GT20 Canada Season 3 | Match - 5 Highlights | Brampton Wolves vs Toronto Nationals

#gt20canada #gt20season3 #cricketsnorth Both the teams coming into this contest high on confidence, bagging 2 points each winning their previous games. Tim Southee from the Wolves and Hamza Tariq from the Nationals came out for the coin toss. Wolves won the toss and asked the Nationals to bat first. No change in the Playing XI for both the teams. Hamza Tariq opened the innings with his partner Colin Munro. The skipper started off the innings with a positive intent, taking on the Wolves bowlers. It was a familiar affair for Munro as the opposition had a number of Kiwis on their side. Tariq's party was ended by Tim Southee thanks to a spectacular grab from Chris Green. The Canadian international Nicholas Kirton then joined his fellow Southpaw in the middle. Kirton was scoring at a swift pace, while Munro played a supporting role. Soon, Logan van Beek came into the attack and removed Colin Munro. This made way for Shahid Afridi to enter with 11 overs remaining. Afridi looked good in the middle, but his namesake from the Wolves - Shahid Ahmadzai found the piece of Afridi's timber. The very next ball Ahmadzai removed Gerhard Erasmus. A string of wickets brought the Wolves back into the game. With small contributions from Faheem Ashraf and Saad bin Zafar, the Nationals were able to post 142 on the board. From the Wolves it was Usman Khan and Aaron Johnson who started the chase. It was Zaman Khan who struck the first blow with his loopy slow yorker right at the bottom of Usman's middle stump. This marked the arrival of Mark Chapman to the crease who started from the word go. Once again Zaman Khan struck for the Nationals getting rid of Aaron Johnson and soon Faheem Ashraf removed Mark Chapman. The big guy Colin de Grandhomme found Shahid Afridi's hands off Farhan Malik's bowling. These fall of wickets brought the young Pakistani all-rounder Hussain Talat and the Canadian legend Rizwan Cheema. Together these two brought the chase back into the Wolves' favour. The specialist death bowling line-up of the Nationals brought chaos into the Wolves camp. But Rizwan Cheema held off one end and brought the target closer to their reach. Shahid Afridi then took matters into his own hands, bowled the 18th over, and got 2 consecutive wickets. The Wolves needed just 2 runs off 8 balls, when Chris Green gave away his wicket, bringing the last batter in the middle. The Nationals went to their most experienced player Shahid Afridi, asking for a miracle, which he almost pulled off. The Wolves scored the winning runs in the second last ball and got 2 crucial points. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Click on the link to subscribe to GT20 Canada: https://bit.ly/32UcUdi Click on the link below to follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/gt20canada/ Click on the link below to follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/gt20canada Click on the link below to follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/GT20Canada To check out the stats, tap the link below: https://gt20.ca/

HIGHLIGHTS | MLS All-Stars v Arsenal (0-5) | Gabriel Jesus, Trossard, Jorginho, Martinelli, Havertz

Excellent goals from Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz – as well as a Jorginho penalty – gave us a richly-deserved win in the MLS All-Star match in Washington. We repeated our success of 2016, when we triumphed 2-1 in this showpiece fixture in San Jose, but this was a much more comfortable win. In fact it’s the biggest winning margin against the MLS All-Stars since 2000, and was the perfect way to get our series of three fixtures in the USA underway. Following the pre-match show of fireworks, pyrotechnics, the national anthem and a flyover, it took less than five minutes for Jesus to prove that Arsenal were the main attraction tonight. We dominated possession in the opening exchanges, before Bukayo Saka was released by a raking Jorginho pass. He found Jesus just outside the box, and the Brazilian clipped a delightful first-time chip over the keeper and just under the cross bar. Cheered on by the vast majority of the sell out 20,000 crowd inside Audi Field, we continued to dictate proceedings, and scored another stunner midway through the half. Saka – who would win the MVP award – again caused trouble by cutting inside from the right wing before sliding his pass across to Trossard. The Belgian shifted it onto his right foot then cracked home from 20 yards, giving Roman Burki no chance. The All-Stars, managed by Wayne Rooney, made a host of changes as early as the 30th minute, with former Premier League striker, and star of host club DC United, Christian Benteke among those taken off. On the stroke of half-time the impressive Trossard struck a free kick just wide, but we were good value for our two-goal lead at the break. Havertz, Martin Odegaard and Karl Hein were all introduced at half-time, and within seconds of the restart we increased our lead after being given a penalty for handball. Jorginho tucked away from 12 yards in typical fashion, leaving the keeper flat footed, and rolling it home into the corner. With 25 minutes remaining, Mikel Arteta sent on Declan Rice for his first appearance in an Arsenal shirt. Jurrien Timber also came on for his non-competitive debut, playing at right back with Ben White moving to the centre. Both were heartily cheered whenever in possession. We continued to look the most likely to score, despite the wholesale changes. Odegaard’s superb pass set up our fourth goal, as he found the advancing Martinelli on the left, who took the ball into the area before dispatching his shot low into the corner. Havertz got in on the act late on, with a thunderous drive, after bringing the ball down superbly at the far post. Arsenal: Ramsdale (Hein 46), White (Trusty 80), Saliba (Timber 65), Gabriel (Tomiyasu 65), Kiwior (Tierney 65), Jorginho (Rice 65), Trossard (Martinelli 56), Vieira (Marquinhos 65), Saka (Havertz 46), Nketiah (Odegaard 46), Jesus (Balogun 65).
