We Are West Ham Podcast Ep. 125: Ta-ta Tottenham ft. West Ham legend Tony Cottee

West Ham beat bitter rivals Tottenham 2-1 at London Stadium on Sunday to move FOURTH in the Premier League. FOURTH! Whether the Hammers can cling on to that last Champions League place remains to be seen but these moments have been at least five years in the waiting since the move from Upton Park and every West Ham fan deserves to enjoy them. Will Pugh is joined by James Jones and Tom Edwards to revel in the glow of a victory over Spurs and also to chat just how far this team can go under David Moyes. The boys heap praise on Tomas Soucek, Vladimir Coufal, Jesse Lingard, Lukasz Fabianski and David Moyes after a win that meant so much to the team and the fans. West Ham’s legendary former striker Tony Cottee dials in for an exclusive interview to celebrate, reminisce and look ahead to the Irons’ visit to Man City. And he also calls on the club to extend Mark Noble’s contract for another year to ensure he gets a proper send off from fans. The lads make their picks for this week’s Betway charity bets after Tom came agonisingly close against Spurs. And Man City fan Ste Tudor joins the lads to look ahead to Saturday’s clash with the Hammers at the Etihad. Will is in the hot-seat for popular quiz Name That Game. And the lads reflect on a quiet week for the West Ham Women. Thanks very much for watching! "If you're in the top-flight, you don't like Spurs" - Exclusive interview with legend Tony Cottee
"If you're in the top-flight, you don't like Spurs" - Exclusive interview with legend Tony Cottee

What better way to react to Sunday's huge win over Spurs than to chat to a player who just loved scoring against them in his day! Friend of the show Tony Cottee scored against Spurs on his West Ham debut and went on to score nine goals in 19 appearances against them throughout his career - he didn't score more goals against any other opponent! Cottee joined the lads this week to react to the victory over Jose Mourinho's Tottenham, reminisce about his time playing against them and to preview this week's huge clash against league leaders Manchester City. He also called for the club to hand Mark Noble an extended deal so fans can give him a proper farewell at the end of his long West Ham career and, of course, gave his thoughts on what is becoming one of the club's best-ever seasons in the top-flight. We Are West Ham Podcast Ep. 124: Champions League planning - ft. Hammers Utd & West Ham Clips

West Ham beat Sheffield United 3-0 at London Stadium without getting out of third gear on Monday night. Declan Rice coolly dispatched a penalty after Jesse Lingard was wiped out and then tried to take the spot-kick ahead of Dec. The Hammers briefly went fourth before Chelsea's win a few hours later but once again things are hunky-dory in East London. Will Pugh is joined by James Jones and Tom Edwards to plan the European tour for next season which is definitely going to happen and the lads decide which of Europe's giants they want to face in the group stage. Iconic mastermind of West Ham's alternative commentary Twitter account 'West Ham Clips' joins the lads for an EXCLUSIVE interview and to place a Betway charity bet. And Andy Byrne from West Ham's biggest supporter group Hammers Utd dials in for a chat to discuss many things happening at the club right now including the fan survey undertaken by Andy's group. Daily Mirror sports journalist and Tottenham fan Alex Milne features to look ahead to Sunday's massive London derby with Spurs. Tom hosts Name That Game and the lads wrap up with another discussion of a defeat for West Ham Women. Please SUBSCRIBE, RATE and REVIEW if you like what we do and just let your friends know about us. Sheffield United Reaction: Who do we want in our UCL group!? | We Are West Ham Podcast
Sheffield United Reaction: Who do we want in our UCL group!? | We Are West Ham Podcast

Another win, another clean sheet, 4th in Premier League (if only for an hour or so) and, whisper it quietly, a genuine challenge for a place in the next season's Champions League. Yep, we are actually talking about our beloved West Ham United. Up to this point in the season, a top-four finish was just a dream we all kind of had but didn't want to talk about too much, top six or eight was probably the more realistic dream to have. But now, having comfortably beaten Sheffield United 3-0 to go above Liverpool and into the top four, should we be setting our targets a little higher? Some will say "it's only Sheffield United" and they would be right, but that was the sort of game West Ham of old would lose - the pressure of the chance to go fourth would've been too much for the players. This season, though, the mentality is clearly different. It's better, stronger. So on this week's show, James, Will and Tom start discussing who they would prefer in next season's Champions League group, while Will admits he's already started applying for a Russian visa ahead of next season's UCL final in St. Petersburg! It always pays to plan ahead. Also in this week's match reaction section, James quizzes Will on his thoughts about Said Benrahma's impact off the bench and Tom's Twitter rants are exposed as arguably the best bit of content everyone didn't realise they needed! We Are West Ham Podcast Ep. 120: The murky world of West Ham's finances - Ft. Kieran Maguire
We Are West Ham Podcast Ep. 120: The murky world of West Ham's finances - Ft. Kieran Maguire

West Ham are massive. Two wins in four days. Six games unbeaten. Four wins in a row in all competitions. Seventh in the league. West Ham are MASSIVE! In what is fast becoming another memorable season in our great club's history, David Moyes has transformed us into a dodgy, weak and unpredictable relegation battling outfit to a strong, resolute, consistent and hard to beat side battling for European qualification. All that in just over a year! Of course, it's still early days and we are playing in unsual circumstances with COVID still very much playing a part in the way football is played both on and off the pitch. But we're beginning to see real progress under Moyes. On this week's bumper show, recording straight after the 2-1 win over West Brom on Tuesday night, James Jones, Will Pugh and Tom Edwards dissect the side's fantastic form, look ahead to this weekend's FA Cup 4th Round clash v. Doncaster and, in a huge and very insightful interview, chat about West Ham's finances with football finance expert Kieran Maguire. Kieran reveals what he thinks are the reasons behind the recent appointment of new directors, gives a pretty heartbreaking view on a potential sale of the club in the near future and discusses the ins and outs of recent transfers, the severe financial impact of COVID on the club and much, much more. This really is a must-watch interview! Please SUBSCRIBE to the pod and like, rate and share our stuff. Tell your friends about us. And WATCH us and subscribe to our YouTube channel here. We Are West Ham Podcast Ep. 110: Is it even possible to be angry after a win - ft. Tony Gale
We Are West Ham Podcast Ep. 110: Is it even possible to be angry after a win - ft. Tony Gale

Is anyone still giggling to themselves about Ademola Lookman's hilarious attempt at a Panenka during West Ham vs Fulham last weekend? Surely it has to be the worst penalty to have been taken in Premier League history, but it means we were able to come away with what some consider to be a very fortunate three points last weekend. The first half wasn't bad but the second half was poor, as we ran out of ideas to break Scott Parker's side down, and it almost cost us. And that's the stance Will Pugh is taking this week. Despite the win, Will is angry with the performance, Said Benrahma's 'unprofessionalism' in giving away the penalty and James Jones' view that you just can't be upset with a win. The latter definitely making Will a lot angrier than he should be. So this episode has a lot of James and Will completely disagreeing with each other, which always makes for fun listening, while Tom Edwards sits back and refuses to get involved. The big interview this week is with West Ham icon Tony Gale, who joined the lads to discuss the Fulham game, the impact Moyes has had on the team, Declan Rice and so much more! Also on the show, the lads discuss their Betway Charity Bets from last weekend, WSL journalist (and upset Fulham fan) Isabelle Barker dials in to chat all things West Ham Women and Tom Edwards takes the quizmaster hotseat for Name That Game.
