Lonnie Walker 16 Points Full Highlights (4/3/2019)
Lonnie Walker 16 Points Full Highlights (4/3/2019)

We were robbed of Lonnie Walker's rookie year by a meniscus tear he sustained prior to the beginning of the season. Of course Walker's rookie season is still happening; he's played in a few games, so it's not like we were literally robbed like we were with Blake Griffin once upon a time. But we'll never know how good of a rookie season Walker could have put together had he not suffered that injury. In the few games he's played for the Spurs this season, he hasn't been scoring the ball well. I suppose we'll just call a mulligan on this one and wait for next season to be his "rookie" season, when he has the benefit of playing on two 100% intact menisci. Sixteen points is Walker's best game of the season by far. For once, Pop gave him a good chunk of minutes and he didn't squander them (correction: Pop was ejected, so somebody else gave him the minutes). I'm sure the twenty-point lead that the Nuggets held for the entire fourth quarter was helpful in terms of Walker not feeling any pressure to win the game. He just went out there and shot his shots while looking like a grove of wild asparagus just sprouted on his head. I'm not going to go in too hard on Walker's hair because I think it's cool when people have their own personal style and own it. That said, it reminds me of Elfrid Payton's erstwhile glob of disgusting hair, and that's not a favorable comparison. At all. All clips property of the NBA. No copyright infringement is intended. Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot 18 Points Full Highlights (3/30/2019)
Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot 18 Points Full Highlights (3/30/2019)

Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot could totally be mobilizing basketball fans in the Chicago area right now. Just like Giannis gets huge crowds of Greeks at every arena he visits, just like Goran Dragic and Luka Doncic get small cadres of Slovenians, just like Jokic brings out the Serbs everywhere he goes, so too could TLC attract French people to both home games and away games. They could sing French songs, wave the French flag, chant stuff in French (peacefully, of course), and maybe even bring out the baguettes and smelly cheese. The problem is, I don't think French people care about Luwawu-Cabarrot. And why should they? He's been total garbo this season outside of a few games where he was just average. So far, the quality of his play on the Bulls is higher than his play on the Thunder, but that doesn't mean much because he was quite possibly one of the worst players in the league while he was in OKC. French people aren't necessarily all about winning, but they don't support losers either. They probably are still attached to Tony Parker even though that dude is older than the aged French wine that my parents got as a present before I was born and still haven't drunk. If French people have given up on Parker, they've reattached themselves to Rudy Gobert. TLC doesn't get any love because he doesn't deserve any. That's just how it is. Now I'm thinking about how much it would cost to drive down to a Bulls home game and sit courtside with a French flag that I wave every time TLC does something. It would probably cost a lot. But at least then TLC would feel like he has something to play for other than his own contracts. I just would have to hope that no news outlet tries to interview me and I out myself as a fake French person. All clips property of the NBA. No copyright infringement is intended. Derrick Rose 22 Points/6 Assists Full Highlights (2/11/2019)
Derrick Rose 22 Points/6 Assists Full Highlights (2/11/2019)

Derrick Rose has been out for a little bit, which is unfortunate for me because his absence results in a lot of minutes (and therefore, a lot of highlight videos) for a certain bald-headed backup PG whose name rhymes with bare-head payless. But now Rose is back in the lineup and back to his bounceback year which had a few of his old hangers-on clamoring for an All-Star appearance. The minutes part is great! I was getting real tired of that bald former Buck. The "All-Star" part is not so great. In the Western conference, where there are least three major snubs every season due to the concentration of talent in the conference, it would be a straight-up insult to let Derrick Rose into the game over somebody else. That's not something I can get behind, even if Rose is having a great season and all the fans of his Chicago-era glory days are reemerging to bask in his healing light once again. Side note: how do I get my hair to turn into those cool braids that look like they were Celtic-knotted? Do I have to chop all my hair off and start over from the beginning? I don't know anything about hair but I do know that this pale skinny white guy is completely jealous of Rose's braids. All clips property of the NBA. No copyright infringement is intended. Mario Hezonja 19 Points Full Highlights (1/8/2019)
Mario Hezonja 19 Points Full Highlights (1/8/2019)

Nineteen points is Mario "The Croat GOAT" Hezonja's highest-scoring game this season, despite the fact that he scored twenty or more six times last season. Again, this brings up the eternal question: is he getting misused by Fiz, or does hes just suck? As is usual for me, I don't know the answer, but I can pretend to know the answer in order to influence the thinking of gullible YouTube users. It's both. There's no reason for Hezonja to get DNP's like he did for a few games in a row at the end of the calendar year. There are definitely players on the roster who should be prioritized for developmental minutes, but Hezonja is definitely good enough at basketball to deserve playing time. It's not like the roster is stacked with high-talent players who are vacuuming up the minutes. Hezonja is also bad enough at basketball that he's not usually going to go out there and win games by himself, so he doesn't hinder the tanking process that is going on right now in New York. I suppose that Fiz has no incentive to try to develop Hezonja because Hezonja's on a one-year deal and is unlikely to re-sign in New York given how he's been treated up to this point. If Fiz had gone all-in on making Hezonja one of the core members of the Knicks, Hezonja would have wanted to stick around, but that's not what happened. Hezonja will find a different team this off-season (maybe not even in the NBA) and all the minutes that Fiz threw at him will have been for nothing except improved lottery chances. DeMarre Carroll 20 Points Full Highlights (1/6/2019)
DeMarre Carroll 20 Points Full Highlights (1/6/2019)

