Lee leads late rally to send Nebraska past Purdue 25-24. WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Tanner Lee threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Stanley Morgan Jr. with 14 seconds left Saturday night to rally Nebraska for a season-saving 25-24 victory at Purdue. Lee capped the best night of his career with two TD passes in the final 11½ minutes to erase a 12-point deficit. The win snapped a two-game losing streak — just barely.
Stanford RB Bryce Love wont play against Oregon State. CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Stanford running back and Heisman Trophy hopeful Bryce Love won't play against Oregon State on Thursday night. Love, the nation's top running back with an average of 198.1 yards rushing per game, tweaked an ankle against Oregon on Oct. 14. The No. 20 Cardinal announced that Love would sit out about 90 minutes before game time in Corvallis. A midseason AP All-American, Love has run for 1,387 total yards this season and is averaging 10.27 yards per carry — both also national bests.
Thunders Paul George prepares to face former team. OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Just four games into the season, Paul George has to face the team he just left under less than ideal circumstances. During the offseason, George's camp let it be known he planned to become a free agent after next season. The disappointed Pacers opted to trade the face of their franchise to Oklahoma City rather than play a season with a star they had no long-term future with and perhaps get nothing in return. With the Pacers, George was a four-time All-Star and helped Indiana reach the Eastern Conference Finals twice. The Thunder host the Pacers on Wednesday night.
Cozart accounts for 3 TDs, Boise State beats Wyoming 24-14. BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Montell Cozart rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another to help Boise State beat Wyoming 24-14 Saturday night. After pulling an upset last week on the road against San Diego State, the Broncos (5-2, 3-0 Mountain West) appeared flat early, mustering only 118 yards in the first half — just 29 of that through the air. Trailing 7-3 to start the second half, the Broncos cobbled together an 18-play, 71-yard drive that consumed 9:46 and ended on a 4-yard touchdown run by Cozart.
Saint Juste, Hawaii beat San Jose State, snap 4-game skid. HONOLULU (AP) — Diocemy Saint Juste had school-record 39 carries for 202 yards and two touchdowns to help Hawaii snap a four-game skid and beat San Jose State 37-26 Saturday night. Dru Brown threw for 173 yards and a score and his backup, Cole McDonald, threw his first career touchdown pass, for Hawaii (2-4, 1-3 Mountain West). Saint Juste came in needed 108 rushing yards to become the first Hawaii player to eclipse the 1,000-yard plateau in back-to-back seasons and is one of two players (Wisconsin's Jonathan Taylor) in the nation with three 200-yard games this season. Saint Juste capped a 14-play, 75-yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter and McDonald's 4-yard touchdown pass to Dakota Torres made it 14-10 with 34 seconds left in the half. Bryce Crawford made a 52-yard field goal as time expired and Hawaii went into the break leading 14-13. After Dylan Collie's 22-yard touchdown catch, Montel Aaron hit Rashead Johnson for a 59-yard score to pull the Spartans to 21-20 going into the fourth.
