Now the team plays a 4 game series against the New York Mets starting tonight with Spencer Howard on the hill for the Phils. PHILADELPHIA SIXERS: Sixers WIN 108-101 against the Magic! | Alec Burks SHINES with 22 points!
Sixers get a big win without Ben Simmons against the Magic, winning the game 108-101. Alec Burks, Joel Embiid, Al Horford, and Tobias Harris all scored over 20 points in the win with Tobias and Joel getting double doubles. Even though I think the Sixers could've won this game a little easier, I will take the win. Sixers improve to 3-1 in the bubble and play the Trail Blazers on Sunday. PHILADELPHIA FLYERS: Flyers BEAT the Boston Bruins 4-1! | Carter Hart looked UNSTOPPABLE!
FLYERS WIN! The Flyers beat the Boston Bruins 4-1 in the first game of the round robin for the top 4 seeds in the eastern conference. Michael Raffl, Nate Thompson, Phil Myers, and Scott Laughton all scored in the Flyers win, three goals were scored in the 2nd period alone. The Flyers now play the Washington Capitals later this week, along with the Tampa Bay Lightning. PHILADELPHIA SIXERS: HOW MEANINGFUL IS MATISSE THYBULLE TO THE SIXERS PLAYOFF RUN?!
In today's Sixers video I talk about the importance of rookie Matisse Thybulle. Thybulle has been a very good defensive player all season long getting his hands on loose balls, getting one on one steals, blocks, and then all while doing that he is setting up guys like Ben Simmons and Josh Richardson on the fast break which is a huge part of today's NBA. To me outside of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, Matisse is the most valuable player to have on the court. The reason why I think that is because of his collapsing defense and his ability to strip the ball away from some of the best players in the league like, LeBron James, Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, and Paul George to name a few of the all stars that have giving up the ball against rookie Matisse Thybulle. If Matisse plays the way he has been on the defensive end and gets his shooting touch back and he shoots the way he did in the beginning of the season, the Sixers could seriously be in the running for a sleeper team to win the NBA Finals. News came out today that Ben Simmons, when play resumes if it does this season, will be available to play for the Sixers. Now I do not think that the NBA season will be able to pick up where they left off as much as I would want them to, I just can't see it happening. It is good that Ben is healthy again and can start playing basketball when it does resume. PHILADELPHIA 76ERS GM ELTON BRAND DRAWS INTEREST FROM THE NEW YORK KNICKS!
With the Sixers having very little news in the last couple weeks with the virus going on, I decided to switch up the Eagles talk and talk about some Sixers and Elton Brand. The New York Knicks have expressed interest in current Sixers GM Elton Brand. In my opinion I don't think the Sixers will let the talks continue for much longer and he will be the GM for a long time in this organization. SIXERS LOSE TO THE HAWKS! THE SIXERS DEFENSE WAS AWFUL!
The Sixers fall to the Atlanta Hawks 127-117. Trae Young did exactly what he always does and the Sixers pay for it. The Sixers are now sitting in 6th place in the East at 31-18 on the season. The bright side of this game was Ben Simmons and Shake Milton. Ben has continued to show his aggressive play dropping 31 points 5 assists and 6 rebounds. Shake Milton also put on a career night with 27 points. The Sixers will now travel to Boston to play the Celtics. Ben Simmons was also named to the all star team for the second straight year, him and Embiid will represent the Sixers again in the all star game.
EAGLES BEAT THE REDSKINS 37-27 TO KEEP THE SEASON ALIVE! CARSON DELIVERS ONCE AGAIN!
The Eagles stay alive this season as they beat the Redskins 37-27 in a comeback win led by a Carson Wentz for the second straight week. Wentz has seriously stepped up especially in the clutch. Greg Ward caught the game winning TD with 36 seconds left on the clock. Miles Sanders had a huge game with 2 TDs. Ertz and Goedart were the most reliable receiving players catching 5 passes each. The Eagles now go back home to play the Dallas Cowboys for the division. Eagles vs Cowboys, Dak vs Wentz, it's one of the biggest rivalries in sports and it goes down next week.
