NBA | Cleveland Cavs vs. Philadelphia 76'ers Post Game Show Garrett Bush of 92.3 The Fan Recap the Cavs vs. 76'ers live from PHILADELPHIA- Tyrese Maxey made five 3-pointers and scored 33 points to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to their fifth straight win, 125-119 over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night. The 76ers improved to 4-0 with James Harden in the lineup. Harden had 25 points and 11 assists. Joel Embiid added 22 points and nine rebounds. Maxey, though, stole the show. The second-year guard out of Kentucky tore through the Cavaliers in the second half and seemingly turned Embiid and Harden into bystanders. His best sequence came in the fourth. Maxey hit a 3 that gave the Sixers a one-point lead, then he drained a 3 off a pass from Harden on the break that made it 110-106 and had the Philly crowd going wild. Harden held his arms high and beckoned the crowd to get even louder. Harden, who had at least 20 points and 10 assists for the third time in four games, picked up his third foul at 8:32 in the second quarter and took only four shots through three. Yet, he still had 18 points (and nine assists) on the strength of two 3s and 8 of 8 from the free-throw line. He's dynamic pairing with Embiid was expected. But his presence has turned Maxey into a knock-off Allen Iverson since his arrival. Maxey made 76ers fans -- and, frankly, the 76ers -- forget about Ben Simmons with his play this season. He turned it on in the third quarter and brought the Sixers back from long-range, attacking the net, and even with a nifty pass off the break to Embiid. Maxey hit two 3s and scored 14 points in the quarter to bring the Sixers back from 21 points down to grab a lead late in the third. He buried a 3, then came back right with a 12-footer to make it a three-point deficit. The speedy guard tossed the ball to Embiid for the easy bucket that sent the crowd into a frenzy. He scored 20 points for the fourth straight game, the longest streak of his career -- and all with Harden. But it was Georges Niang who finally gave the Sixers their first lead on a basket and a 3 that made it 97-93. Darius Garland scored 28 points for the Cavaliers. Isaac Okoro added 22. The Cavaliers hit their first nine shots and Kevin Love hit a pair of 3s to help them race to a 39-18 lead. They have lost six of seven. Cavaliers: Coach J.B. Bickerstaff was fined $20,000 by the NBA for his behavior while being ejected from a game on Monday night. The league fined Bickerstaff for using inappropriate language toward the officiating crew and not leaving the court "in a timely manner." 76ers: Veteran C DeAndre Jordan is expected to join the team Saturday after he signed this week. Jordan's arrival reunites him with Philly's Doc Rivers, who was his coach while with the Los Angeles Clippers. "I hope he recaptures the Lob City days," Rivers said. "That would be fantastic for us." The 33-year-old Jordan joins Paul Millsap as a backup center for the Sixers. "We've got a bunch of backups now. He's just one of them," Rivers said. "But it's great to have him." Harden hit two 3s and has 2,559 on his career, one shy of matching Reggie Miller for third on the NBA's career list. UP NEXT- Cavaliers: Host Toronto on Sunday. 76ers: Play Saturday at Miami. #nba #cavs #sixers espn evan mobley

Garrett Bush of 92.3 The Fan recaps Monday Night Footballs Matchup between the Cleveland Browns and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers sent Ben Roethlisberger out as a winner in what was likely his final game at Heinz Field. Pittsburgh's 26-14 win over the Browns on Monday night also served as retribution for the Steelers, who 358 days earlier fell to Cleveland in the AFC wild card round. T.J. Watt led the Steelers' dominant defensive effort with four sacks, while Najee Harris' 188 rushing yards and two touchdowns spearheaded Pittsburgh's offensive attack. Watt is now a sack from tying Michael Strahan's NFL record, while Harris broke Franco Harris' 49-year-old franchise rookie rushing record. The win kept Pittsburgh (8-7-1) alive in the AFC wild card race with one week left in the regular season. The loss ensured that Cleveland (7-9) would finish the season with a losing record a year after winning its first playoff game in 26 years. Ahead 19-7, the Steelers received a scare when