This pitch has been great for teams that have been chasing and the visitors will take confidence from that fact as they look to register an important win. Gujarat have a formidable bowling attack and with the home crowd behind them they will feel confident of defending the total they have put up on the board. Will they get back-to-back wins? Or will the visitors return to winning ways? Gujarat did not get off to the best of starts losing Wriddhiman Saha on a low score but his partner Shubman Gill continued to attack the bowlers. Hardik Pandya hung around for a bit but was dismissed as he looked to accelerate the scoring. Shubman Gill reached a well-constructed half-century but perished soon after and Vijay Shankar followed him back to the shed playing a loose shot. Abhinav Manohar and David Miller got together to put on a 71-run partnership in 35 deliveries as they provided the much-needed impetus towards the end of the inning. The former departed after scoring 41 in 21 deliveries while Miller fell four runs short of his fifty but did the necessary damage with Rahul Tewatia towards the end. The two hitters for the host took them beyond the 200-run mark and they will be silently confident of their chances in this game. David Miller and Rahul Tewatia have shown why they are the best finishers in the Indian T20 League! Gujarat have finished strong as they put on 70 runs in the last four overs and have 207 runs on the board which they will be mightily pleased with. Mumbai's death bowling woes continued as they were unable to wrap up the good effort they put in for the first 16 overs. Arjun Tendulkar and Jason Behrendorff bowled with discipline with the former drawing first blood. The spinners controlled the middle overs well with Piyush Chawla taking two crucial wickets and Kumar Kartikeya dismissing the dangerous-looking Shubman Gill. Cameron Green had an off day as he conceded 39 runs in two overs while Riley Meredith and Jason Behrendorff also went for plenty in their last overs despite taking one wicket each. Captain to captain and Hardik Pandya comes out on top against Rohit Sharma. This is banged in a bit shorter at 144 clicks and angled into the batter. Sharma tries to back away and play at it but gets himself into a real tangle. Sharma ends up half-pulling it but the ball comes off the leading edge and pops straight up. Pandya doesn't have to move much and takes a simple catch. Dream start for Gujarat. Also Cameron Green walks out to bat now. Connects one and gets the maximum result. Pitched up on off stump Cameron Green backs away and thumps it over the long off fence for a biggie. A real sorter from Hardik Pandya but it costs him four runs. Bangs in a quick bumper and gets it right around the helmet. Cameron Green looks to take it on but almost gets taken out. Wriddhiman Saha fails to get a hand on it and the ball runs away into the fence. In this IPL Mohammed Shami has bowled 70 dots in the first six overs which is the most by a bowler. Gets one away and that will help Ishan Kishan boost his confidence. Short of a length around middle and leg Kishan picks it up and short-arm jabs it over mid-wicket for a boundary. Mumbai Indians are struggling in the run chase of 208. They have lost Rohit Sharma very early to Hardik Pandya and have just 29 runs in six overs. Both Shami and Pandya bowled magnificently and kept the batters on bay. Green is trying to smash them but Kishan is unable to put proper bat on the ball. The home team will look to get their campaign back on track while the away side will be desperate for their second win of the season. A poor delivery and rightly punished! Washington Sundar darts this full and down the leg side David Warner goes down and sweeps it over short fine leg for a boundary. Hyderabad have suffered from inconsistency so far. They have had some good moments here and there but haven't managed to get the best out of all the departments at the same time. Aiden Markram will be hoping that his boys put their best foot forward in this one. Harry Brook will be looking to add to his tally of runs but he will need support from others and they need to avoid losing wickets in clumps. They have a good bowling attack with the raw pace of Umran Malik and the swing of Marco Jansen and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Delhi on the other hand finally managed to get their first win of the season in their last game but they almost made a mess of it in the end. However the win should give them a bit more confidence to express themselves on the field. David Warner has consistently scored runs for them without getting any support except from Axar Patel who has been their best all-round player. They will need a lot more from Mitchell Marsh and Prithvi Shaw while Anrich Nortje has been decent in the bowling department along with Kuldeep Yadav. Bhuvneshwar Kumar draws first blood! Salt goes back for a golden duck. Kumar lands this on a hard length and around off shaping away sharply Philip Salt looks to guide it towards third man but only manages to get a thin outside edge towards the keeper where Heinrich Klaasen pouches it safely. There is a muted appeal for the catch as nobody is sure but up goes the finger and the Hyderabad players are delighted. Delhi lose their first wicket! Marsh greets Marco Jansen with a boundary! Jansen begins with a full delivery on leg Marsh stays there and flicks it over mid-wicket for a boundary. Two in two! This is full again but on the pads Marsh glances it towards the