Sunderland, embarrassingly, are now seven games without a victory in the third tier of english football after Blackpool secured a 1-0 win at the Stadium of Light. We really need to be careful if we are finishing in the playoff positions.
Despite leading twice away at leaders Hull City, Sunderland ended their recent run of losses with a 2-2 draw at the KCOM Stadium. Hopefully Lee Johnson’s Black Cats find some good form ahead of what is almost certainly a playoff campaign!
Yet again, Sunderland didn’t get the required result and if top two wasn’t gone before, it most definitely is now. All we can focus on now is trying to gain confidence and momentum back for the playoffs - but we need to seriously start stepping up.
I have no words. Well, apart from the ones I say in this incoherent mess of a video. Hopefully you all find something good about it at least!
Charlton better do that against Peterborough & Hull! As for Sunderland, we must respond to this setback with a good set of wins, starting on Tuesday at Wigan!
Aiden McGeady’s late free-kick earned Lee Johnson’s Sunderland a draw at fellow automatic promotion candidates Peterborough. The result leaves the situation in the Black Cats’ own hands with eight games of the season remaining. Hopefully they manage to finish the season in either first or second spot.
Sunderland won a tight game at the Memorial Stadium against Bristol Rovers as Aiden O’Brien’s first-half goal was the match winner. Big result with Hull City dropping points against Gillingham & we also pulled a bit clear of Lincoln. Huge last 10 games left for us!
Despite Calum McFadzean’s first-half goal, Sunderland were pegged back by Lincoln City at the Stadium of Light. However, Peterborough & Hull also both dropped points so the point doesn’t look quite as bad however it also somewhat felt like a missed opportunity for Lee Johnson’s side. Still, can’t win them all.