Sometimes I wonder what would happen to DeMarre Carroll if he just decided to walk around Toronto late at night. If people recognized him, he would definitely get heckled at the very least. No question about that. Raptors fans are still salty about how they signed him to a big contract and he immediately started playing like booty sauce. But what if rowdy Canadians took it one step further? What if they started getting violent? Would Carroll just get his ass totally kicked if he was dumb enough to walk around downtown Toronto all by himself after what he did to the Raptors franchise? I guess I shouldn't worry about it too much. One guy trying to kick Carroll's ass by himself would get destroyed. You might have missed it because Carroll is not an exciting dude to watch, but his arms are yoked. He could wipe the floor with a lone Canadian no problem. Even a group of guys would probably struggle to take down Carroll unless they did some kind of coordinated "swarm" like bees do. It's just sort of an interesting idea. Can an NBA player be so hated in a specific location that he would actually be putting himself in danger by going there? All clips property of the NBA. No copyright infringement is intended. Domantas Sabonis 23 Points Full Highlights (1/4/2019)
Domantas Sabonis 23 Points Full Highlights (1/4/2019)

Domantas Sabonis gave various members of the Chicago Bulls his "Saboner" in this game. Saboner-giving Instance #1: At 0:32, Sabonis gives his Saboner to Wendell Carter Jr. for the easy bucket off the strong post move and ball fake. Except it was more like his "Sabonass" than his "Saboner". Saboner-giving Instance #2: At 0:53, Sabonis gives his Saboner to the entire five-man lineup that the Bulls had on the court at the time. It was a total collapse of team defense that led to Sabonis rising up for an uncontested power pump. Zach Lavine possibly received a larger share of the Saboner by being the one who was foolish enough to foul. Saboner-giving Instance #2: At 1:43, Sabonis gives his Saboner to Lauri Markkanen, who didn't rotate over nearly fast enough. It's a good thing he didn't, though, because nothing was going to stop Sabonis' throbbing, hard-hitting Saboner on this drive to the basket. Markkanen might have died if he had tried to get in on that poster, and the close ties of Finland and Lithuania would have been irrecoverably broken. As you can see from the above outline, Saboners were received by a large portion of the Bulls' team, and that's not even including all the times that Sabonis used his Saboner in order to steal rebounds away from the weak, pathetic hands of the Bulls. The entire game was truly Sabonerific. All clips property of the NBA. No copyright infringement is intended. Check out http://downtobuck.net !

Luka Doncic 23 Points Full Highlights (12/23/2018)
Luka Doncic 23 Points Full Highlights (12/23/2018)

In a fair and just world, I would've been allowed to put "/1 Game-Winner" in the title of this video. In such a world, a converted deep-corner three off an out-of-bounds play with .6 seconds left in the game would automatically win the game for the team that hit it. Luka Doncic and the Mavericks would walk off the court a winner by virtue of Doncic's heroic sky-fornicating shot. We do not live in such a world. The Mavericks were forced into an unfair overtime period against the Trailblazers, where they "lost". I consider this game a win for Dallas, but the official NBA record keepers disagree with me. That's okay. This is not the first time we have disagreed, and with each disagreement, my desire to form the DTBBA (DownToBuck Basketball Association) gets one notch stronger. In my new league, extra points will be given for shots that reach certain aesthetic thresholds. Want 3 points on your dunk instead of 2? Windmill it. Want 4 points instead of 3 on your shot from beyond the arc? Nail it from behind the backboard with a hand in your face and your team down by three points. It will be hard work to recruit players and teams to my new league, but I bet I have a sympathetic ear in Doncic. He will agree that my new points system is fair and just, and he will be the seed of my new venture. And with him in the fold, one of the hottest rising superstars in the NBA, either I will rise and challenge NBA for global basketball dominance, or I will accept an exorbitant buyout on the order of billions of dollars. Derrick Rose 33 Points/7 Assists Full Highlights (12/19/2018)
Derrick Rose 33 Points/7 Assists Full Highlights (12/19/2018)

Derrick Rose, as far as I can tell, is posting the best on-off splits of his career. Even better than his ones from his MVP-level prime in Chicago. Part of that is because he is a total beast who somehow came back from the dead to destroy Father Time forever, and another part of that is that for much of the season he's been backing up Jeff Teague who doesn't seem to want to actually do anything on the basketball court. But it's not like we need advanced stats to tell us how good Rose is this year. We can see with our own eyes. When we get told that he's the most efficient player in the league outside of the paint, we believe it, but we also already kind of knew that. Anyone who watches his highlights knows that he never misses those pullup jumpers that he loves to take. People who watch his games might say that he sometimes misses those, but you know what I say to that? FAKE NEWS. SAD! This is another sick game for him that maybe could've been sicker if he had been a little more aggressive with the three-point chucking. It's been almost a month since he had more than 5 attempts from deep; shouldn't one of the most potent three-shooters be taking a few more of them? I know I'm nitpicking, but I want to see these 30-burgers turned into 40-burgers and that's the quickest way to do it. All clips property of the NBA. No copyright infringement is intended.
