Damian Lillard Knicks, Damian Lillard Lakers and Damian Lillard trade are suddenly all trending again. Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers dealt with these trade rumors a few years ago but they are back again. Dame claims it is a product of the media lacking content to write about and that is partially true. It is also true that if Lillard gets traded it would shake the league. In this video we explore CJ McCollum trade rumors and Damian Lillard trade rumors because if the Blazers were ever to trade one of their stars it would signal a complete Trail Blazers rebuild. #LeBronJames #LeBron #Lakers #LakerNation #NBAReturn IG: https://www.instagram.com/a.m.hoops Twitter: https://twitter.com/CaseyKeirnan LeBron James did not take part in Kyrie Irving’s call to cancel the NBA season. LeBron wants to continue the restart plan as scheduled and did not lend his voice to the discussion. About 80 current NBA & WNBA players as well as retired players were on the call but guys like Patrick Beverley think as long as “The King” isn’t on board with Kyrie then the NBA season will resume. In this video we break down why LeBron wasn’t on the call and what it means that other Lakers were in the discussion. Dwight Howard and Avery Bradley have been vocal about not wanting to play basketball with a social injustice movement taking place. The Lakers’ chemistry could hang in the balance even though anonymous Laker players insist there is “no division.” MUSIC BY: The Trillmatic One SOUNDCLOUD: soundcloud.com/thetrillmaticone INSTAGRAM: @TheTrillmatic1
IG: https://www.instagram.com/a.m.hoops Twitter: https://twitter.com/CaseyKeirnan Kevin Durant told ESPN that his “season is over” and that he is not ready for the intensity of the NBA playoffs when they tip off at Disney World in August. Some fans think Durant is making the correct decision and he should be as safe as possible but others think if he is healthy he should play. In this video we say what a lot of people are thinking but no one will say about Kevin Durant: he looks healthy enough to play and if he is able to take the court then this decision should affect his legacy. KD tore his achilles over a year ago and put his name in to play for USA basketball at the Olympics. The Games would have started 1 week before the NBA training camp. Durant is being conservative and that is not what the greatest players of all time have done historically. Let me know if you agree or disagree in the comments! IG: https://www.instagram.com/a.m.hoops Twitter: https://twitter.com/CaseyKeirnan The Last Dance episodes 9 and 10 ended the documentary that millions watched about Michael Jordan and the Bulls. Fans relived the insane way Chicago broke up the team after their second 3-peat. Jerry Krause and Jerry Reinsdorf are to be blamed for this and that is a major takeaway from the documentary. Jordan says the core would have taken 1-year deals to run it back but that might be unrealistic. Reinsdorf offered Phil Jackson a deal to return but internal damage had been done. The final episodes explore Scottie Pippen’s warrior-like play during Game 6 of the 1998 Finals. Pip played through a back injury and the positive light the film leaves him in is a departure from the angle it took the previous 9 episodes. This video has takeaways and reactions from the last night of The Last Dance. A.M. IG: https://www.instagram.com/a.m.hoops Twitter: https://twitter.com/CaseyKeirnan Everyone needs motivation and before NBA superstars fulfilled their potential most of them chased someone viewed as better than they were. Jayson Tatum, Anthony Davis, Derrick Rose and Trae Young all had that person in their lives as a young baller. This video tells the story of those stars and who they chased and eventually passed growing up. High School basketball rankings often get things wrong and that was the case in every one of these NBA players' lives. It might hurt them at first but in the end it helped to push them to the next level. Let me know what you think of the pursuit each of these stars chased on their way to greatness. A.M. Another interesting question is Kawhi Leonard vs. LeBron James for a championship. Fans are asking each other who they would pick. In this video we break down which one of those elite point guards would be a better pick and while elite forward has the better chance of winning a title this season all things being equal. A.M. IG: https://www.instagram.com/a.m.hoops Twitter: https://twitter.com/CaseyKeirnan LeBron James what if, Lakers what if and NBA what if are major topics with the 2020 season hanging in the balance. Commissioner Adam Silver admitted recently he does not know when or if the NBA season will return which means canceling the season is a possibility. If that happens then LeBron James lost his last chance to win a 4th NBA championship. The King will turn 36 years old in 2021 but his age is just one factor working against the Lakers superstar. In this video we break down why LeBron can't win another ring if the NBA season doesn't return. The Lakers were having a magical 2019/20 season. They were first in the West, their chemistry was on point and LeBron James was having an MVP-level season. The NBA suspended its season and early reports suggested it would definitely return. That would be a good thing for the Lakers. Anthony Davis has dealt with a shoulder issue and time off could only help LeBron but if it does not return it will be near impossible for James to have another title-winning opportunity like this one. The Lakeshow needs LeBron playing at an MVP level to be elite. They are +10.3 points per 100 possessions with him on the court and -1.4 without. That's the difference between the Milwaukee Bucks and Orlando Magic! If LeBron slips even a little bit it would be catastrophic for LA. A slight dip at age 36 is more than reasonable to assume - even if he doesn't fall off a cliff the Lakers could be in big trouble. If they want to improve the roster it will be extremely difficult. The 2020 NBA Free Agent class is average at best, the Lakers have zero cap space and a trade bringing back and elite player will be near impossible. The Lakers' trade package would include their extremely low first round pick and Kyle Kuzma. That will not bring back the caliber of player to push LA to a championship. Twitter: https://twitter.com/CaseyKeirnan IG: https://www.instagram.com/a.m.hoops Steph Curry return did not happen on March 1st as was reported. Steph Curry return against Raptors may happen instead. Whenever the 2-time MVP comes back it needs to happen this season for multiple reasons. The Steph Curry hand injury was so bad it required multiple surgeries and left the Warriors guard with nerve damage. If the Warriors are going to capitalize on their championship window they need to get Steph back on the court as soon as possible. The Warriors medial staff is being extra cautious for good reason. They are still in damage control after they were blamed for Kevin Durant's achilles injury after allowing him to play Game 5 of the NBA Finals in 2019 against the Raptors. They do not want another MVP's bad health to be blamed on them again. Curry will return to a team with the worst record in the league and going nowhere except high in the draft lottery. The Warriors draft pick will be high regardless of whether they win a few extra games down the stretch or not. Last season the Pelicans had just a 7% chance of the number 1 pick and they landed Zion Williamson. That invalid fear is just one reason getting Steph on the court should be paramount to Golden State. In this video we break down all the reasons why Golden State should get Stephen Curry on the court ASAP and what the future could look like for the team when they are finally at full strength again.
