p ➤ Get a free report on your track driving: http://bit.ly/2LmYNBA ➤ Driver61 Sim Racing Channel: http://bit.ly/2BMdk4B #F1 #Formula1 #AbuDhabiGP

Did Verstappen BRAKE CHECK Hamilton? | Saudi Arabia GP | The F1 Breakdown
Did Verstappen BRAKE CHECK Hamilton? | Saudi Arabia GP | The F1 Breakdown

🔔 Join our Driver61 Discord Server for Next Week's Watchalong! ➡️ https://bit.ly/3lkO5gJ Okay, another crazy race, and what a twisting story it was. Yet again, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen were often fighting for the same piece of race circuit. So let’s break down some of the incidents from the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Why did Verstappen crash in qualy, when he didn’t really need to? Was Lewis’ racing fair after the first restart? Will Verstappen EVER yield in wheel-to-wheel racing? And, did he brake test Lewis? First off, the drama all started on Saturday, when Max had put together a mostly astonishing lap - fast, hard and taking risks. He was over 2 tenths up on Hamilton at the end of sector two. Then into the final corner he tried to carry a little too much speed in, locked a front left tyre. Whether or not he needed to be pushing so hard at this point is debatable - especially when he had a good margin. However, it’s unlikely he knew Hamilton’s time, I doubt he was talking to his engineer during the lap (as the Jeddah circuit requires so much focus with little break). So, Verstappen’s only reference would have been his own time delta - the plus or minus his best time - on the steering wheel. And as a racing driver - especially in his position - the default mode is to push as hard as possible. ➤ Subscribe for more incredible motorsport: https://goo.gl/AbD2f9 ➤Follow us on: ➤ Instagram- @official_driver61 - https://bit.ly/D61Insta ➤TikTok - @official_driver61 - https://bit.ly/D61TikTok ➤ iPad Drawing sponsored by Concepts, you can get an exclusive free trial here! - https://concepts.app/driver61 📺 F1 Driver’s Technique Explained ➤ Senna’s bizarre technique: https://bit.ly/3lORK59 ➤ How Schumacher’s style won 7 championships: https://bit.ly/3527cVz ➤ Alonso’s strange steering: https://bit.ly/2Z7a93v ➤ How Verstappen will be F1 champion: https://bit.ly/3jK6L6n ➤ How Verstappen is so fast in the wet: https://bit.ly/32WMVhr 📺 F1 Engineering ➤ How F1 brakes work: https://bit.ly/3h0Whh0 ➤ How an F1 clutch works: https://bit.ly/3i0oDJM ➤ What’s inside an F1 gearbox: https://bit.ly/2DzMqRW ➤ How F1 teams change four tyres in two seconds: https://bit.ly/2QVpkIl 🏎️ Track & Racing Driver! ➤ My sim wheel: https://bit.ly/354BBlY ➤ My sim pedals: https://bit.ly/3eJckQo ➤ Our sim racing course: https://bit.ly/34WuV7p ➤ Get a free report on your track driving: http://bit.ly/2LmYNBA ➤ Driver61 Sim Racing Channel: http://bit.ly/2BMdk4B #SaudiArabianGP #Formula1 #HamiltonVerstappen

Will Hamilton Be 2021 F1 Champion?
Will Hamilton Be 2021 F1 Champion?

🔔 Join our Discord to be a part of the F1 Watchalong in Abu Dhabi! https://bit.ly/3lkO5gJ There are 8 points between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton heading into the final 2 races - things are tight, and things are exciting. So let’s have a look at who the momentum is with, and who I think will win. But first, let us know in the comments who you think will take the driver’s championship - and why. Both Hamilton and Verstappen are driving incredibly well. The stats speak for themselves, 12 times this year they’ve been 1-2. They’ve both destroyed their teammates - Verstappen’s 9 wins to Perez’s 1. Hamilton’s 6 wins to Bottas’ 1. In fact, the times they’ve not been 1-2, either or both had retired, had penalties or there’s been something unusual going on. In Monaco Hamilton was a bit steady. Azerbaijan, Verstappen got a puncture. In Austria, Hamilton had some floor damage. At Silverstone they both absolutely sent it - and we all know what happened. Hungary, Max was taken out by Bottas, AND Lewis was on inters all by himself (lol). Spa wasn’t really a race. At Monza, Verstappen absolutely sent it again - and tried to squash Hamilton. And at Turkey, Hamilton had a 10 place grid penalty. We’ve seen some very hard racing this season between the two. I think this goes down as a classic year - no matter who’s side you sit on. For the independent fan, it’s been incredible. ➤ Subscribe for more incredible motorsport: https://goo.gl/AbD2f9 ➤Follow us on: ➤ Instagram- @official_driver61 - https://bit.ly/D61Insta ➤TikTok - @official_driver61 - https://bit.ly/D61TikTok ➤ iPad Drawing sponsored by Concepts, you can get an exclusive free trial here! - https://concepts.app/driver61 📺 F1 Driver’s Technique Explained ➤ Senna’s bizarre technique: https://bit.ly/3lORK59 ➤ How Schumacher’s style won 7 championships: https://bit.ly/3527cVz ➤ Alonso’s strange steering: https://bit.ly/2Z7a93v ➤ How Verstappen will be F1 champion: https://bit.ly/3jK6L6n ➤ How Verstappen is so fast in the wet: https://bit.ly/32WMVhr 📺 F1 Engineering ➤ How F1 brakes work: https://bit.ly/3h0Whh0 ➤ How an F1 clutch works: https://bit.ly/3i0oDJM ➤ What’s inside an F1 gearbox: https://bit.ly/2DzMqRW ➤ How F1 teams change four tyres in two seconds: https://bit.ly/2QVpkIl 🏎️ Track & Racing Driver! ➤ My sim wheel: https://bit.ly/354BBlY ➤ My sim pedals: https://bit.ly/3eJckQo ➤ Our sim racing course: https://bit.ly/34WuV7p ➤ Get a free report on your track driving: http://bit.ly/2LmYNBA ➤ Driver61 Sim Racing Channel: http://bit.ly/2BMdk4B #Formula1 #Hamilton #Verstappen
