The ball did stop a bit in the deck on the odd occasion but with the dew taking effect the batting side will feel confident. Can Hardik Pandya and his men spring up a surprise and defend this total? Or will Rajasthan gun it down without a fuss? Rajasthan will be a tad bit disappointed with that bowling effort as there were occasions in the first innings that they had Gujarat on the back foot but simply couldn't capitalize. Trent Boult got an early wicket but was pretty expensive. The spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal picked up just a single wicket in between them and went for a bit of runs as well. Adam Zampa though bowled really well and picked up a wicket. The pick of the bowlers once again was Sandeep Sharma who was riding high on confidence from the last game and bowled valiantly at the death picking up a couple of wickets as well. Rajasthan will feel that their batters will be able to chase this one down. Gujarat were pegged back early as Wriddhiman Saha fell in the very first over. Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill looked to be forming a gritty stand but the former was run out and Gujarat looked in trouble. The skipper then walked in and played flamboyantly and Gill too found his groove. Pandya fell looking to keep up the ante and Gill too couldn't stay on for much longer. It was then some big hitting from Abhinav Manohar and David Miller in the death overs that really fired Gujarat to a total that they will feel is a good one. A flurry of big hits toward the end from the likes of David Miller and Abhinav Manohar has seen Gujarat post a solid total of 177 runs. It was a topsy-turvy first inning but going into the break Rajasthan will be the slightly happier of the two sides. That will ease the nerves a bit. Fullish length on the pads Devdutt Padikkal stays back and clips it aerially over the mid-wicket region to pick up a boundary the first of the run chase. Since joining GT in the IPL Hardik Pandya has had a strike rate of 190+ thrice in an innings in the first balls and two of those have come against RR- 21* off 10 (210) vs RR (2022) 19* off 10 (190) vs LSG (2022) & 19* off 10 (190) vs RR (today). Excellent delivery from Hardik Pandya and it is backed up really well by Shubman Gill in the field. Just short of a good length and very close to the off stump with the natural angle taking it away. Yashasvi Jaiswal gets cramped for room and ends up poking at it off the back foot. The ball takes the outside edge and goes to the left now first slip where Shubman Gill takes a sharp stop. Pandya is absolutely delighted. Ends with a boundary! Served on a Shortish length outside off and shaping away Sanju Samson stands tall and caresses it just behind the man at point for a lovely boundary. The dot-ball pressure does the trick and Jos Buttler departs playing an unnecessary shot here. Mohammad Shami keeps it on a good length and bowls it around off stump. Buttler shuffles right across the off stump and attempts the scoop. The ball angles in off the deck and beats the bat before knocking the off stump right off the ground. Buttler departs for a duck and Rajasthan are in early trouble here. Picked up and dispatched! Good length angled onto the pads Devdutt Padikkal flicks it effortlessly and over the backward square leg fence for a biggie. Bowled from over the wicket and pitched up around the fifth stump line. Devdutt Padikkal frees his arms and swings through the line before lofting it well over the wide long off fence for a biggie. The iconic Eden Gardens Kolkata is all set to host the feast between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Both teams are coming off a victory and will look to continue the winning momentum going. Head-to-Head (KKR vs SRH): In the 23 matches played between the two sides KKR are miles ahead of their counterparts winning 15 of them. Team Preview (Sunrisers Hyderabad): After being unable to find a win in the first two matches SRH bounced back strongly to submerge the high-flying Punjab Kings in what was a relatively one-sided contest if you take away Shikhar Dhawan's masterclass 99 not out. While the swing bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Marco Jansen set up the match very nicely by dismantling the PBKS top order the leggie Mayank Agarwal decimated the middle and lower order to push PBKS to a suicidal batting performance amidst Dhawan's fightback. It was another failure for the expensive buy Harry Brook and so with the Bengaluru-born Mayank Agarwal who is yet to perform to his potential. But Rahul Tripathi made sure that there were no further hiccups in the run chase with an unbeaten half-century alongside his skipper Aiden Markram who played a brisk innings to get their first points of the season. There are a few players like Glenn Phillips and Akeal Hosein in the waiting room if SRH management needs some changes in the line-up with Brook failing all ends up. One more notable mention is that Washington Sundar hasn't been at his best this edition so far and he can be assured of his place since he has been a consistent servant of the game in the past. Overall the Orange Army will be steaming in to keep the winning momentum going with all members of the squad looking like match winners in their own rights. Team Preview (Kolkata Knight Riders): Rinku Singh has become a household name after his unbelievable finishing against Gujarat Titans to lift his side to victory from