Brazil very convincingly dominated Poland in the final of the 2021 FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League to win the trophy for the very first time. Here's the reaction after the game, from the virtual Mixed Zone: Bartosz Kurek (Poland): "I was very surprised, but I think that the Most Valuable Player should be only a player of the winning team, so I really don't consider myself that way. Congrats to Brazil and Wallace - amazing player, amazing team. I hope that we are going to meet in the final this season again in another competition and hopefully then we will be a little bit better opponent and hopefully we can get a win then. I think they played amazing in passing, they kept all our hard serves up, they finished every ball after. In the third and fourth set our efficiency in spike dropped and we couldn't find our game. It's a lesson, painful lesson, but hopefully we can get something good out of it." Bruno Rezende (Brazil): "It's amazing. This month was so tough for us to be focused and to be in the bubble - it was something new for everybody. It was a really high-level tournament, but our team deserved it. We have 18 players and staff who every day give 100% of their dedication and that's the main thing of this team. We hope that we make people in Brazil proud of us. Now we have three days of rest and we start to think about Tokyo." Wallace De Souza (Brazil): "I'm very happy, but I'm a part of the team and I am just happy to contribute and do my job for the team. It's the first time for us to win the VNL, so it makes me even happier. We served very well and our pass worked very well, even if Poland served strong - it was a key to success. But also, we didn't make too many own mistakes and it was also very important." The 2021 FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League was originally to be the third edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League, an annual men's international volleyball tournament. 2021 version of VNL originally was scheduled to start earlier than the previous edition due to the 2020 Summer Olympics in July. The preliminary round was scheduled to be held in five weeks between May 28 and June 23, 2021. We didn't have such a power like we had during the preliminary round. After that we had a few of problems in sideout and our level went down in all elements. We were still fighting, we wanted to come back in the 3rd set. We played a good third set, but we had problems with scoring in sideout again, and point by point and then three or four points in a row and it was already too much. France played well, they put a lot of pressure with their serve, we struggled in sideout and this gave the result of the match. Before the Final Four we were satisfied with being in the top four. Before the finals we did a great tournament and I'm really happy about this, because it's the first time - not only at the VNL, but also when we had an opportunity to play so many strong matches in a row. This is a big experience for us and I'm happy about it. Regarding the Final Four, we can learn something from this, improve - we could have played a bit different and more aggressive, but I hope it will be an important lesson and experience for us in the future." Earvin Ngapeth (France): "We are very happy. It's very important to finish as the 3rd team in this competition. It was a very long and hard tournament. With this result we can go and prepare for the Olympics with a smile, because it's always important to go home with a medal. Also when it's hard, like yesterday against Brazil when they played a lot better than us and we couldn't find a solution, but we kept playing with a smile and good energy. We said it would be difficult with Slovenia. We have to enjoy the game like we did, today was very good. The energy that we put on the court made a difference, in addition Jenia [Grebennikov] played very good in defence. They won this game, because they played very well. We expected that they could play like this, they showed a big quality today and our game was not enough to win this match. We need to forget today, for sure we will think a little bit about it, but tomorrow in the morning we have a game against France for 3rd place and it's very important for us. Jean Patry (France): "I think that Brazil played very, very well today. We didn't have good mentality to play this game. We lost a lot of simple points. We are disappointed, because it was not a good game for us, not a game which we expected. We were bad in defence and it was a key part of the game in my opinion. We have to find our shape and a proper attitude ahead of tomorrow's match. It's really hard to play for 3rd place. We have to restart and open the game better tomorrow. We have to find more energy. We have to talk together and try to win tomorrow." Yoandy Leal (Brazil): "Our team was very concentrated on this match. We lost to France during the preliminary round, but today it was a great match of our entire team. Tomorrow we play for gold. The concentration of our team was the most important to play the game like this one. We served very well, we attacked very well and we put a lot of pressure on France.
