With the Los Angeles Lakers shooting 50% from three and 48% from the field, the Utah Jazz needed someone to step up and Ricky Rubio answered the call. Scoring 31 points with 6 rebounds and 8 assists, Ricky Rubio saved the Jazz from what would have been a devastating loss. His counterpart, Donovan Mitchell, was also big scoring 26 while hitting 4/8 from three. The Jazz backcourt is gelling at the perfect time and has the chemistry to cause damage to whoever they play in the playoffs. Rudy Gobert was as dominant as ever on defense. His stat line of 12 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists was mammoth. Derrick Favors was his regular self with 15 points on 7/11 shooting. All in all a good win for the Jazz who need every victory they can to get a better seed in the playoffs.
Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum were huge for the Boston Celtics in their 97-94 victory over the Utah Jazz. Tatum scored 16 and looked aggressive and strong while Brown scored 21 including a backbreaking three to win the game. This is a tough loss to swallow for the Jazz who were playing an injured Celtics team and a lead with only minutes left. The Celtics won the game shooting 57% from three which the Jazz were never able to slow down. Considering the Jazz shot 27% from three, it’s amazing how close the game was. Donovan Mitchell was as calm and collected as ever in the 4th and even though the Jazz lost, seeing him man the ship at the end of games is going to be amazing for years to come.
Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers have an incredibly intricate offense. 8 bit NBA will explain it to you. #lebronjames #lebron #nba
This was a game that only good teams find a way to win. The Sacramento Kings shot a blistering 66% from three against the Utah Jazz, the best defensive team in the NBA. The Jazz also had 15 turnovers creating tons of easy buckets for the Kings. But it didn’t matter because the Jazz are an elite team. They know how to win. Donovan Mitchell scored 28 points. On top of that he had 3 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 steals. He was all over the court and got the buckets at the end of the game that sealed it off. Think what you will, but Donovan Mitchell has proved his ability night in and night out and deserves every bit of that Rookie of the Year award. It’s over, Rudy Gobert is the DPOY. He’s DOMINANT with a capital D(fense). No other player impacts the game the way he does. The Jazz are in every game they play with Rudy because he keeps it close. Other teams lose half their offense against the Jazz because they lose all inside scoring. He’s remarkable and, if the Jazz ever had a player that could take them all the way, it’s Rudy Gobert. Oh and that Quin Snyder guy is pretty good, as well. But I don’t know if the Jazz can nab three awards can they?
The Utah Jazz came into the game against the Indiana Pacers ready to win and it showed. From start to finish, the offense flowed nicely and the defense was stout. Anchored by Rudy Gobert the Jazz held the Pacers to just 84 points on 38% shooting. So much of that is the presence of Gobzilla, the destroyer of dreams and offenses. And as good as Rudy was on offense, Joe Ingles was nearly as good on both ends. With 11 points, 10 assists and a team leading +22, Joe Ingles was mammoth in helping the Jazz get their 4th straight win. Donovan Mitchell had another 20 point game which, at this point, the Jazz should probably just expect every game at this point. The consistency from Donovan, as a rookie, is insane.
LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE!!! The Utah Jazz missed out on a big opportunity to upset the Houston Rockets Monday night with the Rockets missing Ryan Anderson, Clint Capela and Eric Gordon. But with 22 turnovers and a combined 24% from three, the Jazz couldn’t get the upset against the best team in the league. Defensively the Jazz did a nice job holding James Harden to 1/5 from three and 26 points and Chris Paul to only 15, but it was their inability to make good passes and hit open shots that did them in. Probably the best players for the Jazz were Ricky Rubio and Rudy Gobert who had the best plus/minus of all the starters.
Another night, another win. The Utah Jazz are rolling now with an 8-game winning streak. Joe Ingles had a career high in points (23) while also adding 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Donovan Mitchell had 25 points with 6 rebounds and 4 assists. He also had two hammer dunks that nearly took my soul. On top of that, Rudy Gobert and Derrick Favors dominated inside defensively. All in all it was a decisive victory for the Jazz who look downright unbeatable right now.
On a night when Donovan Mitchell was still sick from the flu, Rodney Hood stepped up in a big way to help the Utah Jazz beat the New Orleans Pelicans. Hood was brilliant shooting 12/14 from the field. Also making a big impact was Joe Ingles who continues to shoot lights out. Ingles filled the stat sheet with 18 points on 4/5 from three with 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. You’d think he’d be the plus minus all star for the Jazz but that was Derrick Favors who was a +33 in the game. Favors is such an all-around beast at the 4-spot that helps you win games and the Jazz are lucky to have him. The Jazz have now won six in a row. If they can keep up this pace, they’ll be playing for more than just the 8 seed.
