Eden Hazard inspired Chelsea to a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday. The 27-year-old forward fuelled speculation over his future this week by stating he will wait and see how Chelsea's close-season transfer policy develops before committing to a new contract at Stamford Bridge. But he was all business at England's national stadium as he turned the first half into an ordeal for Phil Jones – the United defender whose clumsy foul meant Hazard won and converted a 22nd-minute penalty. Here we take a look at the key statistics and best reactions after Antonio Conte’s men pipped arch-rival Jose Mourinho’s team. England manager Gareth Southgate lauded his players for showing tactical awareness as they defeated Netherlands 1-0 in an international friendly in Amsterdam on Friday. "Yeah, really pleased with the quality of our football, the tactical awareness the players showed. I think Holland changed system three times within the game, and we were looking to see how our players would respond and they identified it each time, managed to make use of the overloads that we had in the right areas. So I was pleased, I knew we'd have paste and energy in the team, but I was really, really pleased with the composure especially the playing through the first two-thirds of the pitch," he told reporters after the game. Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli accepted on Thursday the two-time world champions’ chances at the World Cup in Russia will depend far more on Lionel Messi than his own influence.Sampaoli was drafted in for Argentina’s final four matches of a faltering qualifying campaign, but it was Messi’s brilliant hat-trick in a 3-1 win at Ecuador in their final qualifier that ensured they didn’t miss out on the World Cup. “This is going to be his team,” said Sampaoli, ahead of Friday’s friendly against Italy at Manchester City’s Etihad stadium. “He is the best and is in a stage of maturity that he can carry the team on his shoulders. It is more his team than mine.” (Video courtesy: SNTV) Subscribe to our channel: http://read.ht/fLZ Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/htTweets Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/hindustantimes iOS:- http://m.onelink.me/bcae8b2d Android:- http://m.onelink.me/986f584a Watch more videos at: http://www.hindustantimes.com/video hindustantimes.com © 2016
David De Gea helped Manchester United hold Sevilla to a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie in Seville on Wednesday. The Spanish international goalkeeper tipped a header from Steven N'Zonzi over the crossbar and produced a spectacular one-handed save to thwart Luis Muriel just before the break. However, manager Jose Mourinho is far from a relieved man to leave Seville with a goalless draw, insisting that the match will only be decided at Old Trafford.
