Max $20 discount The NHL regular season is coming to an end as this marks the final I had to watch these more than once. Time has absolute flown by! But this final leg of the regular season, with teams battling it out brought an action packed week. We had brawls breaking seemingly every game whether it was between the Washington Capitals and the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Montreal Canadiens and both the Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings or the Vancouver Canucks and Minnesota Wild where Derek Forbort broke his Orbital bone in a crazy scrap! Adam Pelech was also leaking after getting hit by the Devils Paul Cotter who was suspended. Then, after breaking the goals record it now appears Alex Ovechkin has the all time hits record in mind as he was flying, we saw Adam Fantilli lay a massive hit on Ryan Leanard and then going the other way for a big goal, Gavin Mckenna also had an absolute beauty in the WHL but no goal was prettier than Quinton Byfield scoring one handed against the Kraken. This week also saw NHL history being made! The Canucks became the first team to overcome a 3 goal deficit with less than a minute and win in OT, Nikita Kucherov become just the 3rd player in NHL history with 3 consecutive 80 assist seasons, Marc Andre Fleury become the first goalie ever to reach 70 OT wins and with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins and New York Rangers all missing the Playoffs, it marked another first in NHL history. However, the Winnipeg Jets winning the Presidents Trophy also did so for the first time in Franchise history. Certainly a wild week to cap off a wild season and I’ll cover it all more in todays NHL hockey video. So sit back and enjoy as I go around the hockey world and look at everything worth a second look! #nhl #hockey #highlights
Facing a desperate Columbus Blue Jackets team on the brink of elimination, the Washington Capitals who rested Ovechkin today were absolutely bodied by Columbus. When Ryan Leonard was hit hard by Adam Fantilli who then scored a goal immediately after, it perfectly summed up how this game went. However, in the 3rd period after several game misconducts were handed out, one of which was to Dmitri Voronkov, he never left the bench. He doesn't speak good English, the Columbus bench wasn't told about and so shortly after, he was suddenly back out on the ice on a power play! When the officials finally noticed, they blew the whistle and assessed the Blue Jackets a bench minor for having an illegal player out which was one of the oddest and most hilarious sequences I've ever seen. Dean Evason absolutely laid into the official as it was great cinema. I cover it all more in todays NHL hockey video!
If I told you that the Vancouver Canucks, down 3 goals with just 1 minute remaining against the Dallas Stars would win that game, would you believe me? Well, that is exactly what happened last night as we witnessed NHL history in one of the craziest comebacks of all time! What is crazy, is that just last season the Dallas Stars came back against the Predators with just 15 seconds remaining in the third to not just tie the game, but win it in regulation. This time however, they were on the receiving end of it! The Canucks needed a win in this game to not be eliminated from NHL Playoff contention. The Stars, with a victory, would have sealed home ice advantage. Instead, we witnessed one of the greatest final minute of hockey ever! I cover it all and more in todays NHL hockey video!
The Toronto Maple Leafs have completely imploded during these NHL Playoffs. It started with William Nylander missing the first 3 games, then Mitch Marner having a terrible performance, Auston Matthews not finishing the 3rd period of a must win game all paired with questionable coaching and poor goal tending from Samsonov. It all lead to a moment where tempers boiled over on the bench in the 2nd period of last nights game against the Boston Bruins where Matthews showed his frustration and Nylander threw some jabs right back. What I believe the internet is getting wrong about this though, is what it is that Nylander actually said. I cover that and breakdown the entire game in todays NHL hockey video! #highlights #hockey #nhl #torontomapleleafs #bostonbruins #nhlplayoffs
This is sad news out of Boston today. Milan Lucic, who has become a household name amongst NHL fans is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the Boston Bruins. While he’s had a reputation, the power forward has been able to carve out a nice career playing over 1300 games in the NHL. Entering his 16th season this year, he’s been generally fairly well respected. At least that’s how I felt about him. I may not have always liked him, but I respected him. Reportedly, late last night Lucic was arrested in Boston for a domestic dispute. At this stage in his career, this is probably the end of the road for his NHL playing days. I cover it in todays NHL video. #hockey #nhl #highlights #bostonbruins
