There was a huge difference in the quality of Football when Mumbai City faced Al- Shabab in the AFC Champions League group phase. Ever Banega was instrumental for the Saudi team in every attack and scored a brace in a 3-0 thumping of the islanders. The pace and intensity with which Al- Shabab played was too hot too handle. It could have been 5 or 6 goals scored if they were more ruthless in front of goal. The only positive from this match was the exposure given to young Indian players. It was an absolutely spineless performance by the Indian national team when they took on Belarus in their 2nd International Friendly in Bahrain. There was no intent and proactiveness in the second half which led to them conceding 3 lacklustre goals. It is high time that Igor Stimac resolves the defensive issues at the back and create an attractive playing pattern for the future.