fine leg fence for another boundary. Up and over! Jansen lands this on a good length and around off Mitchell Marsh strides forward a bit and slices it over point for the third boundary of the over. Shot of the match so far! Marco Jansen serves this full and on off Mitchell Marsh leans on to his drive and creams it through covers for four more runs. Marsh is finding the middle of the bat here! Believe it or not this is the first six for Warner in this season! Sundar floats this up full and around middle and leg David Warner goes down on his knees again and slog-sweeps it way over the deep square leg fence for a biggie. T Natarajan serves this full and on middle Mitchell Marsh goes for the big drive but his bat turns in his hands when he connects. However luckily for him the ball goes in the air and wide of mid on for a boundary. T Natarajan strikes! He gets the big man Mitchell Marsh! This is a really good review from Hyderabad. T Natarajan bowls this on a good length around middle and leg nips away a bit Mitchell Marsh looks to work it away but misses and gets hit on the pads. There is a huge appeal for LBW but turned down as it looks like pitching down the leg side. However UltraEdge shows that no bat involved and Ball Tracking indicates three reds. Hyderabad players starts celebrating but Marsh will have make that long walk back after a good cameo. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content. It was exactly two weeks ago that Rinku Singh smashed all those sixes to pull off that unbelievable heist. Since then KKR have lost all their three matches and find themselves close to the bottom with problems in too many departments. And today they welcome a high-flying CSK a team that has traditionally had the edge over them with a 17-9 head-to-head record in the IPL. Kolkata Knight Riders will have to score the season's biggest score to register a difficult win at home against Chennai Super Kings. Magnificent batting performance from all the CSK batters have propelled the yellow army to the season's biggest score so far as they finish at 235/4 against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. After putting in to bat first by Nitish Rana the openers started with a flash adding 59 runs in the powerplay. Suyash Sharma the new recruit for KKR got the first wicket in the 8th over knocking Ruturaj Gaikwad's off stump as the opener walked back for 35. Ajinkya Rahane joined the already set Devon Conway and started in aggressive fashion hitting all the bowlers all over and also played some unorthodox strokes for boundaries. Devon Conway scored his fifty in 34 balls and was out for 56 to Varun Chakravarthy. CSK crossed 100 in the 11th over when Shivam Dube (50 off 21) walked in at number 4 and continued where Conway left off hitting 5 big sixes and 2 fours bringing up his 50 in 20 balls. Rahane and Dube the Mumbai boys added 85 runs for the third wicket when Dube perished in the 18th over to Kulwant Khejroliya. Ravindra Jadeja also scored quickly in his 8-ball 18-run cameo to push CSK past 200. Khejroliya chipped with Jadeja's wicket in the final over bringing MS Dhoni out int he middle who remained unbeaten to take the score to 235/4. Ajinkya Rahane was unbeaten at 71 in just 29 balls hitting 6 fours and 5 sixes in his innings. A total of 18 sixes were hit in the innings. Suyash Sharma (1/29) was the most economical of the lot with Kulwant getting 2 wickets for 49 runs. No other bowler had an economy of under 11 for the Knight Riders. An exciting second innings await us as KKR face an uphill task of getting the biggest score of the season. Kolkata Knight Riders (Playing XI): N Jagadeesan(w) Jason Roy Nitish Rana(c) Andre Russell Rinku Singh Sunil Narine David Wiese Kulwant Khejroliya Suyash Sharma Umesh Yadav Varun Chakaravarthy. Kolkata Knight Riders subs: Mandeep Singh Anukul Roy Vaibhav Arora Litton Das Venkatesh Iyer. Chennai Super Kings (Playing XI): Ruturaj Gaikwad Devon Conway Ajinkya Rahane Moeen Ali Ambati Rayudu Shivam Dube Ravindra Jadeja MS Dhoni(w/c) Matheesha Pathirana Tushar Deshpande Maheesh Theekshana. Chennai Super Kings subs: Akash Singh Dwaine Pretorius Subhranshu Senapati Shaik Rasheed RS Hangargekar. Shivam Dube (Chennai Super Kings): "Yes definitely. I am enjoying hitting sixes and loving it. Definitely my role is to take on the bowlers and up the ante and glad I did it. I have played them in the past and struggled. I planned it well and paid off in the end. Playing with Rahane helps as he rotates the strike and helps me keep the shape. Definitely I think it's a good score. If we bowl well we should be able to defend this total." Meanwhile CSK are going strong at the moment and will be oozing confidence. It'll be a battle to watch out for and expect a full house in Kolkata. One of the biggest cricketing carnivals is about to happen at the Eden Gardens in the second encounter of a doubleheader day in the IPL on April 23 Sunday. It's Kolkata Knight Riders versus Chennai Super Kings and expect the crowd in Kolkata to be divided. It will be an amalgam of yellow and purple as World Cup winning skipper MS Dhoni steps into the field. Team Preview (KKR): The Knight Riders started the season with a loss against Punjab Kings where dls method played a part. They bounced back by steamrolling RCB and GT in their next assignment. Right after they were swept away by the opponents in three consecutive matches. The Nitish Rana-led side lost a few close encounters and finds them in the eighth position in the