the jaws of defeat smashing Yash Dayal for five sixes in the final five deliveries needing 28 to win. KKR will definitely be overwhelmed after this victory and will be high on confidence moving further in the competition. The Kolkata-based franchise has played three matches so far and has won the last two encounters. While they bombarded RCB in Bengaluru the Nitish Rana-led side somehow managed to cross the victory line against GT in the previous match to create an unbeaten streak of two games after losing a close game against PBKS. Andre Russell has failed to stay long enough on the pitch which is the biggest headache of the franchise. While Narayan Jagadeesan who replaced the ineffective Mandeep Singh in the XI couldn't perform to his potential Rahmanullah Gurbaz Venkatesh Iyer and Rinku Singh have been the batting wonders. At the same time the skipper Rana hasn't been standout with the bat. KKR's pace bowlers have yet to hit the IPL going but their spinners in Suyash Sharma Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy have been impressive. Litton Das has joined the squad and will be available for selection but whether the team management is going to tinker with the winning XI is a thing to watch out for. What to expect: The one game in Kolkata so far was all about RCB's capitulation against spin. However the surface is perhaps the best-suited one for pace in the country particularly in the first half and even the spinners have been known to hurry the batsmen. Expect a high-scoring encounter barring a googly-collapse like last time. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content. IPL 2023 Match 18 Punjab Kings vs Gujarat Titans Live Scores This Match Will be Played at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium Mohali on 13th April 2023 This Match Will Start at 7.30pm From Indian Standard time. They will want their top-order batters to set a nice platform and put them in a position from where their finishers can take over. Punjab still need to believe that they are in this game and they have a fighting total on the board. They will need to come out with positive intent and look for wickets early to set the tone for their game. Will they be able to pull off a remarkable defense? Or will this be a walk in the park for the reigning champions? Punjab got off to the worst possible start losing Prabhsimran Singh on the second delivery of the inning off the bowling of Mohammad Shami and Joshua Little dismissed Punjab's inform skipper Shikhar Dhawan inside the Powerplay. Matthew Short played a good counter-attacking cameo scoring 36 runs in 24 balls but was dismissed by a magical delivery from the magician Rashid Khan. Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Jitesh Sharma looked to rebuild the innings but lowered the scoring rate in the process and could not convert their starts. Sam Curran and Shahrukh Khan also added 20-run scores but in the end they ill feel they are well short of a commanding total. This has been a struggle for Punjab as they were never able to get any sort of momentum but a late charge has helped them cross the 150-run mark. A score of 153 should be under-par on a good batting surface and Gujarat will be silently confident of overcoming this target. This has been an outstanding bowling performance by the reigning champions as all the bowlers contributed with wickets. Mohit Sharma was by far the pick of the bowlers on his debut taking 2 wickets for 18 runs in his four overs while the other four chipped in with one each. They were good in the field as well as they kept it really tight and never allowed the opposition to get away with the scoring rate. What a sublime way to get off the mark! Fuller and outside off shaping away this time Shubman Gill plants his front foot forward and just caresses it in between mid off and extra cover for a boundary. That is a shot and a half! A touch fuller and around off stumps at 145.4 clicks Wriddhiman Saha punches it on the up and the ball speeds through wide mid off for a boundary. In this IPL Arshdeep Singh has leaked runs at an economy of 10.9 when he has bowled full in the powerplay (26.2%). However as he pulls his length back the economy is better. Excellent timing and Gujarat are flying now! Good length on the pads and at 146.3 clicks Shubman Gill gets his hands in front of his pads and gently pushes it in front of mid-wicket for a boundary. Fuller in length and outside off take pace off as well. Wriddhiman Saha goes through with the drive and pierces the gap at extra cover to find the fence yet again. Just over! Arshdeep Singh comes from around the wicket and angles in another fuller delivery into middle and leg. Wriddhiman Saha plays a checked-drive and gets it just over Sam Curran at mid on. The ball speeds away into the fence. A bit streaky but that will be the third boundary of the over and there are still two deliveries left. Another bumper from around the wicket and over the stumps. Wriddhiman Saha tries to take it on but gets a top edge that flies one-bounce over the fine leg fence for a boundary. Wriddhiman Saha is simply toying with the field now and 18 runs off the over already! Full and wide Saha reaches out and squeezes it in between short third man and backward point for a boundary. Mohammad Shami was excellent too and ended with 3 for 41. But it was Alzarri Joseph who bowled a fiery spell in the middle overs and took the big wickets of David Warner