For the second time in school history, the Eastern Washington are the Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Champions. Eastern Washington closed Saturday night's championship game on a 17-4 run to beat No. 1 seed Montana on its home court 69-65 on Saturday night. Montana led by 11 points with 6:15 to play, but the Eagles would not be denied. EWU hit 9 of its final 10 field goals. A jumper by Drew Brandon with 1:33 remaining gave the Eagles the lead for good at 64-63. Tournament MVP Tyler Harvey scored 18 points to lead the Eagles. Drew Brandon added 16 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Bogdan Bliznyuk added 13 points off the bench. EWU shot .442 percent from the field, but was just 4-of-18 from 3-point range.
