NBA 75 GREATEST PLAYERS: #11 Shaq
NBA 75 GREATEST PLAYERS: #11 Shaq

THE ENTERTAINER WITH UNLIMITED TALENT. Shaquille O’Neal is widely regarded as one of the most dominant players in NBA history. He amassed a number of accolades throughout 19 seasons in the league, including Rookie of the Year and MVP honors. O’Neal won four NBA titles and was named Finals MVP three times. Stationed at the center position, O’Neal made an immediate impact the moment he entered the league in 1992 as the Orlando Magic’s No. 1 overall Draft pick. He became the first player in NBA history to be named Player of the Week in his first week in the league. The Louisiana State product played four seasons with Orlando, which included a trip to the NBA Finals in 1995. He led the league in scoring that season with 29.3 points per game. O’Neal signed with the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent in 1996, joining the franchise he would eventually become most synonymous with. From 2000-2003, O’Neal helped guide the Lakers to three straight championships. He averaged a combined 35.7 points and 14.9 rebounds during the three-peat, earning Finals MVP in each series. O’Neal enjoyed much success while playing alongside superstar Kobe Bryant in Los Angeles. The tandem is considered one of the most legendary duos in NBA history, but growing friction between the two stars resulted in a split following the Lakers’ loss to the Detroit Pistons in the 2004 NBA Finals. O’Neal played eight seasons for the purple and gold and ranks seventh all-time in franchise points, sixth in rebounds and second in blocks. In 2006, O’Neal returned to the NBA Finals and helped the Miami Heat capture their first championship. It would be O’Neal’s fourth and final title. Embracing a plethora of nicknames, “Superman” maintained a humorous and lively attitude while being the biggest nightmare for opposing teams throughout his career. He stood tall at 7-foot-1 and weighed 325 pounds. To help neutralize O’Neal’s imposing physical presence, “Hack-a-Shaq” was born. The strategy intended to exploit O’Neal's poor free-throw shooting by committing intentional fouls on him. He finished his career with 11,252 free throw attempts, the third most in NBA history. After helping his first three teams reach the NBA Finals, O’Neal played for three more organizations (Suns, Cavaliers, Celtics) before retiring from basketball. The future “Inside the NBA” personality announced his retirement on social media in 2011. O’Neal won two scoring titles and finished with a total of 28,596 career points, the eighth most in league history. He ranks sixth all-time in field goals, 15th in rebounds and eighth in blocks. His 15 All-Star appearances are tied for the fourth most in NBA history. “The Diesel” won three All-Star Game MVPs, including a co-MVP that he split with former teammate Bryant in 2009. Both the Lakers and Heat retired O’Neal’s jersey. His dominant career culminated with an induction to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. #Shaq #NBA75 #MoeDeesBasketball MoeDee's Basketball Social Media website: www.moedeesbasketball.org Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/moedeesbasketball/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/moedeesbasketball/?hl=en Twitter: https://twitter.com/moedeesbball?lang=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClw1uO8WIvyjmtirDMrz2Zg?view_as=subscriber LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/moedeesbasketball/

Michigan State vs Penn State Highlights 11/27/2021

Michigan State took advantage of a late turnover by Penn State to score a touchdown and recovered an onside kick with less than a minute left as the Spartans beat the Nittany Lions, 30-27, on a snowy Senior Day at Spartan Stadium. The victory over Penn State secured MSU's 10th win, marking the ninth time the Spartans have recorded at least 10 victories in a season and the first time since 2017. "I just can't say enough about this group," said MSU head coach Mel Tucker. "This group of guys, this group of coaches is a really special, special group, and it's an honor and a privilege to work with them, and they're resilient. They fight like heck out there, and you can tell they play for each other." Kenneth Walker III recorded his eighth 100-yard rushing game of the season with 138 yards on 30 carries, scoring one touchdown. Payton Thorne was 19-of-30 passing for 268 yards and two touchdowns, including a 15-yard scoring pass to Jayden Reed with 5:10 to play that gave the Spartans a 30-20 lead. Reed caught 10 passes for 89 yards. Defensively, Cal Haladay led the Spartans with 11 tackles, including 2.5 for loss, while Darius Snow and Drew Beesley had seven tackles apiece. Michigan State will find out our bowl destination on Sunday, Dec. 5. #MichiganStateSpartans #MoeDeesBasketball MoeDee's Basketball Social Media website: www.moedeesbasketball.org Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/moedeesbasketball/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/moedeesbasketball/?hl=en Twitter: https://twitter.com/moedeesbball?lang=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClw1uO8WIvyjmtirDMrz2Zg?view_as=subscriber LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/moedeesbasketball/