and Rilee Rossouw to put Gujarat on top of things. Gujarat will be pleased with their bowling effort and will now look to start strong with the bat. Some fine hitting from Axar Patel at the end has got Delhi to 162 for 8 in their 20 overs. Having put into bat first Delhi got off to a scratchy start. Prithvi Shaw and Mitchell Marsh failed to impress once again. Delhi were two down inside the first five overs. David Warner and Sarfaraz Khan steadied the innings for a while but Gujarat came roaring back and reduced Delhi to 67 for 4. Some handy runs from debutant Abishek Porel and Sarfaraz and a quickfire 22-ball-36 from Axar Patel have taken Delhi over 160. Nicely timed and Wriddhiman Saha is up and running here! Good length again but he offers a bit of width. Saha goes on the back foot and caresses it through cover-point for a boundary. Up and over! Pitches this one up around off Wriddhiman Saha just lofts it back over the bowler's head and clears mid off. The ball rolls away into the fence. Swung away and Wriddhiman Saha has taken a liking to the Impact Player here. Just short of a length over leg stump Saha stands tall and whips it away over the mid-wicket fence for a maximum. 14 off the first over of the chase a good one for Gujarat. Put away first ball! Starts off with a short and wide one Shubman Gill stays on the back foot and just taps it away in front of point to get off the mark with a boundary. Wow what timing! Back of a length around off Shubman Gill stands tall and just punches it on the up. The ball races away through the cover region for a boundary. An attempted Yorker at 147.9 clicks on middle. Shubman Gill bunts the low full toss toward mid on and scampers through for a quick run. In the air but hit crisply! Fullish length outside off Sai Sudharsan plants the front foot forward and drives it firmly through cover-point for a boundary. TIMBER! Anrich Nortje strikes first ball and the Delhi crowd goes wild! Top delivery from Nortje as he begins with a good-length ball on off stump. This is bowled at 143.5 clicks and jags back in sharply off the deck. Wriddhiman Saha looks to hang back and defend but the ball zips through bat and pad to knock over the top of middle stump. Nortje is all pumped up and Delhi have an early breakthrough here. KNOCKS HIM OVER! Anrich Nortje gets rid of the dangerman and Delhi are right back in it. Nortje bowls this from a bit wider of the crease and on a hard length around off stump. This is served at 148.8 clicks and the ball just skids on after hitting the deck. Shubman Gill is caught on the back foot and before he tries to get a bat on it he gets cut in half. The ball destroys the stumps behind Gill and Nortje picks up his second wicket. Cheeky but brilliant from Sai Sudharsan! Anrich Nortje comes from around the wicket and bowls it full and at the stumps at over 144 clicks. Sudharsan simply shuffles across and scoops it back over the keeper's head and over the ropes for a maximum. Slower one from Anrich Nortje full and outside off. Hardik Pandya picks it up and creams the cover drive through the gap for a boundary. Lovely shot from Sai Sudharsan and the 50 is up for Gujarat. Khaleel Ahmed serves it full and around off stump Sudharsan whips it away in between mid on and mid-wicket for a boundary. Gujarat Titans lead the tally 2-0. Gujarat Titans (Team Preview): The defending champions will be led by Hardik Pandya once again. In their maiden IPL season they ended up winning the title. The Titans fetched some renowned names such as Kane Williamson KS Bharat Mohit Sharma Odean Smith Shivam Mavi etc. As of now there haven't been any injury updates from this camp. But David Miller is supposed to miss the initial few matches due to the Netherlands ODI series. It is a very pivotal competition for them as the World Cup qualification scenario hangs on the cliff. When it comes to the team combination Wriddhiman Saha is likely to open the innings with Shubman Gill. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson is the frontrunner for the third position. Other than him they have options like B Sai Sudarshan KS Bharat and Vijay Shankar who could play a vital role in the middle order. When it comes to the bowling department Mohammed Shami is likely to spearhead💪🏼 the attack. Alongside him Shivam Mavi and Alzarri Joseph are likely to play a key part. The management will also have the flexibility to use Pradeep Sangwan Mohit Sharma or Joshua Little if the need arises. Chennai Super Kings (Team Preview): The four-time champions had a poor season last year finishing in the penultimate position. Previously MS Dhoni cleared the air by stating that he would play his last game at the Chepauk. Indirectly this proved that he would be up for at least one more season (2023) with the Yellow army. Talk about the history of the franchise CSK has made the playoffs 11 times which is the most by any franchise. They won titles in 2010 2011 2018 and 2021. Ahead of the 16th season they have suffered a blow as left-arm pacer Mukesh Chaudhary is doubtful for the first half of the season. He is rehabilitating from a back injury🤕 and is currently at the NCA. In addition the Sri Lankan duo of Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana are going to miss the initial few matches due to national duties against New Zealand. They replaced Proteas bowler Sisanda Magala with the injured Kyle Jamieson. When it comes to the playing combination Ruturaj