MONTANA STATE 35, SACRAMENTO STATE 13 - Montana State registered 511 yards of offense in a Big Sky win. Bobcats quarterback Dakota Prukop completed 12-of-22 passes for 277 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 69 yards and two touchdowns. Prukop opened the game by finding Mitchell Herbert for a 79-yard touchdown less than a minute into the game. After a Justin Paige touchdown run, MSU held a 14-0 lead. However, Sacramento State responded with a touchdown and a field goal to trail 14-10. A Prukop touchdown run gave Montana State a 21-10 halftime lead. MONTANA STATE 45, CAL POLY 28 - In the only game between nationally-ranked FCS teams this weekend, Montana State entered the game with a chip on its shoulder. Fresh off a missed opportunity and defensive struggles in a 55-50 loss to Eastern Washington, the Bobcats came out with an early edge in a 45-28 Homecoming victory over Cal Poly at Bobcat Stadium. A week after throwing for 353 yards and rushing for 196 yards, Bobcats quarterback Dakota Prukop followed that marquee performance up by completing 19-of-26 yards for 399 yards and three touchdowns. One of the highlight plays gave Montana State a 21-0 lead, as he found a wide-open Jayshawn Gates on an 88-yard touchdown. Chad Newell also rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns. Cal Poly's Joe Protheroe rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown. The Mustangs got the score as close as 31-21 to end the second quarter, as Kori Garcia ran for a six-yard touchdown late in the half. However, Montana State outscored Cal Poly 14-0 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. For the second time in school history, the Eastern Washington are the Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Champions. Eastern Washington closed Saturday night's championship game on a 17-4 run to beat No. 1 seed Montana on its home court 69-65 on Saturday night. Montana led by 11 points with 6:15 to play, but the Eagles would not be denied. EWU hit 9 of its final 10 field goals. A jumper by Drew Brandon with 1:33 remaining gave the Eagles the lead for good at 64-63. Tournament MVP Tyler Harvey scored 18 points to lead the Eagles. Drew Brandon added 16 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Bogdan Bliznyuk added 13 points off the bench. EWU shot .442 percent from the field, but was just 4-of-18 from 3-point range. Montana 74, Weber State 63: Junior Martin Breunig scored 19 points with 10 rebounds to lead the surging Grizzlies. Montana shot .50 percent from the floor, and took control with a 20-2 run in the first half. Senior Jordan Gregory scored 15 points with five rebounds and four assists in his final regular-season game at Dahlberg Arena. Senior Michael Wisner added 13 points off the bench. Junior Chris Golden led Weber State with 18 points. True freshman Ryan Richardson his five 3-pointers and finished with 15 points off the bench. The Wildcats were hurt by 18 turnovers. No. 13 Montana 34, No. 12 Montana State 7: Montana senior QB Jordan Johnson threw for 313 yards and three touchdowns, and rushed for 80 yards to lead the Grizzlies to their second straight win over Montana State. Montana's defense intercepted five Bobcat passes and recovered two fumbles, holding the Bobcats scoreless for the 54 minutes of the game. Safety Matt Hermanson intercepted three passes and finished with eight tackles. Senior defensive end Zack Wagenmann finished with a sack and two forced fumbles. He became the school's all-time sack leader. Wagenmann, a candidate for the Buck Buchanan Award, finished the regular season with 13.5 sacks and 18.5 tackles for loss. Montana running back Jordan Canada rushed for 119 yards, rushed for a touchdown and caught a touchdown. Montana State quarterback Jake Bleskin, subbing for an injured Dakota Prukop, completed 15-of-28 passes for 145 yards and was intercepted five times. A Washington-Grizzly Stadium record crowd of 26,352 was on hand. No. 12 Montana State 44, Idaho State 39: Junior quarterback Jake Bleskin, playing for an injured Dakota Prukop, threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns to help the Bobcats to the win in frigid Bozeman. Anthony Knight scored three rushing touchdowns, including a 6-yarder in the fourth quarter to give the Bobcats a 44-33 lead. Chad Newell rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown. Idaho State led 30-23 at the half, and closed within 44-39 on a 4-yard rush by Daniel McSurdy with 8:25 to play. Idaho State blocked a Montana State field goal try with just over two minutes to play. Idaho State drove inside Montana State territory, but the Bobcats held. Idaho State's Justin Arias threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns. Xavier Finney rushed 13 times for 127 yards. Madison Mangum caught seven passes for 143 yards and two touchdowns. Idaho State saw its five-game winning streak ended. No. 5 Eastern Washington 36, No. 11 Montana 26: Vernon Adams threw for 414 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions as the Eagles beat Montana for the third straight season. Adams missed the previous four games with a broken foot. Sophomore Cooper Kupp caught eight passes for 134 yards and hauled in a 38-yard TD pass in the third quarter to put EWU ahead 27-10. Less than 90 seconds later, he returned a punt 67 yards for a touchdown. Montana senior Jordan Johnson threw for a career-high 447 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. Jamal Jones caught nine passes for 138 yards, including a 38-yard TD late in the third quarter to cut EWU's lead to 33-23. Eastern Washington has a bye next week before closing out the regular season on Friday, Nov. 21 at Portland State.
