THE REAL REASON Why Golden State Wins The NBA Championship
THE REAL REASON Why Golden State Wins The NBA Championship

The Finals are here and even tho the teams are close in talent level and there’s no clear favorite, everyone has their own prediction and a title pick, so this is why I believe that Golden State will win the championship. What up everybody, my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it. Reason number 1 for me: When you look at examples like these, watch the non stop movement that happens on almost every single offensive possession. This is unlike any other team in the league, there is no comparison for them. Golden State averages only 2 dribbles per touch, by far the fewest in the league, and the least seconds per touch in the league, meaning- as you can see, that the ball just flies all over the floor. The Celtics have improved a lot in terms of their ball movement of course, and credit to Tatum and Brown first and foremost, but I believe that their offense does rely more on these 2 guys making a play for others. And on a stage like the finals, where everything is tighter, it’s harder to score, I look for the offensive flow and getting the best shot possible. And Boston should feel comfortable about matching up with that offense and trying to stop the Warriors, because they have played them really well every time they’ve met, and have the best defense in the league, which is cool, but the Warriors are right there defensively as well at number 2 so this is going to be a bloodbath at both ends of the floor. The Celtics are good at switching, but in my opinion it’s 1 thing to switch against a conventional team and much different against the Warriors where every switch and every moment there the possibility of a player randomly cutting to the rim and getting a layup while all of the attention is on guys like Steph and Klay. Speaking of Curry, there is some tracking data suggesting that when Marcus Smart is guarding him, he doesn’t really shoot well, so Boston likes their chances there, but number 1 he’s been banged up and played a long series, and 2 playing in random regular season games is completely different than matching up in the finals, so both the players and the coaching staff for the Warriors are experienced and will know what to do to get him open. Or use him to get other guys open. And speaking of experience, this is exactly my second reason. The main guys on the roster have been there before so those jitters or the split second indecision, or hesitation that’s a normal part of human nature- they won’t have it in my opinion as opposed to the Celtics. During the season they were the second worst team in the clutch going 13-22 in those games, and Tatum was 9 for 42 from the field in those games along with 13 turnovers and only 7 assists. Tatum was the only 1 in the league who had more turnovers than assists in the clutch. And you may say that this is all stats from earlier in the season before Boston transformed and really became the team that it is now, but almost the exact same thing applies to the playoffs as well. Boston has been shooting just 37.2% in the clutch throughout the playoffs compared to Golden State, the second best team in the postseason at a phenomenal 50% at the end of close games. And finally, I do feel like the Warriors have more guys who can make a good play whether it’s on offense or defense. Beyond Steph and Klay, Poole is a guy who can get hot in the blink of an eye and give you 12 points in a quarter or go off for 30 in a game. He’s been phenomenal these playoffs with 18.5 points per game at a blistering hot 53% shooting. And also, just like Smart is a good matchup for Steph, I feel like Wiggins is the perfect guy to put on Tatum, and I would take his offensive efficiency much more than the inconsistency of Marcus Smart. And as we’ve seen throughout the playoffs different guys have come in and contributed at a high level whenever they’ve been plugged in by Kerr. From Otto Porter, Kuminga and Moody to Bjelica, they fit in perfectly in their roles and make winning plays. With the news about Gary Payton possibly coming back as well, that’s another valuable piece to their winning formula especially on the defensive end. So with game 1 starting tonight, I’m ready to enjoy this series. 2 great teams evenly matched up with almost a 50-50 chance of winning it. And I love both squads. I do know how this works tho, so since I made my pick, I’m ready to be burned alive by comments if I’m wrong. Let me know in the comments who you got. That’s it for now, subscribe and talk to you in the next one. Peace out.

13 Years Later...DESTINY Strikes Again For CP3

Jason Kidd's genius game plan completely demolished the Suns in game 7 and to me it looked eerily similar to another monstrous ...

EXPOSED: How Kyrie Irving Is HURTING The Nets
EXPOSED: How Kyrie Irving Is HURTING The Nets