league table winning just two out of the six matches they participated in. Head to Head: Total Matches: 27 Won by CSK: 17 Won by KKR: 9 Abandoned match: 1. KKR management have been changing their openers constantly which has been a major problem. They have used Venkatesh Iyer Litton Das Mandeep Singh Narayan Jagadeesan Jason Roy and Rahmanullah Gurbaz as openers in a space of just six matches. It will be interesting to see with whom they stick for the upcoming encounter. In addition the pacers haven't worked well for the Kolkata-based franchise and leaked runs. They used Kulwant Khejroliya in the previous game who leaked runs as well. Can we see the Himachal Pradesh-based Vaibhav Arora get a chance? Time will tell. Team Preview (CSK): The Yellow Army are doing a fascinating job despite the plethora of injured players in their squad. After losing the season opener against the Gujarat Titans the bounced back against Lucknow Super Giants. Right after they won the high-octane battle against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians. The MS Dhoni-led unit withstood their second loss against Rajasthan Royals and then turned the tables by winning back-to-back matches. Currently CSK is positioned third in the points table equalizing the tally alongside Gujarat Titans Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants. They have eight points from six matches. The Chennai-based franchise has revived from the drought of pace bowlers after Tushar Deshpande and Akash Singh stepped up and took responsibility. The addition of Matheesha Pathirana has bolstered the slog over bowling for them. When it comes to batting Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad have piled up most of the runs but it's worth noting that Ajinkya Rahane has been a good fit at no. 3 for them. Shivam Dube stormed against RCB while Jadeja gave dividends with the ball in hand against SRH and RR. The bad news for them is Ben Stokes will be out of action for at least a week from now. What to expect: Eden Gardens has produced two high-scoring contests. Even as the teams batting first have won both the encounters at the venue dew did play a part in the second innings. However seamers do get some assistance early on in the second innings and they have been able to rattle the top orders on both occasions. But if the chasing team is able to brace through that period of play they could be at an advantage. A cloudy day in late April isn't all that bad for Kolkata. But if not literally at least poetically the Nitish Rana-led side would hope for some sun and shine as they return to their home ground at the back of a three-match losing streak. IPL 2023 Match 29 Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Live This Match Will be Played at MA Chidambaram Stadium Chennai on 21st April 2023 This Match Will Start at 7.30pm From Indian Standard time. The atmosphere is expected to be electric as it always is when CSK take the field and with a talented team like Sunrisers Hyderabad looking to get better of home side we can expect a cracking contest. The MSD-led Chennai Super Kings have won three out of their five games so far and are playing well as a unit. They have a strong batting line-up and both of their openers have played some sparkling knocks with middle-order chipping in with valuable contributions too. However the most pleasing aspect for Dhoni and CSK fans would be the way their young bowling attack is improving with each passing game and we can expect CSK to put another strong performance on their home turf. Sunrisers Hyderabad on the other hand are a quality unit. They have some of the most talented young batters like Harry Brook Rahul Tripathi Aiden Markram in their ranks and have good depth in the bowling department too. However they can be put under pressure against quality spin attack and that is exactly what they need to aware of against CSK at Chepauk. They crumbled in a run-chase against MI in the last game and need to show much more application against MSD and company. Can they spoil CSK's party at Chepauk? Head-to-Head - Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad have faced each other 19 times in IPL before and CSK have a clear advantage over Orange Army with 14 wins. SRH have won only 5 games and would be looking to improve their record this season. What to expect: We have seen plenty of runs in the two games so far at this venue. However the surface used for the RR fixture did take some turn. Chennai Super Kings Team Watch: 24 hours ahead of the game Ben Stokes kept the groundmen on their toes by absolutely smashing it in the nets. He looks ready. But who can he potentially replace now? Devon Conway has been amongst the runs. CSK certainly need Matheesha Pathirana and Maheesh Theekshana. If the wicket is indeed quite flat Moeen Ali might make way. Else CSK could stick with the same combination. Chennai Super Kings Tactics & Matchups: CSK know how dangerous Harry Brook can be. But he has also struggled to score against spin in his maiden IPL season so far. A matchup against Theekshana in the powerplay could work in CSK's favour in order to remove the threat early. Sunrisers Hyderabad Team Watch: The surface might prompt a change or two. The Rajasthan Royals spin trio delivered at this venue in the last game. That might force SRH to go back to Adil Rashid or Akeal Hosein in place of Marco Jansen. Sunrisers Hyderabad Tactics & Matchups: Bhuvneshwar's powers may seem to be on the wane but he has a pretty good record against