the Browns scored on Baker Mayfield's 1-yard touchdown pass to Harrison Bryant with 1:10 left. But the Browns' threat was short-lived after Minkah Fitzpatrick recovered the ensuing onside kick. Three plays later, Harris put the game on ice with his 37-yard touchdown run down the far sideline. The Steelers struck first on Roethlisberger's 5-yard touchdown pass to Diontae Johnson less than five minutes into the second quarter. The drive was extended after Browns defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was penalized 15 yards after he threw Chase Claypool's shoe on a third-and-10 play. From there, the Steelers received field goals of 22, 30, 50 and 48 yards from Chris Boswell, as Pittsburgh led 10-0 at halftime and 16-7 with about 10 minutes remaining. Led by Watt's four sacks, the Steelers' defense bewildered Mayfield and the Browns' offense. Pittsburgh sacked Mayfield nine times while setting up Boswell's second field goal on Arthur Maulet's second-quarter interception. Boswell added two more field goals to the Steelers' tally before the Browns capped off a 17-play drive with Bryant's touchdown reception. Cleveland was unable to complete the comeback, however, as Harris rumbled for the game-clinching score three plays after Bryant's score. The win gives Roethlisberger a 92-32 all-time record at Heinz Field as the Steelers' quarterback. Roethlisberger improved to 26-3-1 against the Browns, who famously passed on the Findlay, Ohio, native in the 2004 NFL Draft. #MNF #NFL #BIGBEN #AFCNORTH #WEEK17 #BROWNS #STEELERS first take afc north talk garrett bush 92.3 the fan garrett bush cleveland browns
Garrett Bush of 92.3 The Fan and John Kosko of Pro Football Focus breakdown NFL Week 4 | Cleveland Browns vs. Minnesota Vikings Preview. Garrett Bush and John Kosko also recap the Browns Week 3 win over the Chicago Bears. The Cleveland Browns improved to 2-1 on the season after defeating the Chicago Bears in Week 3. The Browns defense stepped up big, allowing an amazingly low 47 total yards of offense and sacking rookie quarterback Justin Fields nine times; defensive end Myles Garrett picking up 4.5 sacks. Odell Beckham Jr. made his return to the Cleveland offense, catching five passes for 77 receiving yards, but it also felt like a return for running back Kareem Hunt after his quiet start. Hunt had 10 carries for 81 yards and a touchdown on the ground, and caught six passes for 74 yards through the air. The Minnesota Vikings had a three point loss in Week 1, a one-point loss in Week 2, then picked up their first win of the season in Week 3, beating the Seattle Seahawks 30-17. Quarterback Kirk Cousins had a great game against the Seahawks, completing 30 of 38 passes for 323 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Alexander Mattison did a great job filling Dalvin Cook’s absence in the backfield, running for 112 yards on 26 carries and picking up six catches for 59 yards in the passing game. Here are the odds for this Week 4 contest, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook. Browns vs. Vikings Spread, Odds, and Over/Under Spread: Browns -1.5 (-110) Vikings +1.5 (-110) Moneyline: Browns -125 Vikings +105 Total: 52.5 (Over -110/Under -110) Browns vs. Vikings Betting Trends -Cleveland is 2-1 against the spread through Week 3. -Minnesota is 2-1 against the spread through Week 3. -The Browns are 2-3 against the spread in their last five games as favorites. Vikings’ games have gone 3-0 on the over in the first three weeks. Cleveland games have gone 3-0 on the over in the first three weeks. Browns vs. Vikings Prediction With players like defensive end Myles Garrett, cornerback Denzel Ward, and defensive end Jadeveon Clowney among others, this Cleveland defense is starting to form into one of the most intimidating defenses in the NFL. The Browns have allowed just 210.7 passing yards per game (sixth in the NFL), 67 rushing yards per game (fifth in the NFL), and 20 points per game (eighth in the NFL), while the Vikings are 20th or worse in all three categories. Cousins had a nice game last week against Seattle’s soft defense, but he will have his hands full when Cleveland comes to Minnesota. #NFL #ODDS #PICKS #WEEK4 #BROWNS #VIKINGS