With 5 minutes left in the season, this was the level of urgency for Kyrie Irving. Dude was chillin with his hands on his hips watching KD fighting with every ounce of energy he had left. Irving has a history of mentally tuning out of games, and he did it again in this game. Let me show you what happened. What up everybody, my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it. On the rebound, if we stop it right here, you see that at this moment Kyrie is pretty much in line with all of these players. But while they all hustle on the fast break, as we let it roll, notice how Kyrie trails behind and ends up being the last one in the back, leaving Durant to do the work. And that was the story throughout this entire game. While KD wanted to go down swinging and took 31 shots, and was clearly aggressive in wanting the ball- you can see Irving on all of these examples just watching in the corner, and barely even moving. It wasn’t even the fact that he went 6 for 13 in an elimination game when he should have been attacking more, but this type of standing around is a horrible look for your superstar player. Right here the Celtics are obviously loaded up on Durant to deny the ball, Kyrie doesn’t even try to get the ball, despite having the much slower Al Horford on him. Boston would gladly let Brown be the one who beats them, and this ends with a miss. This is even worse. With KD on the bench, you know who needs to provide for the Nets offensively. But instead, watch him stand around here and just observe this 2 man game between Curry and Blake that got nothing for them and with no better idea Griffin launches this 3 that misses. It’s so strange because Irving was phenomenal in game 1, but ever since then he was nowhere to be found and the Nets offense was basically 4 guys watching KD go hero mode and take tough shots against different Celtics defenders. This is a deeper issue for them, and it has to do with Durant himself, how the roster is constructed and probably even the coaching staff and their strategy. Speaking of the team as a whole, what in the world were they thinking in this situation. First of all, why is Kyrie rebounding with Blake Griffin outside? Why would you not even give yourself a better chance to get the ball? And since they don’t get it, why isn’t the trap or the foul coming right away from these 2 players, but rather Dragic comes from way out here and leaves Smart alone in a fast break opportunity. And in a scramble situation, you see how that ends with Horford sealing the deal for Boston. As I said, Brooklyn has a lot to solve in this off season. In terms of strategy- both offensively and defensively, then they need to make some roster changes and add some size, but lastly, the attitude definitely has to improve and you can’t have 1 of your superstar players just disappear midway through the series, and not even be interested in the closing game at home. For a player of Irving’s caliber, to me that’s unacceptable. Let me know in the comments what you think is the biggest thing that the Nets need to improve. That’s it for now, subscribe and talk to you in the next one. Peace out.

Luka Doncic Is INJURED & This Changes EVERYTHING!
Luka Doncic Is INJURED & This Changes EVERYTHING!

Luka Doncic got injured and this changes everything, the Lakers are firing Frank Vogel, Jrue Holiday got a 300.000 dollar bonus to only play 8 seconds, and Kevin Love scored 32 points and 10 rebounds in 14 minutes. Wait what?! The last day of the NBA season turned out to be the wildest one. Let me break down everything. What up everybody, my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it. Luka Doncic got a technical 2 days ago, that was supposed to be his 16th of the season and with that be suspended for the final game of the year. However, that got reviewed and rescinded by the NBA so he was eligible to play, and contrary to all the unwritten rules about playing your stars in meaningless games, he was on the court. And the worst thing that could have possibly happened, really happened for the Mavs. Luka suffered a strained calf, an injury that could change everything for Dallas. Players who got that same injury this season, rested for 16 days on average. The quickest turnaround was 3 days however so of course that’s what Dallas fans are hoping for but judging by how Doncic was helped off the floor, and especially judging by what can happen if you rush and come back too quickly. Just ask KD, he wasn’t fully healed from his calf strain in the finals, and we all know the rest. We’ll see if Luka misses games in the playoffs, and how he looks when he actually plays. Moving on, this right here is Jrue Holiday at tip off, and as the Cavs secure possession, he goes and commits a foul, and subs himself out just 8 seconds into the game. As you can see they are all smiles on the bench and guys are even congratulating him. The reason for this is that Holiday had a bonus in his contract for a minimum of 67 games played, and this was his 67th game of the season. So he literally stepped on the floor to secure the bag, and didn’t want to risk anything beyond that. None of the Bucks were playing anyways and Giannis was messing around offering popcorn to the refs, so it was all fun for them on the last game of the season. Wayne Ellington vs Facu Campazzo might be the most bizarre fight ever, but Ellington threatened publicly with this tweet after the game, and honestly he has a good reason for it. Campazzo blindsided him with this hit and sent him straight to the floor. He got an ejection for it btw. And literally 1 second after the final buzzer sounded for the Lakers, Woj tweeted this, announcing that the Lakers will fire Frank Vogel. Vogel himself had a spicy response as he was asked about it in the postgame. The fact that Woj even got the info, and that he got it before Vogel, that guy that should have known first, to me this confirms what I’ve been saying for a long time now in my videos. The Lakers dysfunction runs a lot deeper than just the coach, or just 1 player. This is not how you run a franchise, and this is definitely not how you announce a coaching change. Ok let’s move on to more positive news. Kevin Love was blazing hot last night, dropping 32 points and 10 rebounds while playing just 14 and a half minutes. That’s crazy. ANd he didn’t even need to play any more as the Cavs blew out Milwaukee who as we saw, played with their end of the bench guys. This isn’t strange for Love, if you remember back in 2016 he went God mode scoring 34 points in 1 quarter. And finally this is a fitting stat for the end of the season, teams from the east had a winning record in games against the western conference teams. A narrow victory of 226 to 224. This is just the second time it happened in 23 years which is stunning how dominating the West has been. The fun part starts soon, so tomorrow we’ll go deeper into the play in and playoff matchups. That’s it for now, subscribe and talk to you in the next one. Peace out.