most of the CSK batters except for Dhoni. Washington's economy rate of 6.33 against left-handers over the last four years will favour the visitors as well against a left-heavy batting lineup. Did you know: - SRH's South African duo of Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen average close to 40 with a strike rate over 140 in T20 cricket since 2022 - Ajinkya Rahane's powerplay strike rate of 222.22 is the best among all batters in this year's IPL (minimum 50 runs) Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content. Delhi Capitals will have to open their account and gather some points. One of the unique things about this week of the Indian Premier League is that we're gonna have three doubleheader days. Yes April 19 Thursday is going to stage two intense battles. The second game of the day will see Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals go one on one against each other at the Arun Jaitley Stadium New Delhi. Team Preview (Delhi Capitals): The GMR-co-owned franchise are having a tough time in the competition. They have played five matches so far and have lost all of them. With no points at all they are reeling at the bottom of the points table. They have mixed their overseas players and failed to give a consistent run to players such as Rovman Powell and Rilee Rossouw. Prithvi Shaw has been a total failure at the top of the order while the middle order has been fragile as well. From the batting point of view David Warner has been the one-man army with some support from Axar Patel and Manish Pandey. When it comes to the bowling department Anrich Nortje has been superb with support from Kuldeep Yadav. Mustafizur Rahman has bowled a few excellent deliveries but at times has gone for runs as well. The spin department isn't that an issue with Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav doing a good job. Team Preview (Kolkata Knight Riders): The Shahrukh Khan-co-owned community has been one of the most entertaining teams of the season so far. The side have found different match-winners on each match. Venkatesh Iyer notched up a tremendous century in the last game and became the second centurion for KKR in IPL. Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh have played some gem of an innings this season. Rahmanullah Gurbaz Andre Russell and Narayan Jagadeesan are due of a good knock. The bowling hasn't been very good from KKR and it has cost them close games. Earlier Tim Southee and now Lockie Ferguson both the Kiwis have been taken to the cleaners by the opposition. The spin trio of Sunil Narine Varun Chakravarthy and Suyash Sharma have been the positive for the side. Currently they have 4 points in 5 matches and are have lost their last two matches. Head to head: In 31 matches between the two teams Delhi Capitals have won 14 Kolkata Knight Riders have won 16 - with one game ending in a no-result. Delhi Capitals Tactics & Match-ups: David Warner has 228 runs this season but it has come at a strike rate of just 116.92. But this could be a fixture where he can look to give that rather unflattering statistic a jump as he strikes at 144.62 against Umesh Yadav at 153.04 against Sunil Narine and at 218.18 against Andre Russell. Umesh however has dismissed him five times in 65 balls. Kolkata Knight Riders Tactics & Match-ups: Suyash Sharma will be licking his lips to bowl at a venue where two opposition wrist spinners - Rashid Khan and Piyush Chawla - have dismantled Delhi Capitals' batting order to set their sides up for wins at this venue. Additionally Umesh KKR's Powerplay option matches up well against Prithvi Shaw having dismissed him twice in 16 balls. What to expect: A chaser's delight as the venue has traditionally been. The surfaces in the two games at the venue have been a bit sticky and had something for the bowlers but eased out as the game progressed. In both those games DC batter first struggled posted par totals (163 and 172) and failed to defend them. Warner will hope the change in fortunes for his team begins at the flip of the coin. But prior to this jampacked action we need to go through the build-up phase. Match 26 of the ongoing league will see Rajasthan Royals rub shoulders with Lucknow Super Giants at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium Jaipur. This will be the first match of the season in Jaipur. Team Preview (Lucknow Super Giants): The Lucknow-based franchise finds themselves in the second position in the points table. They have won three out of five matches and have gathered six points so far. They started the season with a sweet victory against the Delhi Capitals and lost their next encounter against Chennai Super Kings. They have had a topsy-turvy time so far in the competition and will look to bounce back from the defeat in their latest game against Punjab Kings. Kyle Mayers seemed in good touch in the last encounter despite the lost flair for a sudden period of time. They've found different match-winners from varied players which includes Nicholas Pooran Marcus Stoinis Krunal Pandya KL Rahul Mark Wood etc. Team Preview (Rajasthan Royals): With eight points in the bucket Rajasthan Royals have managed to win four out of five matches. After comprehensively steamrolling Sunrisers Hyderabad in their season opener the Sanju Samson-led unit withstood a defeat against the Punjab Kings. Right after they bounced back and outwitted their opposition for three successive games. They defeated Delhi Capitals Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans to push themselves to the top of the charts. Barring the last game Jos Buttler has been consistent at the top of the order. The other opener- Yashasvi Jaiswal has blown hot and cold for them. Sanju Samson tailored a vital half-century in their latest game against the defending champions while Shimron Hetmyer had the upper hand in storming through the chase at the Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad. The spin trio of Adam Zampa Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal has been an indomitable force and it only gets bolstered with the addition of Trent Boult. Head-to-Head: Rajasthan Royals have won both the encounters they've had with Lucknow Super Giants till now in the history of IPL. This is a clash of the table toppers (as of match 24) and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top. Both sides have a good number of match winners and will be looking to pocket some important points. What to expect: Red and pink everywhere in Jaipur except on the square in the middle. There are eight black-soil pitches at the venue and the three of them in the center have been prepared for this IPL season. The match will be played on pitch 4 which on a closer look looked dry underneath and a layer of grass has been left to keep the surface together. The only T20I played here threw up middling totals in the 160s and it got harder and harder to bat as the match progressed. R Ashwin had observed how the ball spun more the slower he bowled. There has been consistent dew in the evenings here and the curator expects more of the same during the match too. The ground one of the smallest capacity cricket stadiums in India sports a rather big playing area with roughly 70m boundaries all around. Chahal pointed out how he was looking to bowl here as a spinner. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content. It is Royal Challengers Bangalore going up against Chennai Super Kings in the Southern Derby and we have two of the biggest stars in Indian cricket MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli also up against each other in what is expected to be a mouth-watering contest. The battlefield will be M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and expect a six-hitting spectacle between two quality teams. Royal Challengers Bangalore have won two out of their four games with both wins coming at home and expect them to give their all to get the better of CSK at home. Virat Kohli has smashed three fifties in the season so far and Faf du Plessis along with Glenn Maxwell are also in good touch. The middle order though remains a concern and they need to get that aspect of their game right. Also their bowling has been good in the Powerplay but death bowling still needs improvement. Let's see how they go about their business. MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings have also won two out of their four games. They have played some quality cricket and have lot of depth in the batting line-up. They do have injury concerns though but they have been able to deal with those setbacks quite well so far. A lot depends on their in-form opening pair of Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad and they would have a key role to play in a high-scoring venue like Chinnaswamy. Their young bowlers are improving too with each passing game and overall we are in for a cracking contest. Royal Challengers Bangalore RCB's Indian middle-order that is missing Rajat Patidar have managed a best score of 26 (Lomror) in the four games so far and that adds to the pressure on their 'Big 3' and also forced them into a panic Impact Substitute move in the last game of getting Anuj Rawat in when they would have otherwise beefed up their bowling ahead of a target defence. Thankfully for them however even with that change they have enough of a bowling depth to go around. Tactics & Matchups: RCB have been the best bowling side (CSK are the worst) in the Powerplays this season with Mohammed Siraj in particular conceding at just 4.7RPO and taking three wickets across 10 Powerplay overs. He has never dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad over 36 balls in the IPL but with both men in equally good form the winner of their battle could set up how the rest of the game develops. Chennai Super Kings CSK will have at least one enforced change from their last game with Sisanda Magala out with a split webbing. Both Dwaine Pretorius and Matheesha Pathirana bowled in the nets on the eve of the game with the latter having just recovered from a bout of Covid. Even historically this has been a strong point of Dhoni's team in these clashes. Tactics & Matchups: Ravindra Jadeja will be a big match-up factor against both Kohli and Maxwell. Jadeja has dismissed the latter six times in 40 balls in the IPL. He has dismissed Kohli thrice and conceded at only 106.87 to the former RCB captain. In fact the game could be decided in the middle overs. CSK have the best record here in IPL 2023 their spinners having taken 12 wickets while going at just 6.85 in this phase. What to expect: It's a night game and therefore the result of the RCB-DC game here from two days ago shouldn't have much bearing. More so considering the game will be played on a new surface on the right edge of the square. Toss-winning captain will continue to back his side to chase down any total here. Head-to-Head: There have been total of 31 matches between RCB and CSK. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content.