Chet Holmgren Flosses on UCLA
Chet Holmgren Flosses on UCLA

In a much-hyped rematch of last year's Final Four instant classic, top-ranked Gonzaga put the rest of the college basketball world on notice Tuesday night. The Bulldogs blitzed No. 2 UCLA from the opening tip, jumping out to a 33–10 first-half lead as part of a 83–63 blowout win at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The lead ballooned to 24 in the second half, and the Bruins never got closer than 17. The Bulldogs put on a clinic on both ends, shooting 56.0% from the floor and 39.1% on three-point attempts while holding UCLA to just 34.8% shooting. Gonzaga made UCLA stagnant on offense, with the Bruins notching just seven assists as a team. On a night when many Bulldogs starred, it was freshman phenom Chet Holmgren that shined brightest. Holmgren ended up with 15 points on 6-for-8 shooting, adding six rebounds with four blocks and a steal. The 7-footer harassed any Bruins who came into the paint, altering shot after shot and delivering the game's most jaw-dropping highlight when he blocked a shot and dribbled the length of court, showing off his supreme handles and finishing with a two-handed dunk. Senior guard Andrew Nembhard led all scorers with 24 points, adding five rebounds and six assists. Drew Timme finished with 18 points and eight rebounds. UCLA's Jaime Jaquez Jr. led the Bruins with 19 points but struggled from the field, going 7-for-22. Johnny Juzang had 11 points, while Tyger Campbell added 13.

Michigan State 89 - Niagra 65 11/14/2021
Michigan State 89 - Niagra 65 11/14/2021

A strong first-half start was all the Spartan women's basketball team needed to cruise to a 89-65 win over Niagara Sunday afternoon at the Breslin Center. This is the seventh-straight season that Michigan State has started the season with a 2-0 record. With the loss Niagara falls to 1-2 this season, also losing to Oakland on Nov. 12. With the win, head coach Suzy Merchant also inched closer to another milestone. She now has 499 career wins and 298 wins at Michigan State. For the second-straight game, MSU had at least four players in double figures, paced once again by junior guard Alyza Winston, who led all scorers with 17 points to go along with a career-high six assists. Senior guard Nia Clouden added 12 points, while freshman guard DeeDee Hagemann and junior forward Taiyier Parks both scored 11. Hagemann continues her strong start adding a game-high seven helpers. Clouden scored the first six points of the game, as MSU jumped out to an early 8-0 lead. After making 5-of-6 field goals, Michigan State extended its lead to 19-4 with under three minutes remaining in the quarter. Turnovers plagued the Purple Eagles in the first quarter as 12 turned into 11 points for the Spartans. MSU ended the first period with a 28-8 advantage. In the second quarter, the Niagara offense came to life, as MSU only out-scored NU, 22-19. Niagara chipped away at the deficit, using a 7-0 run, but a pair of Hagemann free throws put the lead back to 23 points. At the half, the Spartans held a 50-27 lead over the Purple Eagles. A 6-0 run gave MSU a 65-41 advantage in the third quarter with less than four minutes remaining in the period. Winston and Clouden combined for 10 of the Spartans' 24 third-period points. Michigan State distributed the ball well in the quarter with 11 assists on 11 made baskets. Parks was stellar on both ends of the floor in the second half with four points, three rebounds in two steals in the final 20 minutes of play. Freshman forward Isaline Alexander got some good minutes off the bench in the fourth quarter as well. The Canadian import scored eight points in the fourth period, adding three rebounds. Michigan State continues its four-game homestand with two home games next week. The Spartans will host Valparaiso on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m., before taking on Bryant on MSU Day on Friday, Nov. 19 at 12 p.m. #MichiganStateSpartans #MoeDeesBasketball MoeDee's Basketball Social Media website: www.moedeesbasketball.org Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/moedeesbasketball/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/moedeesbasketball/?hl=en Twitter: https://twitter.com/moedeesbball?lang=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClw1uO8WIvyjmtirDMrz2Zg?view_as=subscriber LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/moedeesbasketball/