Garrett Bush of 92.3 The Fan and John Kosko of Pro Football Focus breakdown the NFL Week 3 | Browns vs. Bears Preview. Garrett Bush and John Kosko also recap the Browns Week 2 matchup with the Houston Texans. The Browns are coming off a 31-21 Week 2 victory over the Houston Texans. There are trends on both sides of the ball that trigger pause. It’s important not to overreact, but injuries, an absent pass rush, soft perimeter coverage and unproven receivers are all worry me. Without Jarvis Landry, the Browns passing game centered around its tight ends. Harrison Bryant, Austin Hooper and David Njoku combined for 12 catches and 107 yards. Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones and rookie Anthony Schwartz caught just three balls for 42 yards. Peoples-Jones wasn’t targeted again after his first-quarter fumble. Same for Schwartz following the interception he caused by stopping his post route in the second quarter. Baker Mayfield dislocated his shoulder on the turnover trying to tackle Texans safety Justin Reid. Mayfield didn’t miss a snap despite leaving briefly for the locker room. However, Kevin Stefanski admitted it altered his play calling, as he prioritized protecting Mayfield from more hits. That didn’t hinder Mayfield from rushing for a touchdown on the following drive, which eliminated the Texans’ lone lead of the game. The Browns scored three touchdowns and a field goal on their next four drives. Thanks to a 33-yard Demetric Felton screen and Nick Chubb’s 26-yard fourth-quarter rushing touchdown, Cleveland held on. Mayfield rushed a career-high eight times, a sign he felt a need to take over. He only gained 10 yards, but several of his escapes were timely, including the touchdown run and a 4-yard scramble on a fourth-quarter third-and-2. Chubb scored off right guard the next play. The Bears forced Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow into three fourth-quarter interceptions and held him to 207 yards passing on 19 completions and 30 attempts. More on that later. I suggest it’s Hollywood Higgins’ time. He’s always been Mayfield’s small-wins savior, opening against any type of coverage and securing contested catches. With limited trust in DPJ and Schwartz -- plus no Landry -- Higgins provides needed familiarity. I’ll write more about Higgins and the absent pass rush later this week. Until then, let’s preview the Browns’ Week 3 opponent. Chicago comes to FirstEnergy Stadium after beating the Bengals, 20-17. It’s unknown whether rookie quarterback Justin Fields will start, but expect the Browns to plan for it. What to expect from the Bears Chicago’s defense made Sunday difficult for Burrow and the Bengals. The Bears turned Cinncinati over four times: three interceptions and a fumble recovery. Those turnovers resulted in 13 points. Linebacker Roquan Smith housed his interception by reading Burrow on a quick-game throw intended for Tyler Boyd. Fields completed 6 of 13 passes for 60 yards and an interception. He looked like a rookie but made some plays with his feet. With under three minutes to play, Fields scrambled for 10 yards on a third and 9 to ice it. Cleveland didn’t bother Tyrod Taylor on Sunday. Even rookie Davis Mills led a 16-play, 75-yard touchdown drive in the fourth quarter to pull Houston within three. Joe Woods’ defense isn’t in sync. Fields provides a get-right opportunity, but the element of surprise worries me. Myles Garrett admitted the Browns’ defense was caught off guard by the Texans’ first-half game plan. What we learned Chicago is better than Houston and Cleveland is a 7.5-point favorite. Let’s see how the Browns heal this week. Trust in Stefanski to scheme a better game plan. Again, I think playing Higgins more should spark a passing game that relied too heavily on tight end passes, short throws and screens. Chubb and Hunt are capable of carrying the Browns offense through any fourth-quarter lead. Chubb averaged 5 yards per carry after first contact and should see his touches increase this week. It’s clear the Browns want to protect him from unnecessary harm. But if Odell Beckham Jr. and Landry both do not play, then then someone has to be explosive. That’s what Chubb does. Creating a pass rush and expanding the passing game are the keys to victory. It’s clear the Browns won’t blow out many teams, if any. But sound football wins and the Browns are exactly that, offensively at least. #week3 #nfl #browns #bears #objreturn #fields
