Corie Blount, Los Angeles Lakers player from 1995-98 recalls when he brought Muhammad Ali to the locker room. The legendary fighter and social activist took photos with the team including Kobe Bryant. Full interview from KCAL News: https://youtu.be/196_la1b8Dw Excerpt from ‘Tyson Fury Pays Tribute to Legend Muhammad Ali in Latest Story’ article by Chirag Radhyan: The video in question is an Instagram reel that is edited in such away, it shows similar quotes used by Fury and Ali in different scenarios. The thirty-second reel opens with Tyson Fury comparing himself to Muhammad Ali. He said, “But I’d say I’m a modern-day Muhammad Ali.” Then the following cut is a video of Ali where he’s calling Henry Cooper a “bum”. Following that, Tyson Fury’s clip comes up where he’s calling Deontay Wilder a “bum” too. Similarly, Ali gave his opponent Floyd Patterson, the nickname “The Rabbit” before their fight. In the succeeding clip, Tyson Fury can be seen calling Oleksandr Usyk the same word “The Rabbit”, after knocking out Derek Chisora. In the same scenario, Fury said to Usyk, “Well I ain’t a bodybuilder ‘sucka’, but I’ll end this ‘sucka’.” And this clip was in contrast with Ali’s clip where he was shadowboxing while facing the camera and said the following words, “Back up ‘sucka’, back up! Come get me ‘sucka’ I’m dancing”. Kobe Bryant speaks on mental health at WE RISE, a 10-day immersive experience bringing together LA’s diverse community. The original video by Why We Rise was uploaded on June 14, 2018. Full interview from Why We Rise: https://youtu.be/cDBaTvcELSI ‘Kobe Bryant rings: How many NBA championships does he have?’ article from Marca: When Shaq parted ways with the Lakers, he went on to play for the Miami Heat and won his fourth NBA Championship ring alongside a young Dwyane Wade. After that, Kobe Bryant seemed hell-bent on surpassing what Shaq did when he left the Lakers. Bryant had a great run during the late '2000s and reached three consecutive finals. If it hadn't been for Kevin Garnett's Boston Celtics, Kobe would've probably won that first of three finals he played between 2008 and 2010. So there you have it folks, the late great Kobe Bean Bryant has five NBA Championship rings. Only one short of Michael Jordan. Kobe Bryant reveals what his favorite color is. You will most likely be shocked by his response. The original video was uploaded on January 1, 2019. Full interview from Melissa Kalloo: https://youtu.be/aWYYzKSNYJ8 Music: Easy-going Particular by DJ BAI (from CapCut) Excerpt from '"That's just basic NBA basketball" - Why Kobe Bryant was surprised he was suspended after elbowing Mike Miller's throat' article by Virgil Villanueva: Right after the NBA handed down the penalty, Bryant expressed his disbelief. He noted that he'd been hit with harder fouls, which included clotheslines, yet not a single player was suspended. According to Bryant, he was just playing hard-nosed defense. Physicality, which includes elbows — inadvertent or not — is part of the game in Kobe's book. "This being our home court, people come here and think it's Hollywood and all sorts of stuff, so they think they'll come down [the lane] and look pretty and shoot jump shots and dunk the ball and finger-roll the ball and do all sorts of cute stuff. And we've got to stop that," Bryant said, per ESPN. "Somebody comes down the lane, you've got to hit him," he said Friday. "You can't let them come down the lane and just finger roll and get easy baskets. Nothing to hurt anybody like that. That's just basic NBA basketball." Full interview from losangelessportsvid: https://youtu.be/EMwx4w0W8Yk Excerpt from ‘Lakers Former Head Athletic Trainer Gary Vitti: “If You Actually Look At Kobe Bryant, There’s Nothing Really Special About Him.”’ article by Aikansh Chaudhary: ‘"The more you think about it, you'll realize if you actually look at Kobe Bryant, there's nothing really special about him in terms of his god-given things. Is he big? He's bigger than me. Bigger than the average person in the world. But is he big by NBA's standards? No, he's not that big. Was he quick? Yeah, he was quick, but he wasn't the quickest. Was he strong? Yes he was, but he wasn't the strongest. Was he a leaper? Yeah, he could get off his feet, but he wasn't like Zach LaVine, he didn't have 42 inch vertical. There was nothing there. Nothing. Why does he have five rings? And other guys that were infinitely more talented have none? I'll tell you. Number one - Nobody and I mean nobody worked harder than Kobe. But a lot of people work hard. Kobe also worked smart. ... Second thing. Nobody was more competitive than Kobe. ... He was absolutely the toughest player that I ever came across. To a point where I had a responsibility, at times, to protect him from himself. He was maniacal because he took two words out of his lexicon - can't and won't. He replaced those words with - can and will. And somehow he would convince himself that he could do it and he did. It was a mental [and] physical thing. Not just mental, not just physical, it was a combination of those. He was an enigma. He was intellectually brilliant at everything he did."’ Full article: https://www.yardbarker.com/nba/articles/lakers_former_head_athletic_trainer_gary_vitti_if_you_actually_look_at_kobe_bryant_theres_nothing_really_special_about_him/s1_16751_38333271 🏷 #vladimirradmanovic #lakersoffseason #nbaplayoffs #nbabasketball #playoffs #basketballplayoffs #basketball #basketballplayers #basketballteams
A Los Angeles Clippers player told Kobe Bryant they would have won a championship together if Kobe had been traded to the Clippers in 2004. This interview by Chris Myers is from 2006. Full interview by Chris Myers: https://youtu.be/jDoV0yiRFUk Excerpt from ‘Where Kobe Bryant almost went’ article by Herb Scribner: West (via Yahoo! Sports): “I remember when he was going to leave the Lakers,” West said. “I never really mentioned this to anyone. He was going to come and sign with the Clippers, who I am now involved with as a consultant. And I told him ‘Kobe, under no circumstances can you do this.’ He was mad at everyone at the Lakers, the owner, everyone else. I said ‘Kobe, you can’t go play with the Clippers. You can’t play for that owner. Period.’ West (via Yahoo! Sports): “We had two conversations about — he supposedly made a commitment to the Clippers — and after the last one, we talked for the last time. But there were so many things that we talked about, as he was just seeking information. His parents were with him for a while, and honestly I felt like his father for two years.” Full article: https://www.deseret.com/sports/2020/1/30/21114290/kobe-bryant-golden-state-warriors-nba-trade-free-agency-leborn-james-dallas-mavericks-clippers?_amp=true 🏷 #losangelesclippers #nbatrade #nbawhatif #laclippers #clippers #losangeleslakers #lalakers #lakers #lakersnation #clippersnation #coreymaggette #kobe #kobebryant #mamba #blackmamba