MSU vs Maryland Highlights 11/13/21
MSU vs Maryland Highlights 11/13/21

On Saturday, Michigan State hosted Maryland for a chance to bounce back. Michigan State took down Maryland 40-21 thanks to a big first-half, outscoring the Terrapins 27-14. It wasn't always pretty, but in the end, Michigan State's 40-21 victory over Maryland in East Lansing on Saturday was a commanding one. The Spartans still have some cleaning up to do in the defensive backfield with Ohio State waiting for them next weekend, but Michigan State's offense still has its swagger. Kenneth Walker III had 143 yards rushing and two touchdowns, Jayden Reed had 114 yards receiving with two touchdowns, and Payton Thorne threw for 287 yards and four touchdowns on 22-for-30 passing. #TuckComing #MichiganStateSpartans #MoeDeesBasketball MoeDee's Basketball Social Media website: www.moedeesbasketball.org Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/moedeesbasketball/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/moedeesbasketball/?hl=en Twitter: https://twitter.com/moedeesbball?lang=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClw1uO8WIvyjmtirDMrz2Zg?view_as=subscriber LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/moedeesbasketball/

Chet Holgren Does It All in Gonzaga's Season Debut
Chet Holgren Does It All in Gonzaga's Season Debut

No. 1 recruit Chet Holmgren finished with a rather historic stat line on Tuesday during his collegiate debut in the top-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs’ win over Dixie State. Holmgren produced 14 points, 13 rebounds, seven blocked shots and six assists during the 97-63 victory. He became the first player over the last 25 seasons to register at least 10 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five blocks in a Division I debut, according to ESPN Stats & Info. I was very impressed with him and hope the Pistons can draft him. #ChetHolgrem #GonzagaBulldogs #MoeDeesBasketball MoeDee's Basketball Social Media website: www.moedeesbasketball.org Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/moedeesbasketball/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/moedeesbasketball/?hl=en Twitter: https://twitter.com/moedeesbball?lang=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClw1uO8WIvyjmtirDMrz2Zg?view_as=subscriber LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/moedeesbasketball/

Michigan State vs Purdue | Highlights | November 6, 2021
Michigan State vs Purdue | Highlights | November 6, 2021

This one hurts, I won't lie. Purdue is a quality team and winning on the road in the B1G is hard. Purdue earned this win, make no mistake about it. Giving up 536 passing yards is just unacceptable from our defense. David Bell is the best WR in the conference but still 217 yards, come on man. Aidan O'Connell really carved our defense up and our offense just couldn't score at the same pace. I have perspective and before the season if you would have told me that after 9 games we would be 8-1, #8 in the country, beat michigan AGAIN! I would have said RUN DAT!!! As much as yesterday hurt, we are having a GREAT season! Go Green!!! #MichiganStateSpartans #TuckComing MoeDee's Basketball Social Media website: www.moedeesbasketball.org Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/moedeesbasketball/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/moedeesbasketball/?hl=en Twitter: https://twitter.com/moedeesbball?lang=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClw1uO8WIvyjmtirDMrz2Zg?view_as=subscriber LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/moedeesbasketball/