Giannis EXPOSED The Real Issue For Brooklyn
Giannis EXPOSED The Real Issue For Brooklyn

This was almost the exact same shot for KD as game 7 of the playoffs. Only this time, if you really look closely, you’ll see Giannis jumping to double him and actually leaving some space for a bullet pass to Dragic and the game winning layup. But this was not the problem for the Nets of course as I will always live with this shot from one of the deadliest scorers in NBA history. Milwaukee exposed a much bigger issue for Brooklyn, and we gotta talk about it. What up everybody, my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it. Stopping Giannis is almost impossible as it is but then watch this: Right here KD is matched up with him, Matthews just walks up here and there’s literally no effort whatsoever from Durant to fight over, instead he just leaves Antetokounmpo to the much smaller Curry, and just watch how that ends. Easy 2 points. Then, Kessler Edwards was left on an island 2 times in a row, despite clearly not being able to handle Giannis on his own. On this 2nd play, we got the same situation of switching way too easily. James Johnson is the best they got when it comes to defending Giannis so for this switch to happen that easily, it’s unacceptable and you can clearly see the result. This is exactly what I’m saying. See how Johnson can at least provide some resistance on the backdown? That forces Giannis to throw it back out to Jrue but then look at this. Kyrie is just standing here, no communication for him to watch the screen coming, instead this is a casual switch and now Irving is left with Antetokounmpo under the basket and automatically we got the lob, the slight bobble but eventually another finish inside. You can see that all of these are dunks or layups. The Bucks had 16 more points in the paint, 15 more second chance points, provided by the 16 more rebounds that they got against Brooklyn. And you can see that this is the achille’s heel for the Nets. Their defense is straight up bad, but in a potential matchup against Milwaukee- they’re simply too small for them. Look at Seth Curry hanging on for dear life against Jrue Holiday here. Jrue manhandles him all the way to the paint he turns and floats this one in. And right here if I’m him, I’m not coming to double in this situation. I’ll take my chances with KD on him. It’s not that Curry could change much if he comes over. Instead, now the shooter is open in the corner, Antetokounmpo finds him and he knocks it down. Having that huge size disadvantage and not working hard to make up for it is a recipe for disaster. Even with all of this however, the Nets had a 7 point lead with 2 minutes to go, but credit to Giannis for being super clutch, first with the 3 pointer to tie the game in regulation, and then in overtime the 2 free throws to win the game for Milwaukee. A monster game of 44 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists, exposing the Brooklyn weaknesses in the process. I can’t wait for the playoffs to start for yet another potential 7 game series between these 2 teams. If this game was any indicator, it’s about to be crazy in the postseason. Let me know in the comments who you got in a potential matchup in the playoffs. That’s it for now, subscribe and talk to you in the next one. Peace out.

Kyrie Irving TOOK IT PERSONAL Against James Harden
Kyrie Irving TOOK IT PERSONAL Against James Harden

Watch the suffocating defense on this drive by Harden. At this moment we got 4 guys on him and he’s got no place to even breathe, let alone pass or shoot. As much as it was a horrible game by the beard, the Nets had a huge impact defensively, and especially Kyrie Irving believe it or not. Let me show you how he locked Harden down multiple times. What up everybody, my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it. Early on he gets isolated on the left block, and even tho he’s about 20 kilos lighter, Kyrie stays strong here, makes a play on the ball and this is a solid defensive possession. And right here look at him playing physical and pressuring way out at the 3 point line. So on the screen, KD is gonna help but look at the effort from Irving to fight through and still be there to bother on the shot and you can see this ends up as a bad miss. Just look at the way he’s hounding him all over the floor, and again fights over the screen, as James goes inside, Kyrie makes one extra push to stay close and swipes for the ball, to get it out of his hands, another broken possession and another miss. And I love subtle things like this. We’ll stop it right here on the back screen and watch this little detail. Kyrie knows that someone will switch on to Harden but as he tries to follow him, he also grabs the jersey of Niang to make sure that he’s attached to him as well in the case of a roll. This is a veteran move and shows that he’s engaged and paying attention defensively, so as we let it roll again, you see that the Nets swarm Harden once again, and the lead is already blown out to 20 points, so you see exactly how they did it on this end. And lastly let me show you possibly my favorite situation involving Kyrie. On this play, he sniffs out the pass that’s supposed to go down here. And he ever so slightly and subtly moves in a diagonal line in that direction and as soon as Harden puts 2 hands on the ball, he jumps the passing lane, and intercepts it, the great instinct, the anticipation and reaction by Irving, as he played terrific defense throughout the entire game. For a guy that’s definitely not known for his talents on that end of the court, this was a nice surprise, but he fit in perfectly with the rest of the team who absolutely destroyed Philly with 13 steals in this game resulting with 28 fast break points that’s almost a quarter of the total points being scored that way. This game showed just how powerful the Brooklyn Nets really are. On both ends of the floor. And Philly has a lot of things to figure out for a potential playoff matchup.

Harden + Embiid = UNGUARDABLE
Harden + Embiid = UNGUARDABLE

When was the last time you heard Oohs and Aahs from the crowd just from a player accelerating? Honestly, watching this game ...
