While looking like a lock for All-Defensive team honors, the Time Lord has been averaging career-highs of 10.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game, while also shooting nearly 74 percent from the field. But how does the Time Lord’s injury affect the Boston Celtics’ NBA title chances? Per latest reports, Robert Williams is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after surgery to repair his torn meniscus. As of late, the narrative about Celtics star duo Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown being unable to coexist have been shut down. Both Tatum and Brown have played great during the Celtics’ recent surge. Jayson Tatum has been playing like an MVP candidate. Tatum had just recorded his 4th career 50-point game after dropping 50 points in a win against the Brooklyn Nets. After Dallas traded Kristaps Porzinigs to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans, the team has had a late season surge. Since the Porzingis trade, the Dallas Mavericks are 11-3. Spencer Dinwiddie has hit game-winners in back to back games against the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets out of Luka Doncic’s assists and the Dallas Mavericks are currently tied with the Utah Jazz for the 4th seed in the Western Conference. Dinwiddie and Jalen Brunson have formed a great backcourt combination for Dallas, as the Mavs have outscored opponents by 24 points per 100 possessions with Dinwiddie and Brunson on the floor even if Doncic is out.
