On the eve of THE PLAYERS Championship presented by Optum, Morgan Stanley and Comcast Business, 10 of the most prominent golf creators will take on the world-class venue that is THE PLAYERS Stadium Course – facing the same dynamic and challenging conditions as the pros – to compete for the Creator Classic at TPC Sawgrass title. Ludvig Åberg WINS by one at TIGER’S event | Round 4 | The Genesis | 2025
In the final round of The Genesis Invitational 2025, Ludvig Åberg shoots a 6-under 66 to get to 12-under overall to win his second PGA TOUR title by one shot over Maverick McNealy. However, this year, out of respect for the victims of the recent wildfires in the Greater Los Angeles Area in January, the South Course at Torrey Pines Golf Course serves as the temporary stage for the third Signature Event of the season, which hosted The Farmer’s Insurance Open a few weeks ago. Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama returns to defend his title from 2024 where he stormed back Sunday with a 9-under 62 after starting six shots off the lead. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will be competing, along with Rory McIlroy, who is coming off his win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Creator Classic | East Lake Golf Club
The Creator Classic will feature 16 of YouTube’s top golf creators from across the globe battling on the back nine at East Lake Golf Club under PGA TOUR tournament course conditions, the day before the top 30 PGA TOUR players will compete for the FedExCup trophy at the TOUR Championship. The nine-hole tournament features four foursomes, with each star playing as an individual in a stroke play. Handicaps will not be in effect and no strokes will be given to any player. Each foursome will play holes 10 through 17. After these eight holes, the four lowest-scoring players will compete in a one-hole playoff. In the event that there are ties for the lowest four scores, a chip-off will happen on No. 17 to determine the final four. The player closest to the hole would advance to the final playoff hole. In the final round of the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship, Xander Schauffele turned in a 5-under 65, getting him to 17-under for the tournament to claim his 26th victory of his PGA TOUR career by five strokes. This is the sixth signature event of the season, which features an elite field of 69 players. Rory McIlroy returns this week to a place where he’s had plenty of success. He’s claimed three victories here (2010, 2015 and 2021), as well as five top-10s. He enters this week with momentum after winning the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with Shane Lowry two weeks ago. Wyndham Clark will also tee it up as he looks to become the first player to win back-to-back here. This was Clark’s first win on TOUR, and he has claimed two more titles since that victory - including the U.S. Open. Xander Schauffele will also be in Charlotte this week as he hopes to secure his first win. He finished second here in 2023 and claimed T25 or better in 10 of 11 events this season. Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry combine for memorable win | Round 4 | Zurich Classic | 2024
In the final round of the 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry shoot a 4-under 68 to force a playoff with Chad Ramey and Martin Trainer. On the first playoff hole, McIlroy and Lowry make a par that sealed McIlroy’s 25th PGA TOUR title and Lowry’s third. Rory McIlroy makes his tournament debut alongside good friend, Ryder Cup teammate and fellow Irishman Shane Lowry. McIlroy is looking to build some momentum this season, as he has posted only one top-15 thus far (third at the Valero Texas Open). Lowry recently went T4-3rd-T19 on the Florida Swing. Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele play together this week in an attempt to claim the title back after their victory in 2022. Cantlay played well for a T3 finish last week at the RBC Heritage, while Schauffele’s T2 at THE PLAYERS Championship and 8th place finish at the Masters will give him confidence. The pair claimed T4 in defense of their title last year. Davis Riley and Nick Hardy will defend their 2023 title this week. No team has ever gone back-to-back at this event.