Gaikwad is likely to open with Devon Conway. Ben Stokes is supposed to play as a specialized batter as the English red ball skipper would be serving his knee injury. Moeen Ali and one of Mitchell Santner or Dwaine Pretorius are likely to feature in the first XI. Deepak Chahar is all set to lead the bowling attack while Ambati Rayudu Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni are likely to comprise the Indian core in the batting. You could be counting days but might not have realized how rapidly time flew by. It feels like just a few months when Gujarat Titans clinched their maiden title🏆 in their first appearance of the IPL. Since then the train went passed stations named Asia Cup T20 World Cup and Border Gavaskar Trophy. Now we're heading to the destination termed 'Indian Premier League'. A glittering platform where raw talent meets international exposure. A place where valor meets creativity. A foundation with heaps of expectations and ready to filter the best of all. So who'll be the last man standing? We need to wait eight more weeks. Until then let's feel the thrill. Gujarat Titans are all set to welcome Chennai Super Kings for match no.1 of the glamorous league at the Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad. This will be the first match for both teams. India vs Australia 3rd ODI Live This Match Will be Played at MA Chidambaram Stadium Chennai on 22nd March 2023 This Match Will Start at 1.30pm From Indian Standard time. With the series levelled at one-all the decider promises to be a nail-biter. After securing a five-wicket victory in the first ODI in Mumbai India suffered a crushing ten-wicket defeat in Visakhapatnam. Although the outcomes of both matches were exactly the opposite the Indian team had a common and familiar nemesis a top-order collapse. And guess who the wrecker-in-chief for Australia was? It was none other than Mitchell Starc who ripped the hosts apart through his incredible skills with the new ball. Also the Indian bowlers were no match to their counterparts in the second game as the Australian openers took only eleven overs to chase the meagre target of 118 runs. Mitchell Marsh took on the hosts' bowling unit once again slamming his second consecutive fifty of the series. So moving on to this game India must find solutions to their problems with special emphasis on countering Starc and Marsh. Despite being drubbed in Mumbai Australia bounced back in style decimating the hosts by ten wickets to stay alive in the series. While Mitchell Starc has breathed fire to torment the Indian top order Mitchell Marsh has come out with all guns blazing with the bat to keep the Indians at bay. Furthermore Sean Abbott and Nathan Ellis also had a terrific time with the ball and would like to sustain their prolific run in the series. However the focus will be on Steve Smith Glenn Maxwell and Marnus Labuschagne who recorded failures in Mumbai and will therefore look to conclude the tour on a high note. Stats: - Steve Smith is 51 runs away from 5000 ODI runs. He is also one century short of equalling Ricky Ponting for most ODI 100s against India for Australia. - Virat Kohli has had extreme fortune at Chepauk. In seven ODI innings there he has two fifties one hundred and four single-digit scores. Team news India: If the team management have workload concerns with a WTC final coming up Umran Malik could be in for Mohammed Shami. Malik spent a considerable amount of time bowling on Tuesday. Washington Sundar offers variety in finger spin and is a local but the decision to bring him in for another finger spinner will not be straightforward. Team news Australia: Nathan Ellis did not have a clue on Warner's fitness update at the pre-match press conference but the opening batter spent around half an hour taking throwdowns from the support staff in scorching heat. He didn't look in too much discomfort and even practiced running between the wickets. To accommodate him though Australia will have to put one of their all-rounders on the bench. What to expect: Rahul Dravid called the wheat brown strip in Chennai a 'good wicket' on the eve of the game which can be code for a batting belter. After a tough Mumbai surface and a poor batting performance in Vizag the series is perhaps due a big-scoring finale. A hot sweltering day is in the offing with a slight chance of rain but nothing heavy enough to disrupt the game. Pitch Report: When the pitches were uncovered and unattended to it used to help the fast bowlers. However since India started playing the spin quartet of Bishan Singh Bedi BS Chandrasekar S Venkatraghavan and EAS Prasanna the wickets were made spin-friendly. Among the top 10 wicket-takers at the ground nine of them are spinners and the only fast bowler on the list is Kapil Dev. Anil Kumble sits on top of the list with 48 wickets followed closely by Harbhajan Singh - 42 wickets. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content. Though there was not a single fifty-plus score from the batting side they managed to cross the 250-run mark. Earlier in the match Australia won the toss and opted to bat first. Again Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head gave the team a head start adding 68 runs for the first wicket. The dark memories of Vizag was looming around Team India when these two were going all guns blazing. But Hardik Pandya’s fiery spell turned things around for them as he dismissed Head (33 off 31) Steven Smith (0 off 3) and Marsh (47 off 47) in the span of 28 balls to reduce the visitors to 85/3. Then David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne tried to rebuild the innings with a 40-run stand for the fourth wicket. In trying to take on Kuldeep Yadav both Warner (23 off 31) and Labuschagne (28 off 45) were holed out in the deep. At 138/5 Australia were again under pressure and it was the partnership between Alex Carey and Marcus Stoinis worth 58 runs for the sixth wicket and took the team closer to the 200-run mark. The Men in Yellow were under deep waters once again when both Stoinis and Carey went back to the pavilion. While Stoinis (25 off 26) was taken care of by Axar Patel Carey (38 off 46) was undone by a ripper of a delivery from Kuldeep. The lower-order batters Sean Abbott and Ashton Agar added an useful 42-run partnership for the 8th wicket to take the team closer to 250. Axar broke this stand by clattering the stumps of Abbott (26 off 23). Three balls later Mohammed Siraj removed Agar (17 off 21) to push Australia on the verge of an all-out. Mitchell Starc (10 off 11) and Adam Zampa (10* off 11) didn't throw their wickets away stitching 22 runs for the last wicket. Siraj did the job for India in the last ball of the 49th over to put an end to the Australian innings and celebrate his 100th international wicket. From the bowling point of view Hardik Pandya was the successful bowler with the figures of 8-0-44-3. He was well supported by Kuldeep Yadav who also scalped three wickets but went for 56 runs in his full quota. Axar Patel and Mohammed Siraj picked a couple of wickets as well. Can India chase it down and win the series or will Australia defend this and take the series home? Kuldeep Yadav: "Thank You sir. Very simple. The wicket is slow. So bowled with pace and kept it tight with variations. Yes those were great wickets and The Carey wicket I enjoyed the most. No I am just working on it. Bowl wicket to wicket and then you can get caught behind and the top edge can get you wickets. I bowled with a lot of seam up balls. Yes the way they started I thought 300 was coming. But Hardik bowled well and we kept them down to 269. But I feel we have to bat well and not lose wickets to chase this down. This won't be easy for sure. But I back our batters to get the job done." It's a must-win game for Australia as a loss here will lead them to a series defeat. Meanwhile India will aim at securing another win and claiming the series. India had a clinical outing in the first ODI in Mumbai crushing the visitors by five wickets. Riding on a sensational bowling performance especially from Mohammed Shami the hosts restricted their counterparts to a paltry 188 and later chased the total courtesy of a match-winning 108-run stand between KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja. But the struggle of their top-order against the moving ball was evident as Shubman Gill Ishan Kishan Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav departed for low scores. However the Men in Blue will back themselves to turn things around in the second game as their batting lineup will get a massive boost with regular skipper Rohit Sharma rejoining the squad. On the contrary Australia had a forgettable game in Mumbai and will be desperate to restore parity by winning this match. Although most of their batters got out cheaply Mitchell Marsh passed the Indian challenge with flying colours amassing an aggressive 65-ball 81 including ten fours and five humongous sixes. So moving on to this fixture the Australian think tank would like better returns from their key batters- Travis Head Steve Smith Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis. Meanwhile their bowling unit led by Mitchell Starc received accolades as they made a match out of such a sub-par total. However despite reducing India to 39 for four the visitors allowed Rahul and Jadeja to consolidate something they should rectify in this do-or-die game. So can Australia stay alive in the series? Team news India: With only a day between the games India had no scheduled practice session on the eve of the game. Rohit Sharma is expected to lead the side after missing the first ODI due to personal commitments. India could rest Mohammed Shami who had a long bowl in the fourth Test and bowled full tilt in the first ODI. Team news Australia: Alex Carey missed the first ODI due to illness but is expected to be back for this one. David Warner who was sidelined with concussion and hairline fracture of the elbow is also likely to return and which middle order batter he could squeeze out is anybody's guess. There's certainly pressure on Marnus Lanuschagne to deliver; the batter has averaged a shade over 33 in his 21 innings at No.4 a batting position Australia are keen to get right. What to expect: Scattered thunderstorms are forecast in the afternoon so a rain-curtailed game cannot be ruled out. The pitches here have tended to be very good for shot making and India amassed 387/5 against the West Indies here in 2019. Five out the eight men's ODIs here have ended in favour of the chasing side with one match tied. Pitch Conditions: Historically it is known for producing belters where batsmen can play through the line on even-paced wickets. However in recent times spinners have made their mark. It can be exemplified by some low-scoring games in the 2013-14 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content.
